So much nostalgia, I still remember playing this with my dad and we would have such a good time. The soundtrack, the fonts on everything, the general art style for HUD elements, everything about this.. not to mention that America X Games ending, still gets me pumped up. I just really want a remaster or another game that tries to do what this game did.
There's something about how realistic the cars are in this game...they look so real...more than even new games for me, it's so amazing that they made this in 2009.

It's realistic enough to still be immersive especially in the racing genre where graphical technology moves at a slower pace compared to physics. It can still keep up with many modern unmodded games

DIRT Rally and DIRT rally 2.0 are rally SIMULATIONS. From a certain point of view, the challenge is to complete a stage in one piece. Also, both DIRT Rally require a good steering wheel to be played properly. The other DIRT (with partially the exception of DIRT 4) are just arcade, and you can play with just the pad. DIRT 4 is somewhere in between: Is mostly dedicated to rally, had a good physics, but still playable even from newbies, using a pad
I just met Travis pastrami yesterday and he's such a nice person I remember playing this game as a kid racing him and I mentioned this game to him and he remembered all the hours he spent making it
This was a stellar game for its time (2009!). Great looking, well optimized (ran it on a laptop) with fun but realistic gameplay and physics, great track design and of course amazing sound track! I'm playing Dirt 5 now and I don't get the same feeling :\

This game looks better than any other Dirt game to this day. You can feel the warmth coming off the screen at the Marocco, Malaysia and China stages.
