After working on myself I found myself not wanting to reconcile with my ex anymore. I found someone who I can see clearly loves me and wants me and one who will fight for me, and thats enough for me. Still I watch your videos to continue my growth.

What a great video, one of my favorites along with "Why they come back after you distance"...this video is very true, because I myself have gone through these stages after breaking up with someone. It's actually a GOOD thing if your ex starts dating someone new, because they usually realize pretty soon that they don't bond with them like they did with you, you have to let them go to get them back, no contact works every time for me, it's hard and you need discipline, a lot of self love and learning not to tie your happiness and value to a man/woman. Know your value! Keep listening to the videos, they will give you comfort and peace. Just when u want to reach out and text your ex, listen to a video and it will change your mind. No contact is only effective when your ex still loves you. If their actions showed that they just don't care then use no contact as a way to move on rather than wait and be hopeful that they will come back. I been on both sides of the fence and broke up with an ex because I knew I wasn't in love with him. During no contact I didn't think of him at all or desire to reconnect with him. This same thing should be expected from exes that initiated break ups with you.
When an ex comes back it is to THEIR benefit not yours. IF you were not good enough then, your not good enough for them now. People that love ya, don't leave ya.
@7empest Actually that is the paradox. Healthy people don’t leave a relationship. They value it. Dismissive avoidant only understand love to a certain level. But their fear trigger is greater than their love trigger. And the fear can win out and they can sabotage the relationship. So then it feels exactly like your statement. I know it sucks. It’s not fair and in a way it’s emotional terrorism..

I'm at Day 203 of No Contact. I had a great Skype with Margaret and I made the decision that once the New Year hits I will delete her number because it's been close to a year and I don't think she's coming back which is fine. I've learned a lot from Craig and will bring this knowledge into my other relationships.

I was feeling so anxious over him going out and having fun with friends but he's probably just using those as instant gratification and distraction during relief period, however that won't last forever and I'm the one doing the actual work.
that's exactly how I'm feeling about my ex right now, I was the dumpee and she suffers from depression and anti-depressants that make her feel barely any emotion. I know that it'll all catch up to her. her partying and instant gratification will catch up. we're in this together.

What Craig and Margaret are saying is so true, my ex came back a week ago, now we are chatting and in friendly terms. I used to watched your video early of our break up and it helped me get myself up. I stopped watching for awhile and picked up myself and rebuild myself esteem, career, just getting busy with life. I admit I occasionally think of him but not to the point of sobbing like back when it was really fresh from break up. You feel as if in you're in a pit. You can either sit there and wait for the pit to somehow fill back up from underneath you, or you can climb out of the pit with your bare hands and feet, coming out a stronger person from the other end. I’ve been binge watching these videos because my boyfriend and I broke up. But, this video really hit home. My ex-husband of 20 years went through ALL of this after he left me. ALL OF IT. He waited two years, until I had really worked hard to rebuild my life and also fell in love with someone else, to come running back to me. It was too late for him by this point. But, it didn’t keep him from triggering my insecurities to the point that I ruined my new relationship. I’m just commenting to say that yes, they will come back, but you might not want them to!!! I still hope my boyfriend comes back though.

Crazy...2 years ago after almost 5 years of being with my ex gf I came and watched a lot of C.K videos. I was a wreck even though she betrayed,cheated,gaslit and lied to me I still wanted her. I finally found self respect when I warned her she had 1 last chance. She was caught in one last lie so true to my word I blocked her 2 years ago and haven't spoke a word to her since. She has tried reaching out the entire 2 years but literally has gotten ZERO. There needs to be consequences for her actions and she can live with guilt and regret the rest of her life.

Hi Coach Craig as I was talking to my adult daughter today. I realized one thing that I had not thought of when I ran into your channel 3 months ago. I want to say that you are the most inspiring coach, which had put your pain from your own break up to the side to go to school, and focus on school, and training to become a Psychotherapist. Which must have been very hard, My hat goes off to you. And can only say that that you have blessed many people with your hard work and dedication to your career. I can never be able to repay you for your help, and knowledge being spread through your awesome videos. You have not only encouraged, and given me hope. But also motivated me to come out of my depression and work on myself. You are an angel from heaven who God put in my life to save me from the thoughts of suicide. I'm forever so grateful. This video was so helpful. Before our breakup, me and my ex couldn’t engage in sexual activity because of her childhood trauma. After she broke up with me, during no contact she slept with someone. I was so hurt that she was able to have that experience with someone else after apparently not being able to have that with me. But, your explanation of how a dumper can experience a temporary relief of mental health struggles and trauma, explains why she didn’t have the mental block for sex after the breakup.
Oh yes, the friend. My ex's friend told me that my ex didn't really seem bothered or affected by it. I don't think she did it to be cruel or vindictive, I think she was just being honest and didn't understand how profoundly hurtful it was to me. I don't have any malice towards my ex's friends, I wish them the best to be honest. They probably hate me because I blocked them. Their happy, smiling photos were making me feel incredibly depressed.
When you do the work in yourself time doesn't matter.. I left her and after weeks and months I called and checked on her with loving inspirational words.. Now she asked can she see me. I had her blocked so if she was to try to contact me with in that time limit that I needed to heal.. I reached out when I felt like I can say things out of my feelings and hurt. Self mental growth is that gift that keeps giving.

He seemed to moved on even before he broke up with me. It was really difficult to accept. Being told that his feelings for me changed was like a knife to my heart. These videos helped me see the light in the tunnel I am in right now. I'm still hoping that we could be together again. But I also have to train my mind on the possibility that we may never be going back together again. Because he's from another country. After his completion in internship, he's gonna go back to his country. So the possibility of meeting again in the future is almost zero. For now, I am on the path of loving myself more and more. ❤️

I agree that feelings can change quickly. But the reason I’ve lost hope with getting my ex back is the fact that he is so insecure, he will always be searching for external validation from other women. He’s done it our entire relationship. And I just don’t have any hope that he’s ever going to change.

She broke up with me about a month and a half ago. Since then we been constantly texting each other and met up a few times, under the basis of “friends”. However, I came to realize that my feelings for her were just too strong. She was happy with whatever that we had, which was a “text-only friendship”. I guess she was confused with her decision to break up with me and she just wanted someone to continue to be there for her; showing her care and concern. What about my feelings? The heartache, the misery, the confusion; just to name a few. I couldn’t take it and I told her that as much as I wish to be her friend, I wasn’t ready until I could face her without having any expectations or hope. We both love each other. I love her, I love her with all my heart and I will always love her. However she wasn’t ready to fight for me-for us. She wanted to learn “self-love” and better herself, and she wanted to do all of these by herself. It felt like my heart was broken into a million pieces when she asked for the breakup... I guess what I am saying is, letting someone go doesn’t mean that you stop loving them..sometimes you let them go so that both of you can heal in peace. If you truly love someone, you will love him/her irregardless of a relationship..

@@georgepanagiotou8673 I know, it really does suck right now. Not sure about reaching out in the first month though. I think it really does depend on many factors. Coach Craig says it does happen, but for most reach outs, it takes longer 3-6-8 months are more of the norm for an ex to finally reach out...if I remember correctly. My ex has a lot going on in their life and it may take a while to hear back, but since I made the breakup more difficult that is one of the main reasons why I feel my ex may not want to reconsider and work through issues. I know it is difficult but we should try and have a little glimmer of hope.
@@JennyJenny-yr2mh Thank you. I think I may be better off without them because they got bothered a majority of the time i communicated my wants and needs by being defensive or invalidating. Can I ask you (or anyone on here) a question? I didn't go pick up my stuff from his house because they left my stuff on the porch and said not to say good bye to their kids, this actually hurt the most. So I told my ex, I didn't do anything to deserve picking my stuff up from the porch and this whole exchange is making me feel ashamed which i shouldn't feel as I have done nothing wrong to deserve this treatment, so I said I was not picking my stuff up. Do you think my ex just trashed my stuff? it was a riding bike and other house decorations. I thought my ex would have contacted me by now and say that I need to pick up my stuff or they will get rid of it...I don't know. They take off and marry the new chick and don't even give you a second thought. All they do is leave broken, devastated woman behind and they live in bliss. So unfair. Ive been with him for 4 years...i love him more than myself...i created my whole life around him...if hes sad im sad...if hes happy im happy i try my best to treat him the best way possible. I respect him. I would do literally anything for him. I remember watching it years ago when I was going through the most devastating breakup in my life. 3 years on, after working on myself ( I've chosen to turn this horrible experience into self growth) I can tell you, all it's true what coach Margaret and Craig are talking about, just trust the process and work on yourself. I didn't get back to my ex but got much more in my life, I healed my relationship with my parents, gained 2 very good friends, became a better mum to my child, I feel calmer, better about myself. I live a peaceful and happy life as a single person... hoping that I'll meet the right partner( no pressure though 😉). I really enjoy my life. Before, my life was a constant survival 😢.

She broke up with me because she cannot balance her work, being a great daughter and being my girlfriend. She was promoted and her work demands more time. She was afraid that I she cannot give me 100% time and attention. I am not demanding. I can understand and I can adjust. But that's not okay with her. She wants to give me her 100% because she said that I deserve that. I hope there's still a chance that we can get back together.

It's like you are looking into my life. This is EXACTLY how it was, after 18 happy years, i had no idea my whole world was about to implode, as you say just a few months before i had started to be picked on, on the day he went it was particularly bad, to the point i said "look do you want to split up?" Expecting him to say "of course not, what are you talking about?" Instead he said . . . . . . . . "Yes" and went there and then. I am such a wreck at the moment, as this happened at a time when i had lots of other things going on. I constantly watch your video's for comfort and reassurance, sometimes when in a real panic, i just picture yours and Margaret's faces and calm words and bring myself down again. I try and take your advice as much as i can as i can see you really know your onions, though as we have a son and are at present slightly tied together through the house, no contact is not always's possible. When i don't know how to act or what to say, i just think "what would coach Craig and Margaret do? Honestly, all the surfing and spending time with friends has not made it less painful. But I have this sense of confidence about myself. When we met up to exchange our items, she mentioned how good I looked. She was almost a little bit bitter how fine I was.
Best and most informative video on breakups I've ever watched! 2 weeks ago, for reasons she won't explain, although she was very obsessive of me, and i told her i don't want to be controlled, but psychologically she did and she didn't know why, which is why she broke up with me, but she had already gone through those first 2 phases. 2 weeks ago saying "I want to marry you" to now "I feel better than ever". It's nice to know just 2 more stages and she'll start missing me. She fits 100% of what you say in here. I broke up with someone and after 2 months I went back because I realized she was so great and I missed her so much. I went through all of these phases and didn't even know it! I'll watch this again and update my status later. She has not unfriended me or left or any mutual online feature we share... not one, yet "I'm done". I want to marry this girl. I’m at a point where I feel like “it is what it is.” She broke up with me because she said we were stuck. I spent so much of my time trying to solve and listen to her personal problems, I was just mentally overwhelmed. I didn’t have the mental space to focus on having those check in discussions. Here I am trying to run a business and assist her with getting her career on track and she was talking with an ex the entire time.

I have been in such a situation. My relationship ended about three years ago, but i could not let her go. So i had to do all i could to get her back, i had to seek the help of a spiritual adviser who helped me bring her back. We are back together, and i must say i am enjoying every moment.
No contact is to move on not to get the back. If you do it to get them back then you’re not moving on. Full block for no contact otherwise you will be waiting for them to reach out

What a great video, one of my favorites along with "Why they come back after you distance"...this video is very true, because I myself have gone through these stages after breaking up with someone. It's actually a GOOD thing if your ex starts dating someone new, because they usually realize pretty soon that they don't bond with them like they did with you, you have to let them go to get them back, no contact works every time for me, it's hard and you need discipline, a lot of self love and learning not to tie your happiness and value to a man/woman. Know your value! Keep listening to the videos, they will give you comfort and peace. Just when u want to reach out and text your ex, listen to a video and it will change your mind. If their actions showed that they just don't care then use no contact as a way to move on rather than wait and be hopeful that they will come back.
I been on both sides of the fence and broke up with an ex because I knew I wasn't in love with him. During no contact I didn't think of him at all or desire to reconnect with him. This same thing should be expected from exes that initiated break ups with you.

I'm at Day 203 of No Contact. I had a great Skype with Margaret and I made the decision that once the New Year hits I will delete her number because it's been close to a year and I don't think she's coming back which is fine.

I was feeling so anxious over him going out and having fun with friends but he's probably just using those as instant gratification and distraction during relief period, however that won't last forever and I'm the one doing the actual work.
that's exactly how I'm feeling about my ex right now, I was the dumpee and she suffers from depression and anti-depressants that make her feel barely any emotion. I know that it'll all catch up to her. her partying and instant gratification will catch up. we're in this together.

What Craig and Margaret are saying is so true, my ex came back a week ago, now we are chatting and in friendly terms. I used to watched your video early of our break up and it helped me get myself up. I stopped watching for awhile and picked up myself and rebuild myself esteem, career, just getting busy with life. I admit I occasionally think of him but not to the point of sobbing like back when it was really fresh from break up. I’ve been binge watching these videos because my boyfriend and I broke up. But, this video really hit home.
My ex-husband of 20 years went through ALL of this after he left me. ALL OF IT. He waited two years, until I had really worked hard to rebuild my life and also fell in love with someone else, to come running back to me. It was too late for him by this point. But, it didn’t keep him from triggering my insecurities to the point that I ruined my new relationship.

Crazy...2 years ago after almost 5 years of being with my ex gf I came and watched a lot of C.K videos. I was a wreck even though she betrayed,cheated,gaslit and lied to me I still wanted her. I finally found self respect when I warned her she had 1 last chance. She was caught in one last lie so true to my word I blocked her 2 years ago and haven't spoke a word to her since. This video was so helpful. Before our breakup, me and my ex couldn’t engage in sexual activity because of her childhood trauma. After she broke up with me, during no contact she slept with someone. I was so hurt that she was able to have that experience with someone else after apparently not being able to have that with me. But, your explanation of how a dumper can experience a temporary relief of mental health struggles and trauma, explains why she didn’t have the mental block for sex after the breakup.

Oh yes, the friend. My ex's friend told me that my ex didn't really seem bothered or affected by it. I don't think she did it to be cruel or vindictive, I think she was just being honest and didn't understand how profoundly hurtful it was to me. I don't have any malice towards my ex's friends, I wish them the best to be honest. They probably hate me because I blocked them. Their happy, smiling photos were making me feel incredibly depressed.

When you do the work in yourself time doesn't matter.. I left her and after weeks and months I called and checked on her with loving inspirational words.. Now she asked can she see me. I had her blocked so if she was to try to contact me with in that time limit that I needed to heal.. I reached out when I felt like I can say things out of my feelings and hurt. Self mental growth is that gift that keeps giving.

1 month after my breakup.. i was still feeling devastated at some point.. i really thought that having sex with side chick... drinking partying will help... but i felt even more guilt and devastated.. i was like: this is not who i am... dont just jump into alternative to maake you feel good people... its not worth it... i started dating also but i didnt have the motivation to continue and ending up hurting the other person... i think will all need to reach the acceptance phase and truly get over our ex before we start dating again..

We both love each other. I love her, I love her with all my heart and I will always love her. However she wasn’t ready to fight for me-for us. I guess what I am saying is, letting someone go doesn’t mean that you stop loving them..sometimes you let them go so that both of you can heal in peace. If you truly love someone, you will love him/her irregardless of a relationship..

@@georgepanagiotou8673 I know, it really does suck right now. Not sure about reaching out in the first month though. I think it really does depend on many factors. Coach Craig says it does happen, but for most reach outs, it takes longer 3-6-8 months are more of the norm for an ex to finally reach out...if I remember correctly. My ex has a lot going on in their life and it may take a while to hear back, but since I made the breakup more difficult that is one of the main reasons why I feel my ex may not want to reconsider and work through issues. I know it is difficult but we should try and have a little glimmer of hope.
Stay strong. You're not alone, just don't wait around for your ex! Work on yourself and focus on everything you need to have healthier relationships.

Can I ask you (or anyone on here) a question? I didn't go pick up my stuff from his house because they left my stuff on the porch and said not to say good bye to their kids, this actually hurt the most. So I told my ex, I didn't do anything to deserve picking my stuff up from the porch and this whole exchange is making me feel ashamed which i shouldn't feel as I have done nothing wrong to deserve this treatment, so I said I was not picking my stuff up. Do you think my ex just trashed my stuff? it was a riding bike and other house decorations. I thought my ex would have contacted me by now and say that I need to pick up my stuff or they will get rid of it...I don't know. There's a lot of iff's. Don't make it sound like there's such a great chance of reconciliation. A guy who has already hooked up with another woman, while still married, isn't feeling any remorse. They take off and marry the new chick and don't even give you a second thought. All they do is leave broken, devastated woman behind and they live in bliss. So unfair. I'm not holding my breath for an apology. They leave you in turmoil and they don't give a crap

Ive been with him for 4 years...i love him more than myself...i created my whole life around him...if hes sad im sad...if hes happy im happy i try my best to treat him the best way possible. I remember watching it years ago when I was going through the most devastating breakup in my life. 3 years on, after working on myself ( I've chosen to turn this horrible experience into self growth) I can tell you, all it's true what coach Margaret and Craig are talking about, just trust the process and work on yourself. I didn't get back to my ex but got much more in my life, I healed my relationship with my parents, gained 2 very good friends, became a better mum to my child, I feel calmer, better about myself. I live a peaceful and happy life as a single person... hoping that I'll meet the right partner( no pressure though 😉). I really enjoy my life. Before, my life was a constant survival 😢.

She broke up with me because she cannot balance her work, being a great daughter and being my girlfriend. She was promoted and her work demands more time. She was afraid that I she cannot give me 100% time and attention. I am not demanding. I can understand and I can adjust. But that's not okay with her. She wants to give me her 100% because she said that I deserve that. I hope there's still a chance that we can get back together.

This is EXACTLY how it was, after 18 happy years, i had no idea my whole world was about to implode, as you say just a few months before i had started to be picked on, on the day he went it was particularly bad, to the point i said "look do you want to split up?" Expecting him to say "of course not, what are you talking about?" Instead he said . . . . . . . . "Yes" and went there and then.
I am such a wreck at the moment, as this happened at a time when i had lots of other things going on.
I constantly watch your video's for comfort and reassurance, sometimes when in a real panic, i just picture yours and Margaret's faces and calm words and bring myself down again.
I try and take your advice as much as i can as i can see you really know your onions, though as we have a son and are at present slightly tied together through the house, no contact is not always's possible.
When i don't know how to act or what to say, i just think "what would coach Craig and Margaret do?

Best and most informative video on breakups I've ever watched! 2 weeks ago, for reasons she won't explain, although she was very obsessive of me, and i told her i don't want to be controlled, but psychologically she did and she didn't know why, which is why she broke up with me, but she had already gone through those first 2 phases. 2 weeks ago saying "I want to marry you" to now "I feel better than ever". It's nice to know just 2 more stages and she'll start missing me. She fits 100% of what you say in here.
I broke up with someone and after 2 months I went back because I realized she was so great and I missed her so much. I went through all of these phases and didn't even know it! I'll watch this again and update my status later. She has not unfriended me or left or any mutual online feature we share... not one, yet "I'm done". I want to marry this girl. I’m at a point where I feel like “it is what it is.” She broke up with me because she said we were stuck. I spent so much of my time trying to solve and listen to her personal problems, I was just mentally overwhelmed. I didn’t have the mental space to focus on having those check in discussions. Here I am trying to run a business and assist her with getting her career on track and she was talking with an ex the entire time.
