The difference between Purpled and Fruitberries was 18 coins.

Fruit got 50 coins for 1st in the leap, Purpled got 35 for 2nd. The difference between the 2 is 15 coins, so if Purpled got 1st that leap and Fruit got 2nd, Purpled would've lost 1st individual by only 3 coins
