In 1989 Corky was in a altercation with another whale named Kandu V. Corky was close to Orkid, which Kandu did not appreciate, so she rammed Corky in a show of dominance and fractured her jaw rupturing a artery. Kandu V bled out in the back pool and Orkid was raised by Corky. So not a direct death but Corky was involved.
@@Ikethekillerwhale it really depends on work, sometimes I go over several times a year and other times I may go over to San Diego but the project takes up all my time and I do not get a chance to hit up the park. This visit I was only there half a day because our equipment failed
It is saddening to know she was taken from her family as a child! Let that sink in...she was KIDNAPPED as a CHILD!!!! NONE of the things she does is natural and this is just sick to see that so many people love this!!! They are reactions and things that she is taught so people can be entertained! so please....just admit that you like "kidnapping" and "slavery" as long as it isn't done to the humans....
@@LovelyLilDevilWings They did capture her from the ocean and kept her where they can never properly care for her mentally or physically. Orcas are complex animals. They're meant to travel 100+ miles a day. Not kept in small tanks with a severe lack of enrichment. They're also meant to live together in family pods with their own kind. No human can replace that kind of bond, nor will forcing random orcas (especially ones who don't know eachother) in close quarters together.
Corky deserves everything special she's so perfect.
Corky is so special. The world will lose a living angel when she goes. Fingers crossed she keeps defying the statistics for many years to come.
I love her so much.

What was she saying about her eye patch
Her eye patch isn’t as crisp between the black/white compared to some other whales, so it looks like it was painted on
@@Kiryuu238 Gotcha all i heard was painted on i was like huh
How often do you go to SWC

Watch corky hears her family. So sad she was captured at only 4 years old.
@Blackfish Debunked it was a recording.
@Blackfish Debunked that comment was 3 months ago, I don’t remember what happened last week
