Thank you! Yes Hannu made som very fine videos. Caj and Katja was following his adventures more deeply than me and thought it was appropriate to honoring him this way. Going solo is dangerous and even if you are experienced as Hannu was and the consequenses is way much bigger alone. I think Hannu was aware of the risk but also choose to following his passion. Still so sad he passed away on the Kaitum river.
Amazing video Jacob. Watching you guys overcome the initial adversity and then truly enjoying the nature and each others company was very inspirational. The cold north wind really does make the vikings 👍
I was blessed 🙏 to be in the USA on a J-1 cultural exchange visa as a Water - ski instructor & Cabin counsellor. . . . Saw, 19 States and Wyoming was one of them. 😁💪🐾
Incredible! I loved seeing the countryside, and the beautiful camaraderie of your group! I am so excited for the next adventure! I live only an hour from the Grand Canyon, but my ancestors are Scandinavian; so the next film, like this one, will be a real treat. 🍻
Thank you Keith! Glad you liked the film. The next film I'm working on is actually from Grand Canyon where I went packrafting a few year back in time. I hope it will be finished this spring (Caj, Katja and Jeremie from Earing the River is a part of the crew too). But there willl be more films from Scandinavia i the future. 🙂
Thank you so much for this awesome video. It is very soothing and inspiring to watch the journey and inspiring for many of us to get out of comfort and get ourselves out there and make something out of our lives. Thank you and wishing you only the best.
kjekt å se at dere hadde en god læringsopplevelse på høyfjellet i Sverige. Kankje ikke egnet som forebildet men det ser ut at dere hadde en fin tur likevel
Hey really enjoyed the video, I'm curious when you were going down the rapids did you have all your packs and gear zipped inside your pack rafts or did you carry it all to the end of the rapids? Cheers!
Thanks Angus! Glad you like the film. Yes, I had all my gear inside the tubes (you have a waterproof zipper in the stern at your packraft - it is called Cargo Fly). In the video I think Caj, Katja and Peter had there bag in the front of the boat. Our trip to Kaitum is 6 years ago and all of us have upgraded to boats with cargo Fly. Please chack out Alpacka Raft solutions for Cargo Fly - Alpacka Raft is together with Aqua Bounad the sponsor of the film. Cheers Jacob 🙂
Sorry to hear you perceived the film that way. I don’t know what you expected from a “packrafting film”, but packrafting (meaning packable rafts) is about combining boating with hiking in remote areas and that’s what this film is about (hiking and boating) with storytelling.
Well, it’s a packrafting film, not a kayaking film. Packrafting, at its core, is about the journey of finding hidden treasures, far off the beaten path.
I have to say, I’m actually a little dissapointed. I was looking forward to see a film about packrafting and expected to see alot of packrafting, but during the almost 45min video, there is only about 5min of actual packrafting and the rest is just dialog…..
Hi Simon, Sorry to hear that the film disappointed you. Storytelling is what interests me when I make adventure films and dialogue together with character development is pretty essential to good storytelling. But thank you for taking the time to make a comment. I recommend that you check out @jeffreycreamer channel for some more rad whitewater packrafting with less dialogue and more packrafting. Jeff is amazingly skilled.
What an amazing trip.
Nice to see great storytelling and vibes from the crew along the trip.
Thanks a lot for the sweet words Kerma. I am glad you liked the film 😀
Excellent movie Jacob!
Thanks a lot Chris!
A great movie. Hannu will always be one of my heroes, thanks for the minute of silence 🙏

Tusind tak! Jeg kan virkelig anbefale Kaitum, men en lettere vej kan anbefales 🙂

@@urbanpackrafter thanks for the reply Jacob, I'm looking at getting into the sport and was curious about the logistics. Appreciate the info!
Urban.greetings, this is unusual footage! talk you later~
Awesome whitewater......
Thanks. Yes Kaitum is woth a visit 🙂
Not a lot of packrafting for a packrafting film...

So to win awards, all you have to do is be a good editor and film some junk
Hi Rob, thanks for your comment, allthough I don't really understand what you are trying to say.
This is super cool, love the vibe and insight into packrafting! 😍🛶👏
Thank you so much! Yes packrafting is something special. Try it out one day 🙂
