  • This is Tracy McGrady's first playoffs game and actually the first post-season appearance for the Toronto Raptors franchise, period. While his hotshot cousin Vince Carter (16pts, 3/20 FG) has an embarrassing game, the young up-and-comer T-Mac has himself a good performance. McGrady doesn't look all that shook and courageously attacks the paint for layups and offensive rebounds, even though guys like Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson and Marcus Camby are there to bump him around and swat some of his shots. Some of the youthful mistakes are there, however, T-Mac handles the big game pressure like a veteran. April 23, 2000.

If Mcgrady and Carter stayed together. Man, they would have been a force in the NBA for a long time and definitely challenged Shaq and Kobe in the Finals

Funny you say that because Kobe said that if they stayed together they would have won championships.

Had the Raptor front office and coaches made the commitment to T-Mac that he would get more responsibility in the offense, and would get his chance at taking the shot in crunch time, I think he stays. Toronto was lucky enough to get two studs in the draft in back to back years and they let it fizzle. Kind of similar to the Magic who got Shaq and Penny. Just imagine if Vince and TMac both had free reign to create, and they were surrounded with veteran leadership and key role players. They would have been legit contenders for the NBA title.

This T-Mac gives me vibes of a young Pistons Rodman with an offensive game.

Atown 843 nah he didnt. Big tmac fan. Overall vince did sligthly better. But tmac was better at ball movement, defence, and rebounding than vince. Effort basicly.

upon reading the caption the Vince hate is strong with this one. They didn't beat the Knicks till the following year without T-Mac. With that said, what could've been had they stayed together or were somehow re-united to play together. O well...

Josh Romero-Burgan d wade in 04/05 took his team to the conference finals as a 2nd year player averaging 25ppg in the regular and 27ppg for the playoffs Detroit got lucky flash got injured in 6 heat were leading the series 3-2 when wade went down I firmly believe Miami would’ve beaten the spurs in 05 and ran it back up in 06 it was just amazing how he was already a top 10 player by his 2nd year even made all nba and all star team
