Nah Sherridan wasn't bad. When your QB doesn't see a wide open WR running down the sideline with his hand up like "hey throw me the ball I'm wide @$$ open", thats not the OCs fault.
The quarterback who can run his offense the best, and is most consistent, will be the starter, and that could change as the season goes on. I expect Simpson will start, with the others getting plenty of playing time while they are learning
If I were head coach, I'd put the second guy in like Bryant used to use Shealy in '77/'78 and Jacobs in '79. Others too. Keeps the QB room happy and never know when 2nd man might provide a spark.
It didn't catch me off guard. Only a few days after he was fired from Seattle he was seen eating lunch in Tuscaloosa. So that told me the discussion had begun and he'd likely end up back at bama.
Sheridan was not qb coach and he got fired from usf and Indiana in both positions he wasn't ready for that responsibility cuz sec is dominant but he back to te coach yes and glad Grubb is back Rolltide
I'm sure Sheridan is a good man. Probably knows the game well. But last year was really disappointing from an off production standpoint. I can't see how things could get any worse, but we'll see. No matter what I believe we MUST run more to win in the SEC. Hoping for the best.
I'm not sure how much it will help but it should be an upgrade. Honestly would be even more excited if I heard some news that makes me think the OL is actually going to get some nastiness back and block somebody from snap to whistle. It'a a lot easier to call plays with a great OL. Sark was great in 2020 but that OL was a big part of it. His next year at Texas he would look at his playbook like he was thinking, These plays all worked last year.
This is not Washington in the PAC 12. To the extent that Ryan Grubb went to the NFL and learned about NFL defenses, he should be a big improvement. To the extent that DeBoer went through last season and saw what didn't work in the SEC, we should be better. Put those two factors together, and that sounds like our offense will be better in the 2025 season.
The only thing with Sheridan I questioned all season, was why the offensive line was so inconsistent all season, and why on earth we had a primarily blocking TE, running 20 yard routes down the field. Granted that last one I only saw happen once, but it was a terrible idea before it ever was even an idea. I could’ve somewhat understood a guy like maybe Jam Miller running deep out routes like that, because he at least is pretty well known for being an explosive skill player with somewhat reliable pass catching ability. But he had a blocking TE running a 20 yard out route like that was going to go well, and obviously it did not. But outside of that one play that irks me, the offensive line was about as consistent as rocky road ice cream, with actual gravel in it. All smooth and delicious one moment, and you’re munching on literal rocks and dirt in the very next moment. You never know what you could expect from them. And the worst thing about it, is that they played their worst, against the lesser teams. Which to me screams coaching issue. If you can get guys to get up and play their best, in the big marque games, but then you can’t get them to sustain that week to week, and get up to play the teas that they should beat, like SFU, OU, and even Michigan. The offensive line and, the offense as a whole, wasn’t actually bad against Vandy. They scored 35 points in 16 minutes time of possession in that game. The defense was straight up doo doo butter in that game. Them boys couldn’t stop a nose bleed with a whole box of tampons in that game. The TN game was a tight game on both sides, from both teams, and is the only game I put on Milroe, for his endzone INT. Being that it was truly an unforced error, and it wasn’t a failure of anyone else on offense around him, or the defense making an outstanding play. It was just a bad decision by the QB. The other games I could show you a dozen reasons why the QB got blamed for what someone else on the offense was either doing just flat out wrong, or just not doing at all, that explain why those individual plays and games went how they did. But I also think I have a pretty solid understanding of what Milroes issues are when it comes to short and intermediate passing accuracy. It’s not that he can’t read the field, it’s not that he just isn’t able to be accurate. He hasn’t managed to tie his footwork to his eyes as he reads through his progressions, and he ends up with his feet in position to make the throw for the read he is already moved off of, and not for the read he is already on to. Which leaves him having to try and just arm throw, without using his base correctly, in order to get the ball out on time, based on the timing of the play. And anyone who knows anything about throwing mechanics will tell you that is a recipe for an inaccurate pass, and a QB that ends up with a progressively fatigued throwing arm, by the end of just a game, let alone after an entire season. That is where his problems come from in my opinion. I’m no expert, and I never played at a high enough level to say I even should be listened to. But I firmly believe that, and I don’t think anyone who is a qualified expert on the subject would actually disagree with me, if they really sat down and watched the tape
Lifelong Husky here. You haven’t lived until you experience obvious butt-kickings turning into nail- biters. Grubb succeeded because of a generational QB1 and three 1st/2nd rd. NFL WR’s. For the love of all that is holy, lower your expectations.
Turned the job/offer down before…probably won’t be in Tuscaloosa long. This was just the best option he has at the moment, but as soon as a better offer presents itself…he’ll be gone! Bet!
It needs to be Simpson because you have to have a back up QB ,if Russell is the QB then the other QBs will transfer ,theres a good chance Austin Mack will transfer after spring practice and you will have to go into the portal just to have 3 QBs on roster, cant go through a season with 1 QB or even just 2 , you have to be able to manage your roster because of the portal
This clown turned us down multiple times and showed his true colors. I don’t care how good a college football coach he is, I wouldn’t hire him to dig a ditch for the new basketball stadium. DeBoer continues to disappoint in everything except recruiting. While recruiting is crucial, he needs to show he can do something with all the talent.
Grubb Grubb bringing the dubs
The band is back together !! Alabama football returns this year! RMFT
Love it. Sounds like Sheridan will stay on staff as well which I like
Super excited!!
Glad he got hired before the spring!
The band is back together! I hope this fixes some of the issues. RTR!!
This idiot is Pass happy and will put so much strain on our Defense that is already in a terrible scheme with a terrible Defensive Coach .
Yes!! I’m really happy DeBoer and Grubb will be together again!! RTR!!
You will regret that statement
Main problem was Milroe. That’s fixed. Grubb just adds to the good news.
I think he knew Jalen was trash and didn’t wanna be to blame for him lmao.
Nah Sherridan wasn't bad. When your QB doesn't see a wide open WR running down the sideline with his hand up like "hey throw me the ball I'm wide @$$ open", thats not the OCs fault.
Care to explain the running when should be passing and vice versa over and over again? You can argue limitations all you want but it is what it is
This is HUGE!!!!!!! RMFTR!!!
The quarterback who can run his offense the best, and is most consistent, will be the starter, and that could change as the season goes on. I expect Simpson will start, with the others getting plenty of playing time while they are learning

Hopefully Simpson is Mac Jones 2.0
Heck yeah RMFTR !!!!
Rarely do the fans get what they want. 🎉
It was GBurns and Alabama working all the contracts details- etc
The playbook just opened up exponentially
Its easy to open the playbook with 2 play Milroe gone. Glad we got Grubb and now our QB's can handle a full playbook.
Nope
YES
Yes!
I didn't think about the timing of the hire vs Kelly going to the NFL...great point Luke
It didn't catch me off guard. Only a few days after he was fired from Seattle he was seen eating lunch in Tuscaloosa. So that told me the discussion had begun and he'd likely end up back at bama.
🔥100k @ A-Day. Please support our Coaches and Players.🔥
Absolutely! Let's get behind the Coaches and the team! RTR!
Sheridan was not qb coach and he got fired from usf and Indiana in both positions he wasn't ready for that responsibility cuz sec is dominant but he back to te coach yes and glad Grubb is back Rolltide
TY SIMPSON WILL BE THE STARTER!! Dude is legit but everyone is writing him off.....
Oh wow!! The haters gonna be a little shook. They may not say it, but they are. Believe that! ❤ RTR!!!!
More and more Aub fans becoming bball fans with each passing year. 😂
When we needed him he said no twice then he left, how long will he be with Alabama, RTR
He’s nfl caliber of course he won’t stay long. Just as long as it takes for a job to open up in the nfl again probably
🔥Will Bama flip 26 QB Faizon Brandon from Tennessee since Grubb is back in town. Remember Faizon liked Grubb before he left for Seattle.🔥
I'm sure Sheridan is a good man. Probably knows the game well. But last year was really disappointing from an off production standpoint. I can't see how things could get any worse, but we'll see. No matter what I believe we MUST run more to win in the SEC.

He will be behind in recruiting coming A year later to Bama. Grubb that is.
I'm not sure how much it will help but it should be an upgrade.

I’m not sure about Coach Kap myself. OL was not good at times.
This man will leaves again before the season starts
Flashbacks to Sark and he literally hated being at Alabama. While Saban's second chance camp that saved Sarks career.

16-0 natty loading RTR
i don’t think this will be any advantage to a particular player but hopefully for the Alabama Crimson Tide
RTR❤
Hope we don’t have to see him in a Seattle or Washington cap for two months. Surely Byrne can send him some hats.
Maybe JM is the reason RG didn’t stay at Bama last year. Maybe he wanted no part of that cluster. Only half kidding. 😅
RT was the worst part of our O-line, we'll be better this year
GREAT NEWS!!
ROLL TIDE!!
Lifelong Husky here. You haven’t lived until you experience obvious butt-kickings turning into nail- biters. Grubb succeeded because of a generational QB1 and three 1st/2nd rd. NFL WR’s. For the love of all that is holy, lower your expectations.
come on Jimmy! We need you! Luke has been on mute the whole time!
Turned the job/offer down before…probably won’t be in Tuscaloosa long. This was just the best option he has at the moment, but as soon as a better offer presents itself…he’ll be gone! Bet!
There are plenty of other OC's out there.
You have no clue. Just because you want Keelan doesn't blemish what Ty Simpson. He is more mature and at this point a better option!
People also forget he was a 5 star. People just glossing about the shiny new toy as much as I hate to say it like that that’s what it is.
Roll Tide!!!
I’m sorry now you just talking
Forgot Ad was on the Lakers🙄
Well you almost made it through the whole vid without saying the P word! Come on man. 😉
Sheridan is no QB coach! He coached TEs I thought!

Russell needs a year to come in and get acclimated to the offense and to college
Unless OL is addressed, QB1 won’t matter
It will be addressed
AFT
The band is back together? This guy just got fired lol. What is happening
This clown turned us down multiple times and showed his true colors. I don’t care how good a college football coach he is, I wouldn’t hire him to dig a ditch for the new basketball stadium. That's what people said about Sark. Look what he did for Bama.
I don’t think it help Bama. Because they need to get coaches that no how to coach in the SEC.
They’ll be better this upcoming season than last season.
I think Ty Simpson starts the season, but either Mack or Russell ends the year as the starter.
Nick Sheridan can kick rocks
Get ready to go 6-6
More like 11-1!!
GRUBB probably adds two wins to our slate any given yr.
Where the trolls at?
Why was he fired from the Seahawks?
Didn’t the entire crew get fired. I thought they did.
@timtapscott8737 No looks like the head coach Mike McDonald was hired last January so I dunno
Grubb refused to run the football in Seattle.
