Best tutorial on the DS1! Thank you!
You're welcome!
I remember hearing that groove some time ago and loved it. It's perfect for testing the DS1. I own it and had it on my master Bus but replaced it with the Massenberg MDWDRC2 which to me sounds bigger, nice coloring when you want color and I can mix into it since there's no latency. After watching this I reinstalled DS1 not as a better or worse plugin but because it made me realize I have two of the best compressor plugins available (imo) and each can have it's use depending on the material. Thanks for the video.
You're welcome.
I also love the Compressor in DS1.
Thanks, best/Mathias
You're welcome, Mathias!!!
It's so hard to justify $300 for a plugin, but then realizing that the 1 to 1 hardware unit costs 10x as much it becomes a bit easier.
Unfortunately, I haven't tested the hardware yet, but something tells me it should sound better, especially the limiter.
Hi
You were using the ‘Type 2’ limiter in DS1 which is a True Peak limiter . In my experience they always sound bad and reduce the liveliness of transients. I wouldn’t mind betting your comparison vs TC would have been closer if you used Type 1!
Hi.
I tested both types. Types 2 is "closer" to TC.
@@adrianmilea fair enough - missed that bit!
