For over 5 years I've dreamt of owning a vintage Martin Baritone Ukulele. I thought I struck gold when I saw one in an auction, but it was not as it seemed.

Did you know that Martin, when they released their tenor model, suggested in the marketing materials that it could be tuned as a ukulele, or 'like a guitar' (meaning DGBE, but of course the baritone didn't exist back then!). Of course, that would have been high D tuning. I have a tenor tuned high D DGBE, and if you think about it, there's nothing lower than there would be on a low G tenor! It's a shame it wasn't what you wanted or expected though.
