It truly is a gem of a movie. The most exquisite Austen film ever made to date. I agree with you completely, the characters felt SO real, relatable, funny, and refreshed.
The way the music and physical behavior, looks, gestures, and physical comedy, carried the subtext in this film felt like if Sofia Coppola and Wes Anderson teamed up to make a period piece with period music. Really loved it so much. Really great to see Anya and Johnny in these roles after so many serious, intense thriller-type movies. Really showed their range and were absolutely fantastic in Emma together. Anya is blowing up finally as expected, but I'd also really recommend Beast, with Jessie Buckley and Johnny Flynn in the leads. Really interesting and disturbing film.
I saw the movie twice in theaters two days in a row and then when Covid-19 came upon us I first run rented it and proceeded to watch it five times and then cherry pick my favorite scenes. It's SO lovely to hear Autumn De Wilde and Anya Taylor Joy talk about it. I can't stop listening to the soundtrack!
This was so interesting! I loved the score, and as a musician, I was fascinated to hear the director say she had music composed in the key of the actors' voice....how cool is that! So much useful information in general was shared here.
Yes, the music and the costumes captivated me. She used such varied music and I keep wanting to watch the movie over and over. Folk music and Amish style music, and the duet.
Meredith did a fantastic job as moderator. She's so passionate and sincere with her love for the film and asked some really great questions. I so long to go back to the theater and see films like Emma on the big screen and with a full audience. Hopefully this pandemic will be over one day soon and people will embrace the theater going experience once again.
i wish this movie could have more commercial success. it's so good! i wanted to watched in the cinema but quarantine suddenly started and it was impossible :(
“I am 49 and I am doing my first film”- Autumn De Wilde. Let that be a lesson for all of us ❤️
This may be my FAVORITE Jane Austen adaptation. It is so REAL. The emotiont and complex lives are palpable. Thank you!!!!

There’s a quirky Wes Anderson vibe throughout the movie. Love it !

What a delightful interview! I loved this movie so much and these were such interesting questions!
Loved the interview, great questions!
It was especially interesting to dig into the soundtrack details!
Thank you! Amazing beautiful work.
Anya Taylor Joy is so underrated actress right now.
I mean... she has two nominations for best actress in this year's golden globes, I don't think she's underrated
I wish de Wilde would do a Pride & Prejudice adaptation!
Autumn de Wilde is the best!
Великолепная работа!👍❤️
there's this thing of laugh at someone/something and then feel about it in joker too,, is kinda heavier or 'worse'; the 'can you get the lock' scene
Moderator misprounces Anya's name. It's an-ya, not awn-ya.
Boston accent..
Boston...
Wow 6"2 is tall for a woman.
