    Being able to customize the EQ for the headphones is a huge deal. Most headphones don’t have that option other then on PC.

    • @GamerGear
      @GamerGear  3 года назад +2

      It is a great option indeed! Goes to show this headphone's versatility at such an affordable price range. If you don't have a PC and you want to play with the EQ, you'd typically have to reach the $200+ range, such as the Astro A40s with MixAmp.
      Unfortunately for me, playing with the EQ couldn't address the issues I had with the sound but it will make a difference and might be the right solution for a lot of people!

    I like mine. Not as comfortable as my Rig 500, but maybe that's cause those have been broke in for a couple years. Good sound quality, nice and loud if wanted. And no cord on my controller is kinda nice. But it pairs with the system, not the controller. So sometimes I'll get a quarter second of dropout.

  • @infamous6193
    @infamous6193 3 года назад

    Bruh.... you need to calibrate the eq and or use Dolby atoms along with it. Makes a hellhuva difference. I just got these and they are fantastic, imo. Also, you need to balance the chat and sfx volume. These headsets are loud and crystal clear af

    • @GamerGear
      @GamerGear  3 года назад +1

      To be honest after using it for a while now, I'm just not convinced they are for me. Even after many adjustments including using Dolby and some of the recommendations for “best sound”, I think the biggest issue I have with them is the sound staging, it's too narrow and I think at whatever setting, the bass is still too aggressive.
      At the price point, I think that it's just better to use a wired connection and use the Razer BlackShark V2 for example, as they have a really great open soundstage, excellent balance in sound and good mic.
      If we're sticking to wireless, my opinion is save the cash and get the Astro A50s or Steelseries Arctis 7x BUT with that said, they are not terrible but they are not great in comparison. What they offer is seemless integration with the Xbox and Bluetooth. Nice additions but I think the cost of the sound quality it too high a trade-off.
      Thanks either way for checking this video out and giving me your feedback 👍

    Good video!
    I feel the same way after picking mine up yesterday.
    I think my Steeleseries Arctis 1 sounds better.
    Could a Xbox update improve the sound?

    • @GamerGear
      @GamerGear  3 года назад +1

      Thank you!
      Unfortunately no. Sound engineers chose a sound structure they can achieve within the hardware limits they have. You can mess with the equalizer to change that balance but the sound signature is locked. I assume it won't bother many though as in this price bracket these headsets are feature rich.

      Noice! Yeah the mix of wireless and Bluetooth at the price are too good to pass up. A40s are nice but I justified paying more for the A50s cause I wanted the wireless and base.

    Oh yeah, if your everyday driver is a pair of top of the line Astro A50s, naturally most everything else wouldn't sound as great. My first pair of headphones were the A50s and nothing else compares. But the price point on those will be a hard pill for a lot of gamers to swallow especially after managing to get a console, and games. So yeah, a little unfair to compare anything to the A50s. I would love to know which would sound better between the Steel Series 7Xs and the new wireless headphones for the Xbox. All in all amazing video and loved your choice of games to test these out on. Great selection, man. :)

      How the latency on the a50’s?

    • @GamerGear
      @GamerGear  3 года назад +1

      Totally fair point about the A50s. I tried to get what I consider the "best of the best" for my needs to allow myself to understand the potential of the market in any area in gaming so naturally I'll compare to what I know.
      The last $100 headsets I tried blew me away how good they sounded but they weren't wireless. The Razer Blackshark v2. So I was just surprised at what I was hearing for headphones in the same price bracket 😳
      Either way, the reality is that the combination of features and practicality for an Xbox user at $100, nothing will beat them.
      Hey, I just love gaming but gotta show love for Xbox games for an Xbox hardware impressions video 😬

    This was a painful review. You're comparing apples to soccer balls. I don't care about how they compare to something 3 times the price. If I'm looking at wireless don't compare wired.
    Maybe try the 2nd Gen Stealth 600 or something in the same general league. Damn.
    I never give poor reviews. 😩

    • @GamerGear
      @GamerGear  3 года назад +2

      Thanks for the feedback. Thankfully this wasn't a professional review and I never called it that.
      I labeled this as an "experience" walkthrough because the difference here is I'm just giving people my experience with it, instead of a meticulous plan of attack, testing each and every facet of the device.
      You could read the description to see where I label it as such.
      If it were a review and one where my intent was to truly offer up that format, I would've tested the different surround sound options, the mic, different competitors within range etc.
      This was simply a person joining me as I experienced these headphones for the first time. Again, MY experience based off what I know.
      I'm sorry if I gave you the idea it wasn't. The only place you'll see the word review is on the title to help fight the RUclips algorithm but again, I make it clear everywhere its not a professional review.

    Quick answer no they aren't worth it at all, 1st of all the mic monitoring is absolutely broken and doesn't work at all, 2nd problem they will randomly disconnect from your xbox, 3rd the side sliders are plastic and will definitely break in a year or less, I would advise anyone to go with actual headphone specialist like Hyper X, Astro or Steel series but do not buy these or you'll be sorry

    • @GamerGear

      I had your same conclusion for a while but I can't deny that for the price they've found an incredible balance.
      I would never trade my Astro A50s for them BUT I understand that some people don't care to spend a lot and $100 for wireless headsets that work great with the system that also offers Bluetooth mixing is pretty awesome.

      Wait, are you saying it's idiotic to pay $300 for a good set of headphones? Are you trying to say that the upgrades you make should be anchored by the price of the system? So what if you play your Xbox on a 70" 4K OLED TV? Is that idiotic? If not, why not? I would assume you'd say no because anyone would be able to see that playing your gaming console on the best TV possible would make the games look incredible. So why wouldn't someone want to upgrade their sound to the best quality available either?
