I just wanna say, the world is such a stressful place these days and watching your videos, or just listening them into the background makes me feel better. Maybe it's just the change of pace of hearing someone talk about keeping things alive and thriving. I don't know, but I appreciate it and the plant advice.
I love watching you butcher the plant. It shows confidence that the plant will grow back in the pot. Also it gives novice like me confidence to work with my plants.
4:52 as a professional gardener, seeing you do these extreme propagations is so satisfying to me. I hate when people just cut the tops off of their plants, especially the viners, because all it does is leave you with a visible point of branching, whereas if you cut close to the base, it's not so noticeable and you get way more material. yes it takes long to grow back, but most people propagate because the plant grows too large, right? so that's a bonus too! I guess I'm just so conditioned to find compact and bushy plants better because that's how they're grown for selling in nurseries. There's actually a chemical that sometimes gets sprayed on certain plants to stunt their growth, which makes their internodes much shorter so they're more compact.
It gives me panic to watch you chop your plants up. BUT I love seeing how they grow a few months later. Like it's ok, they won't die 😅. I appreciate that you always take the time to show your progress in the same video. Very few youtubers do that. Thank you for sharing 🧡
Totally agree with taking a cutting for 'plant insurance' in case the motherplant dies. Watermelon peperomia are by far one of my fav plants, literally the plant that keeps on giving 😍
I want you to teach me everything there is to know about plants you seem like such a lovely person to learn from! ❤🌿 also the way you sang peperomia argyreia have me so much serotonin
For someone who doesn’t have the patience to be gentle a good chunk of the time I actually appreciate how rough you can sort of be with your plants when you propagate them. Plus I love this video because for the life of me I could never figure out how to propagate peperomias plus the tip of propagating them when they come home so the propped plants would be more acclimated to your home :) love it thanks for the useful tips!
Love love love this! No, it doesn’t stress me out to see you “butchering” your plant especially if you get 21 babies from 1 plant! That’s super exciting. It’s apparent you love your plants and know what you’re doing so please don’t let other plant lovers that might do things differently stop you from doing what you love 🪴 I subscribed and I love your studio.
I propagated my new peperomia in water over 3 weeks ago and now it’s growing some leaves. So cool to see the baby leaves grow under water 😀. I also put some in soil and it’s rooting but I haven’t seen any new baby leaves yet. Love propagating in water so I can see the progress. Thanks for sharing 😊
I just adore your videos, your humor and your generosity. We can learn so much from you and it’s such a gift. Keep being you and thank you for your content!
I love all of his videos so relaxing. His dad must be a buisness man because he's always yelling just like I am jijiji. Typical signs of buisness loud talk
If I didnt propagated my small watermelon peps I would end up with no plant at all. But still strugling growing them big. Your video gave me more ideas so I will keep on trying🤞. I like your cover photo and when you say extreme my heart almost drop when you butcher the whole plant😂😂😂. I enjoy watching your video. Thanks for doing all the extreme we all benifit from it😉
It'll be interesting to see how these experiments will be doing in a few months. I also love that you mentioned that location does matter, as humidity, light, temperatures etc. Vary from place to place. 👍🍀
Your wealth of information is a gift! Thank you for sharing and spreading your knowledge! You have a super gentle way of talking and I learn something new every video! Thank you
I really really enjoy learning from you. Thank you for sharing you and your plants with us. Truly♥️ you and Amanda from Planterina on yt are so easy to learn from.
My Friday evening just got wild! Ordered this plant online and received today and excited to butcher it up and propagate as its overcrowded...will see how well it copes with the british weather, ha! But love your passion! Going to spend the rest of my evening watching your videos :)
Hi Sean thanks for the video, i.m.going to move mines into terracotta, smaller pots. I have done several propagations in winter (i know....) and i try very different ways to propagate and the only one who succeed was in sphagnum moss! Thanks again for videos🌼🌺🌸
Started watching yesterday, and I'm just happy I found this channel. Your so funny and entertaining and knowledgeable. Wishing you many followers and success in life. 👋
A few weeks ago I propagated my watermelon peperomia after watching your previous video. I will share with you in ig story. 😀 Actually I learnt different propagation methods from your channel. A lot of useful tips. Thanks 🙏🏻
I find that those halves (without the petiole) that you discarded will also root in time. I nestle the cut end into the medium, making sure that the "point" were the petiole was attached is touching it. The new baby plant will grow from that "center" of the leaf area.
i propagated my peperomia bc my cat plucked out a lead, i just stuck it in soil and put it in a ziploc bag and it sprouted in 3 months. also the leafs that didnt have the petioles actually developed roots from where it broke off
oh my god, one of my leaves fell out of the soil several days ago. I tried to put it into the water but the bottom stem was waterlogged. I disappointedly threw it away and I found your video then decided to bring it back again into the soil instead. Waiting with hope in upcoming days :)
Thanks for letting us know what you really love to do especially in propagating peperomia. Now I know that it's better to propagate not in dense soil but in mix loam soil with rice hull, cocofeat. I am here in Phil's. Just happened that my friend gave me a plant watermelon so I will try to transfer it in another pot. God bless.
Hi Sean! I need to add this pep to my family. So far I have a Pep Jenny, Rana Verde, and Piccolo Bando. Waiting for delivery on another one, plus looking at a Rosso.
It kills me to see you butcher your plants! It's like a horror movie! I think the fact that the majority of your propagations grow into new plants makes it worse! Seriously love your work, keep doing what you love and sharing it with us. Thank you.
I’m new to owning this plant, but I repotted the three plants in the one I bought the day I brought it home. I use a mix of coco chips, coco coir, perlite, and worm castings. So far, I’ve got several new leaves popping up and they’re very happy with such a fluffy, high drainage soil that stays moist but doesn’t stay wet at all.
I am loving this! The thought of propagating house plants is either a great thing for me or I will buy a new plant and decide to propagate the life out of it 😏😏
Sean 🏊♂️🏊♂️🏊♂️ in the Argyreaian Sea... 🤣🤣🤣 Sounds like an interesting fantasy story, but I bet you can make it true. 😉 I used to get upset at your propagation greediness 😨 (your words!) too, but seeing you get such consistent successes 🤴, it is now okay for me to see you cut up your plants. 🤷♀️ And we learn so much from you! Keep up the good work! 👌 I have tried with Argyreai 3 times now... I am not giving up yet. Appreciate the excellent tips! 🙏
Great video! Thanks so much for sharing. New follower here and loving your collection 🌿 Propagating is the best part of growing I feel. Sometimes we put nature to the test and we get rewarded with such beauty💕 No hard feeling about butchering this plant lol. Your going to have so many more in the future 🌱
Sections that made me LOL: “My dad is yelling at someone on the phone again. He has been yelling at someone over the phone since Covid started.” 🤣
😂😂

😀😀
First actual comment about the video... That is so funny! "I want to dive into a whole ocean of these, let them catch me" 😳😂😂
🤣😂🤣
💓💓
I got a kick out of this comment to. He seems so sweet.
"I really love working with this guy"
... "of course I hope I don't kill all of them"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
"This is doing REALLY REALLY well" **While butchering the hell out of it** 😂😂❤️

I don’t even like Peperomia but I watched this video because Sean made it !!! The captions are gold as usual!!! :)

Love the way you say: please root well, please root quickly and healthily❤️❤️❤️
Love that half-singing. You're so happy! It does feel great to propagate! Hey, it rhymed! LOL
You have magic hands, I think you're an elf or a fairy with the power of plant propagation haha xD
😅🙏🏽
I can’t tell you how much I loved this video! Your passion for plants is refreshing. I love your humor. Keep at it!!

😀 it was worth it though right?
I just adore your videos, your humor and your generosity. We can learn so much from you and it’s such a gift. Keep being you and thank you for your content!
Whoaaa thank you for the dose of positivity 🥰
I find your way of propagating is giving me hope and a reminder how not all plants are that fragile. Thank you
😀😀 some plants are also far easier to propagate than to rescue
Your courtyard is stunning 😍
You are a very good teacher of Botany. Thank you for the lesson.
I love how excited you get
I love all of his videos so relaxing. His dad must be a buisness man because he's always yelling just like I am jijiji. Typical signs of buisness loud talk

If they dont make it just trim all foliage off and wait for new leaves 😀
It'll be interesting to see how these experiments will be doing in a few months. I also love that you mentioned that location does matter, as humidity, light, temperatures etc. Vary from place to place. 👍🍀

@@onlyplants It is amazing. These plants really want to make more of themselves!

Mine has died :( SADLY. Yours are so lovable! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us viewers, Shaun. Love watching your videos. Neat!
Keep trying 😀 i find they are far easier to propagate than to rehabilitate

Will you do a vlog on your background, family and how you know so very much about all of these plants? So interesting. 🤗
Haha my family is very private but I did give a little biography of myself and plant experience in my video titled 10k subscribers I think 😀
@@onlyplants Oh my gosh, I must sound like a stalker! Totally get it, my family and I are very private as well so I really understand.
