Nice review. I fried a mini charge controller when I connected it to charging power before connecting it to the battery, and seen another youtuber fry a large charge controller that way. So, as far as I know, it's always best to attach the battery first, as you had suggested.
The version that I have doesn't have the bluetooth. It would be nice to know how well it's performing. I do get to see the amps that are going in and the voltage that it's producing, so at least I can use that to see the performance.
Good explanation mate, nice setup, pity there wasn’t a bit more sun for ur test, be good to see what ur 100w panels and mppt actually can put out in decent sunlight. Those cheap 150A watt meters are good for putting on either side of these controllers so u can see at a glance the volts, amps, watts, amps used, etc at a glance, just have to add ur own connectors.
