     @Fully Charged Electric Bikes We wanted the Batavus Fier 2 which is the stride 2 but delivery date was April 2023. We did look at the UA but after considering we went for the Carqon which has a very handy door so children don't have to climb in/out. We have it for 3 weeks now and it is quite the bike. It shows much bulkier than the UA and Fier/stride 2 and a R&M. I recently saw a Lovens cargo bicycle on the road here and I didn't knew that brand. Turns out it is from the same company that also has urban Arrow in their brand portfolio. Looks really decent for the price point with cable steer etc. Did you get a look at it already? Would love to see a good review of it. We do fight over the cargo bike right now because it is just so great. I might want another one because it really is a car replacement.

    The Raleigh seems identical to the Batavus Fier.
    We went for the Cube Cargo, It seems to have the handling and specs of the RM Load, a UA-esque bucket, and a Raleigh price. Too bad it is not in this selection.

    Great to see the Raleigh and Urban Arrow side by side - haven't seen many reviews of the Raleigh Stride 2 (which over here in the Netherlands is called 'Batavus Fier 2'). The Raleigh seems really well priced: an Urban Arrow with the Cargo Line motor is 600 pounds more and then you still need to upgrade the battery from 400Wh to 500Wh to get to the level of the Raleigh. What justifies the higher price for the Urban Arrow? Is it just the brand, the looks or is it really a better bike (if so, what makes it better)? Why would you recommend anyone to pick the Urban Arrow over the Raleigh?

    • @FullychargedUK
      @FullychargedUK  2 года назад +1

      Hi Roel thanks for reaching out! It's a good question and one that both Ben and Richard do go over in the video quite well. If you have a look at our Raleigh Stride 2 review you will hear what Ben has to say about its cons. You can find that video here: ruclips.net/video/Z_5WjOpUCUE/видео.html
      The Urban Arrow Family does have a better build quality, can take more load in its front box with the box itself being deeper, has a lower centre of gravity and in doing so makes handling the bike easier when you have your kids in the front. There is also exposed wiring in the bottom bracket of the Raleigh Stride 2. Overall, the Raleigh is a fantastic entry level option, and will get you and your family from A-B in urbanised environments. However, Urban Arrow only produce cargo bikes, it is their speciality, so you will find a better build quality and perhaps far less maintenance.

  • @farty81
    @farty81 2 года назад +1

    Think you'd be more generous about the Raleigh if it was branded as Batavus. It's exactly the same bike as a Batavus Fier 2. It's a superb bike for the money.

    • @martijnvangammeren1868
      @martijnvangammeren1868 2 года назад

      Yeah it is! We tested a bunch of cargo bikes and the Fier 2 was really good, delivery date of 2023 was not great :/ So we opted for the Carqon classic. Looks huge and Godzilla like but also very nice to ride.

      Hi Inaki, good to know Richard has commented below to you. It's an interesting one because the Packster 70 could come with two integrated 625Wh PowerTube batteries. Perhaps this is something they are looking to achieve with the Load going forward, although that would be masterful engineering considering the load's very low front box and its dynamism as a bike.

    Which cargo bike has the longest real world range in all electric mode for those of us with injuries to the knees? I need a hill climbing monster that can still get me 40+ km to a charge. I love to ride bicycles but simply am unable to pedal them without a great deal of pain.

    • @FullychargedUK
      @FullychargedUK  Год назад

      Thank you for getting in touch, Kasey and for your message. Out of these options, the Load 75, The Urban Arrow Family and the Tern GSD R14 come with DualBattery configuration options, which gives you up to 1000Wh of range.... which is more than enough for a 40+km charge. We would highly recommend staying on a Bosch Cargo Line motor, which these three come with, as they have 400% pedal assistance and 85Nm of torque, which is what you need. Where are you based? If you're in the UK you're more than welcome to visit one of our stores and we'll make sure we have some demo's provided for you.

      We've just shifted from a longtail with Surly cargo bags to a Load75 and its pretty mixed whether we have more cargo space with the Load. I could fit a huge amount in the surly bags and have our daughter on top, still have space behind her and on the front rack. I do need to start using the rack on the Load more, which I wasnt expecting, but the child takes a lot of the space in a bakfiet. We've got the cargo tray, but then you're largely stacking stuff up around your child. So its not as black and white as one being able to carry more. Basically I think I could carry more large things on the longtail, with the Load we can carry more stuff - specially cloths, jackets etc that we just burry her under :)

      @@FullychargedUK Part of the reason I ask is that I have a push Bullitt and cargobikes where I live are so rare its hard to see one in person. Beyond the price point, the lack of dealers such as yourself is the major barrier. Many of the companies are direct to consumer or have few showrooms, and I struggle to think how the cargo bike is going to spread, although in the US radpower has sold tons. But when we can't see the bikes in person or try them it is hard for people to understand differences in quality and price. Do you think cargo bikes can be sold by more traditional bike shops or does it require a buisness with your expertise?

    • @FullychargedUK
      @FullychargedUK  2 года назад

      @@andarenbici it's a very good question. What we'd firstly say regarding your geographical position is that we're still very much in the early stages of the electric cargo bike becoming a part of mainstream cycling culture... but this is rapidly changing, and so we do expect there to be a lot more accessibility for those who haven't tried an eCargo soon. We would recommend taking to a specialist, before a traditional bike shop. That's not to say traditional bike shops won't, in the future, have some degree of understanding about cargo bikes, but specialists offer a complete service package, and in doing so have more knowledge surrounding the product. Hi Khan, thanks for getting in touch. In our seven years of providing electric cargo bike solutions to the UK market, we have explored a number of different eBike systems, from numerous brands. eBikes are complex individuals, and especially eCargo bikes considering the load they can take. Anything that limits the potential issues you may have down the line (system failures, lack of build quality, warranty) is of real importance. That is why we have decided to become Bosch exclusive with our mid-drive motors. Of course, we appreciate they are the most expensive options, but they are by far the most reliable - and a reliable product that consistently works and doesn't emit problems is of paramount importance for our families and businesses. We have learnt the hard way over the years with other eBike systems and disgruntled customers! Hope that helps.
