- Interview with Dutch guitarist Yvette Terpstra by Rolf Delfos and Coen Witteveen.
Yvette Terpstra started playing guitar when she was 13 years old. She never let go of the guitar from that moment on. She studied guitar at Codarts conservatory in Rotterdam. She combines a 80's sound with a very modern sound.
Through her love of Joe Satriani, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, Dire Straits and Toto, she practiced a lot and created for herself a path to a musical future. So after her high school education, it was no surprise that Yvette applied to PACT Amsterdam, a collective of artistic studies that train to become a performing artist.
She participated in the Sena Young Talent Guitar Awards in 2015. Yvette managed to qualify for the semi-finals.
Currently she arranges, composes and plays with Froukje, with which she has performed in Carré, NPO 3FM, TV shows and festivals from Paaspop, Pinkpop to Lowlands. She is also asked to fill in for Carlota Lopez. At some point she would love to make her own album.
Besides playing, she also recently started teaching guitar at music school Albrandswaard in Poortugaal and Codarts HMD.

of je kunt doen als ik en de nederlands taal leren. :-) I am learning dutch and through my teachers discovered Dutch music. In het bizonder BLOF and Froukje. And of course Yvette plays those little riffs in Donker en Licht that are very engaging. And, seeing this interview, she seems like a really nice young woman. BTW- trouwens, ik kun de conversatie goed volgen... I did OK, understood about 80% after 3-1/2 years of learning.
