While I'm still liking what DC Comics is doing, I have to admit that books like this are making me more keen on what Marvel has been doing lately. The bad taste from "Heroes In Crisis" is still kind of lingering in my mouth.

Yeah... I stopped reading Batman after the wedding issue from Tom King, I stopped reading Superman after issue 4 of Bendis Superman.... I stopped reading Justice league:/ I dunno. I have always been a DC kid abut lately DC is really losing me. The only thing I am buying regularly is Doomsday Clock and well... not even Aquaman. Stopped after this stupid memory loss story.

Me yesterday: I'm kinda bored at work. Might as well watch the comic classes I missed. War of the Realms seems cool. Me today: WELL THAT TIMING IS BEAUTIFUL
I felt it was a bit underwhelming. Most of the fighting was against fodder frost giants. The villian side had some cool characters but they did nothing with them, most of them were defeated off panel. Malekith himself never felt like that much of a threat. And the whole reuniting of the 4 Thors came out of nowhere and felt like over kill and Aaron repeating himself. Honestly if it had been just regular Thor and Jane i would have been okay with it
Carnage has definitely been set up. When I read the title "Prophet of The Void" I'm like of course Kasady would decide to join the horrific god of the Symbiotes as its cleric. Of course he'd do that...
So Im tempted to count up & post how many times Thorgi uses the phrase “come in here” or some variation of the phrase in his videos, BUT I don’t wanna be a dick!
I'm still lost, The Symbiont always needed a host and yet we've seen The Symbiont running around without one for awhile now not only that but it's taken a human form which is something it could never do before
I'm really jazzed for CB Cebulski's recent initiative in getting events in and out when they're supposed to. I recall at C2E2 in March, Dautterman was finishing the penultimate issue a month ahead of the first issue released. Stegman was given more than enough time to get Absolute Carnage done as well.
The major issue of marvel events is the amount of issues involved with it. The amount of issues and the pricing of them is too much for me to fully enjoy events when they happen back to back
To be fair, it's not like there was that high of a bar for WOTR to clear to be considered a satisfying modern Marvel event... I still think making Jane Foster the new Valkyrie comes off as a backpedaling on her tenure as Thor... especially since they buried a gay to do it...
It was a solid read. Strong ending. Overall it didn't draw me in though. Didn't really feel like an event that was truly impacting the world despite the various tie ins.
bob mathis-friedman I love the New Agents of Atlas as well, and I am do glad to read that your brother now has a better perception of Marvel. I'm always happy to see new characters, and that comic has so many of them. Plus, it's smart of Marvel to try and reach out to new demographics and say "Hey there! Not a comic fan, huh? Well, let's see if we can't change that". Sadly there are a few out there screaming that Asians of Atlas is racist, because it only had people of Asian/Pacific heritage. They seem to ignore the fact it takes place in ASIA. Who do they expect to see, Nigerians, the Dutch? Sheesh.

I haven't been reading Squirrel Girl, but after this event I may change that. If the tie-in issues are any indication of the writing, then the comic is hilarious. And the art grew on me. Sigh, thanks Marvel, like I don't buy enough of your comics to begin with.
I have always thought events should be short and epic. The longer an event gets dragged out the worst it is. Invasion at DC has always been the gold standard to me because it was 3 months in and out so I am glad Marvel is moving more in that direction. On the flip side i just lost all interest in Doomsday Clock because of how long it has been taking.

Just off the top of my head he has popped up in Avengers, Champions, and Superior Spider-Man, and i have no doubt he's eventually gonna appear in Amazing Spider-Man with all the hell talk over there. Whatever event is gonna come from all of these MEPHISTO appearances, I NEED DAT.

rajabuta That is a good idea. It would be interesting to see Mephisto offer Otto a deal, and Otto accepting because he's arrogant enough to think he could out wit Mephisto. Plus, it would just be interesting to see Otto talk down to the devil.

I loved war of the realms but where we're the Earth villains? They're in New York and no Doc Of, Dr Doom, Green Goblin? Could've made for a sick crossover all the villains teaming up to help the heroes
Kind of an underwhelming event if I am being honest. It never really felt like anyone was in any danger. Looked like it was all under control with the Avengers completely safe in their new base, probably 7 of 10 tie-ins were just heroes punching some cannon fodder frost giants, even street levels like Luke Cage and Iron Fist were taking them out like nothing. Punisher shows up and just shoots everyone up with guns, trolls, dark elves, giants, just all of them. It all just sort of came and went
I really enjoyed WOTR. It helped I was reading Thor to begin with, sure, but it was still great fun. I’m less enthused about Absolute Carnage, but the main mini-series IS only 4 issues (I’ll just skip the tie-ins, though). That’s pretty manageable, all things considered.
Not gonna lie, I actually laughed from that opening quite a bit. I really would've preferred it if Marvel hadn't made a few books tie-ins to the event, cause I dropped Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Fantastic Four and Deadpool. Given, I was gonna drop them at some point but the event definitely helped me choose to drop them. The Avengers tie-ins weirdly worked for me though
Im bisexual myself, i couldnt care less that valkryie died. That was cool she was bi too but i dont need to have all my favorite characters be gay or bi to relate to them and enjoy reading them because i unlike others actually love these characters and dont want to see them changed for the sake of "diversity". Also im comfortable with my sexuality so i really dont need bi characters, altho its nice to organically have those characters to naturally and organically exist but im ok with killing a bi character as much as a straight character.
This has nothing to do with the points he brought up. It's a common trope to kill off the LGBTQ+/GRSM character just like it's a common trope to kill off the black character. And yes these tropes are harmful to many people especially when they have very little representation of themselves in media. If you don't find them harmful then good for you but that doesn't mean everyone has to think that way. I do agree with what he said about how well it fits the story but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to also be upset.
We seen each of the Lords of Midgaurd loose expect Sinder. Enchantress looses in Captain Marvel. Laufey looses on War of the realms final issue. Darron Agger looses issue 5 of War of the realms. Queen Of Haven looses in the final issue of Asguardians of the Galaxy. Kurse gets turned back into her true form in War of the Realms: Spider-Man & the League of Realms issue 3 I only wanted to see Sinder fight Carol we only see her deck Carol in the face in Agents of Atlas while ya in War of the issue 5 Carol stood over her like this bitch tried it and lost.

Brevincampbell12 Well, you didn't really HAVE to read them, but they did help tell the main story. And that's the beauty of Strikeforce, it helps fill in details so the main series doesn't have to stretch on and on, or become bloated.
The War of the Realms isn't finish , Now Loki get another series, WotR-OMEGA #1 ,Punisher kill Krew, More Garbage. It's getting tiering to waste money on Comics that the very company doesn't care enough to make more interested , Nobody really dies , when they do another DEFENDERS reunion the Valkyrie will be back, resurrection again.
