I just discovered this, I have a very similar tesselation I designed around the same time! Mine replicates the traditional lotus within the square, such that it can be tiled. Just thought it neat and interesting, we both came up with a similar collapse for a similar effect independently!
Edit, this is my personal account not my origami one, if you google a dozen lotuses by Alexander Roa you should find mine, I don't have a RUclips tutorial for it however.

Thank you for your comment. Your tessellation is very beautiful! I think it was so cool that we explored in our own ways but we found similar results!
This is why I love folding tessellation so much, based on the same grid, we can experiment with the fold and change here and there to get some interesting effects. However, a lot of mine come out looking like flowers. 😆😆

lovely tessellation and very clear instructions! thank you so much for this video!
do you have any recommendations for what kind of paper to use (thickness, gloss, material etc?), also did you make all the 32x32 folds by yourself or is there any place you bought the prefolded paper from?
once again lots of thanks! my mum loved the gift :)

In this tutorial, I used 80gsm pink copy paper which is ok but sometimes it may tear in the creases if not fold carefully.
The paper which has the stronger fibers would be more suitable to fold. I tried the origami kami paper, it looks nice.😄
I fold the 32×32 grid by myself. (Sometimes I am lazy to fold them as well.😅😅)
Thank you for your lovely comment.🥰🥰
