    I wish I still had mine. Greatest car for the money ever made. Go fast? Yep. Economic? Yep. Handle like a go kart? Yep. Park anywhere? Yep. Good in snow? HELL YEAH IT IS. Ok then... Reliable? HELL YEAH IT IS. I sold mine (foolishly) with 480,000 miles on it and in perfect running condition.

    Having owned one of these for five years, I concur with your assessment of the vehicle. It is a wonderful car, almost as fun to drive as my Miata. I'm glad you had the chance to experience one...they are awesome automobiles, a true unsung hero for Suzuki and the late 89's to mid 90's.

    • @MrBenHaynes

      I lasted four years (with no air con) in my midnight blue GTi, now drive an ND MX-5 (Miata). I miss the rawness of the engine, the ride was pretty comfy though.

    We used to call these the ''McDonalds car'' back in the 90's, they were so popular there was one on every corner lol, they were great little cars, the original pocket rocket taking the fight to Aussie 5ltr cars, before the GC8 WRX came and stole the show that is......This model was available in Japan in 4WD trim too, known as the ''Cultus'' a few people imported the running gear from Japan back in the day to convert their local GTi's , some even turbocharging them to take advantage of the AWD traction... The tough little 1300's were also a popular transplant in dune buggies etc.. The GTi 1300 had a much sweeter exhaust note than Toyota's 4AGE in my opinion!

    • @HereIsMyOffer
      @HereIsMyOffer 8 лет назад

      Nice one! I drive a 92 Liberty RS, the great grandfather of the modern WRX! Watching your GTi video brings back memories of the 90's automotive scene, so many good performance cars! Was also the great turbo era, every manufacture had a great turbo car ...Sadly now days with tight emission levels and the global financial downturn, nobody is making these special cars. Keep up the good work mate!

    • @pagano126
      @pagano126 8 лет назад

      They were definitely a cult car. something most people don't remember is that while Mazda were taking down Porsche at Bathurst and Eastern Creek in the 12hr endurance races. Suzuki were also class leaders for the same amount of years with the GTI.

    Love your vid man. I've had a 92 and a 96. The 96 had better handling but I think that was the rim size and low profiles. Saying that both were my life. I've had a lot of fun in these 👍🏻 on a straight they lag a little behind Vtechs but if you get them on a backroad they're toast 😂

    I got a 1990 Swift GTi in 2012 as my first car, sold it this time last year because i didn't have the money to keep it going. Selling it was the hardest thing I've done, It had it's problems, but i absolutely adored it, but it was because i loved it that i couldn't take it to a wreckers.
    Parents would never shut up, wanting me to get rid of it. They were always saying it in a playful tone, became a bit of a meme, "so Brandon, when you selling the Suzuki," 'never' was always the reply. I miss it so much 😭😭

    This car was still produced in Pakistan as 1.0efi five doors..... Very successful car in Pakistan but unfortunately it's been replaced by Suzuki celario..... Still people are crazy for this car and converting to 1.6liter engine from Suzuki esteem.. I have sedan version of this car... Very fun little car but mine has no rattle or what so ever I have 1997 model loving it ..

    Had one, loved it. Lift off oversteered so predictable on dry and wet tarmac, soil, grass, wet grass, snow and i lacked balls to try ice. It is great, it really is. Have fun guys! Btw: Please don't rev cold engines.

    • @ZCarReviews
      @ZCarReviews  6 лет назад +1

      :)
      I am glad that someone actually picked this up that I was revving the car when it was cold.
      Normally for most of my videos - I shoot the engine section after the test drive and the engine is already at running temp but obviously that's not the case here.
      An absolute fun car to drive.

    As an owner of a newest generation swift glx turbo, i am really glad of the heritage of the swift nameplate. Suzuki can make amazing little engines and the current 1.0 turbo is a gem, although its slower than the old GTI which has lower power and much less torque. I wonder why as there is not a huge difference in weight.

    My granny owns one and holly fuck, they are the perfect match. My grandma drives sporty... If you know what I mean. That car is in perfect hands, she had it since its release, and its still almost 100% factory state, everything works on it, even the ac. And even with the stock exhaust, it sounds beasty for a car like this. I learned to drive on it when I was 11, Im now 18 and strongly thinking about buying one as a first car. Good review!
