  • We did two dives on the USS Kanawha, a fleet oiler sunk during World War II, near Tulagi Harbor in the Solomon Islands. It was sank by Japanese bombers after waiting in the harbour for escort.
The wreck lies upright on a sandy bottom at a depth of 60m with the main deck around 40-50m, making this a bit of a deeper dive. This depth, however, means its relatively intact with guns, bullet shells, and other artifacts from the day of the sinking.
