      Bill, I understand classical music more because I have been taught a certain amount of music theory.

    At 61 I figured out stfu and let their intuitions come on line. Speak only when necessary and then with utmost respect if possible. Drop your rigid expectations.

      Why Tom? Antonio Carlos? Is that a name his close friends used? Anyway I've seen Tom a lot did he change his name? Is that his Brother?

      Hi Ran - I do think Cam was at Columbia in 62! And I was at New England Conservatory 1980-84. I remember you very well. You took me to see Fritz Lang movies at Coolidge Corner. Stay safe. Warm regards from Norway.

    Music has become a plot center of ideas instead of jamming or swinging it’s becoming a hassle listening to these guys explaining jazz it’s working with a lot of planning instead of spontaneous creation.

    a rock guitarist plays 3 chords in front of 5000 people, a jazz guitarist plays 5000 chords in from of 3 people.

      @@TheDoug2103 Haha, having just finished a jazz degree, this is very true. I suppose it was fun, but mostly just a waste of 3 years. I'm going to try to find a more normal, better paying job now
