Due to the COVID-19 outbreak I can't get out filming at them moment, so I'm starting a series called 'The Best of:' where I collate the best clips I've taken ordered by traction.

The Networker-style cabs on the oldest examples always throw me off a bit (in a good way.) Love these trains, great video! They look and sound great at speed.
Good stuff!
Thanks
I noticed, when I paused at the 4:08 mark, A 168/0 variant, number 168001 having 3 coaches.
I thought the 168/0 variant had 4 coaches per set.
Great video.
Thanks!
Brilliant video :)
Thanks

Converted Turbostars Are Classified As “/3”
A Battery Powered Turbostar Has Been Numered With A “9”
This might just be me being OCD, but seeing two 168's coupled together, one with the original cabs and the other with Turbostar cabs REALLY annoys me.
Why do these trains have so many different variations
gerrads cross station?
Next is the 170
168/170/171 are my favourite dmus
What about 172s?
@@class56trainsrock62 not 172
Next is the class 377
why does the 168 have fronts like a networker but doors like a turbo/Electrostar
So the 168s are the oldest members of the Turbostar family. So old, that the oldest ones (168/0s) were constructed before the familiar Turbostar cab ends were designed - so as an interim solution, they got Networker-style cab ends. Their bodies and underpinnings are broadly similar to other 168s, but yeah the faces are decidely not!
These ones are also technically 'Clubman' family trains, as they are the precursor to the whole Turbostar family.
This also reminds me of the 325 mail trains. They're based on 319s underneath, but the cab ends are indeed in the Networker style.
I feel like the 168/0 is the only reason they aren't classed as turbo stars
…but they are turbostars
@@pxthfinder6201 no ppl call them clubman because of the one that kinda looks like networkers
@@carnivorousvegan69 …but _they are also turbostars_
A bit late but the class 168 is a turbostar nicknamed the ‘Clubman’
Great video
Thanks
