@@romesrepublic traded in my piece of crap audi for one of these and let me tell you, the BEST decision I ever made... no more headaches which is what I constantly had with audi even when maintaining the hell out of it. With this vehicle, I no longer have that problem and can actually drive it and enjoy the car without thinking about mechanical problems
I really dont like how he makes the IS seem like a cheaper car for people lookin for "cheap" he fails to mention the IS is better built then the rest, will last longer and much more stylish then the rest in its class. Also the F Sport model adds more then just visual it has has a more sporty suspension and tighter steering then the normal model. IMO this car isnt an "alternative" to the Germans its a statement saying im different and not scared to think outside the box.
My 2007 IS250 has paddle shifters so it’s not just on the FSport package. He really does this car no justice. Nobody’s fault that you and your twins are huge🤦🏽♂️
The guy forgot to mention that Lexus is the #1 brand when you talk about reliability... but the German cars, specially BMW, will cost you a tone of money for maintenance... plus Lexus is cheaper. Honestly, if you are VP at your company and you can buy a brand new Mercedes and change it every 3 years, go for it. If you want a reliable luxury car with decent performance, go for a Lexus with F-Sport package. I've got a 2012 IS350 awd and I added the F-Sport suspension and intake... great car.
+LoyaltyRon IS350 2013 = most reliable brand (Lexus).. I don't know whay you 'heard', but I strongly suggest to do your homework before you decide to buy an Audi. Beautiful car, nice to drive, etc., but I hope you have a budget for the car maintenance.
I agree with you. He knows nothing on what an average buyer might even consider. Price is not the main thing, reliability however is. Depreciation factor is a big one also.
I will say that with a quick tune; the BMW 3.0 twin turbo engine in their _35i's can become a beast. For me personally it comes down to 135i vs IS350. On one hand I'd really like a manual transmission and the tuneability of the BMW but it doesn't take long to get over that with real leather, a/c seats, touchscreen nav & dvd, and of course a much more reliable car in the Lexus.
I'll buy one of these, debadge the rear and add the IS-F badge and add a aftermarket quad-exhaust system. Think about it, when's the next time your run into a M3 or C63 AMG?
i agree with the my leg guy reliability is big thing on lexus they might not be a fast car but they confortable and quality is good. BMV is fast but more money to spent in the long run ...
Official 0-60 time for Lexus IS350: 4.8 seconds. Official 0-60 times for Audi S4: 5.2 seconds and 5.0 seconds (manual). I think the IS250 is a slouch in power, but the 3.5L V6 in the IS350 is something else.
2022 > 😄😏 10 years later younger buyers are looking to purchase this vehicle big guy And it's still classy still performance well and is much cheaper than the German's plus it holds a great Value and reliability comparably😁
I don't quite agree with the part about comparing entry engine (Lexus using V6 vs Germans using I4). First it wasn't mentioned that Lexus using NA V6, and the Germans using Turbo I4. Second, Lexus been using same engine since 2006. Germans only recently switched to I4 (BMW 328i 3.0 NA I6 to N20 I4 Turbo, Mercedes also had 2.5 or 3.0 NA V6 for the C250/C300 to new 1.8T I4, except for Audi with the 2.0T for a few years now).
My car history (leaving out the irrelevant to this conversation ie suv's) '90 5.0 mustang 9 months, '95 2.2 celica 4 years all through college, 98 m3 6 months, '03 IS300 3 years, 04 M3 1 year, 05 S4 2 weeks, 07 S4 1 year, 06 M5 4 months, '09 IS350 2 years & current. If I didn't have to pay for the maintenance on the german cars, audi especially, I would've been able to buy an ISF. However I did move south before ditching the quattro, S4's are beasts in the snow and out of the league of an awd IS
I drive an Audi B6 S4 and trust me I wish I would have gone IS 350. The S4 is loud on the highway geared terribly and uncomfortable on long hauls. Yes it's much faster but at the end of the day it just doesn't matter.
Honestly, Audi is the most reliable out of the German cars imo. Been driving an '02 A4 for a year now and put 30k miles on it, never broke on me. But the German cars cost so much tho.
Official times are usually under-rated and not representative or reality. Looking at the recent Car and Driver comparison (335i vs. ats 3.6 vs. is350 F sport) the Is350 performed as follows; 0-60; 5.6, 0-100: 13.5, 0-130: 25.9. 1/4 Mile: 13.0 @ 102 mph. The 335i outperformed the IS350 in every respect. Looking at Motortrend’s recent s4 test it's clear the Audi is in an entirely different league with the IS. 0-60: 4.4, 1/4 Mile: 13.0 @ 105 mph.
BMW a drivers car, Lexus a reliable car that is the difference, drive what your heart desires! But when you strip away the complicated electronics from BMW they do make a good engine, cars have just evolved they are what they are.
1: it's quicker than an S4 and 335i so don't say it's made to compete with A4's, hell it takes an M3 more than 1/8 mile to catch up to a 350. 2: An IS350 doesn't have to be an F Sport to have paddles. 3: For $10-12G's less you wouldn't buy a faster & more reliable car?! What a CLOWN.
Really, Price and reliability, This guy would rather you spend extra and visit the dealership more often than you would in the Lexus. and all 4 cylinders mention are turbo's FAILED to metion that chief. The suspension is teaked in the model your driving. Please know your stuff, just like the time invested in the German counterparts!
This guy is just bashing on the Lexus. If he really loves German cars then he should just do reviews for German cars. In my opinion the Lexus IS 350 F Sport is a well made car. It offers reliability, dependability and it offers both luxury and performance. Plus I Love The sporty look. So my question to him is will a BMW, Audi and Mercedes still be running the same after 150k Miles??
You continually take both hands off the steering wheel. If you want your comments to be taken seriously, you should obey the most basic of road rules.....just saying.

Reliability is a huge consideration when assessing the current direction BMW is headed with there new models. Lack of steering feel and fun to drive factors there known for.
I bought one over a 335i for one simple reason... google the worlds most reliable car manufacturer of the last 7 years... Lexus, Lexus, Toyota, Lexus.... I think Kia won one though... idk... but the Germans just arent as reliable and expensive to service...

Would you like to know about where every single screw is located under the car? or maybe you would like to know how many fat chicks you can fit in the trunk? Reliability is a big factor too, which BMW doesn't have.
+Memo was about to say that, complaining a turbo 4 outperforms. but the N/A 2.5 and 3.5 v6's can outlive them with low stress

this model sells less and less over the years, you dont need a bigger v6 unless you want it so badly, IS250 is does the job very well enough.
