greatest trains on network rail by far I also miss the old paxman engines they were great, you would get a moul of smoke and then screaming of the 125 as it leaves a station.
Gr8 to see them running smooth, and without noise, and fast. One cannot believe that they are run on Diesel Locomotive. Hard to believe that they are compatible to Electric Locomotives in terms of speed and smoothness.
No problem. If you copy this into the the search box, you'l get a good on board video of it in action.--- The New Measurement Train. I used to be part of a team that would respond to faults it picked up. Not any more though!
Network Rail own and operate the yellow HST. Its known as the NMT (New Measurment Train) It uses a variety of complex computer and recording equipment to monitor and report track qaulity. It travels all over the network. First Great Western only "hire" track space via track access charges from NR as NR own all the track!
+Mark Tyrrell Me and my uncle travelled on one from Chippenham to London paddington and we had a speedometer hanging out the window and in parts between Swindon and Didcot it was going at 143 mph.
Nice video. Please can you tell me what company runs the all yellow HST's? (1:52 ) And why would they be on that line if First Great Western operate on that line? Thankyou

NMT is 43013 leading and 43062 on the back. 13 didn't have the "Head of Examination, Chief Engineers dept" behind the cooler.

+The HSTdude Maybe he was late? ;) They are certainly capable of those speeds. but they are not allowed. If they were, they shouldn't have been.
+Jos Anoia' *hst's
why do class 43's look like they are going 50mph faster than a voyager or pendelino at max speed, also love the buzz of the 66's
cheers, much appreciated :)

If you're still on your account, Network Rail run the Yellow HSTs for testing, hope this helps
