Nearly five million South Africans aged between 15 and 34 are unemployed

The country's youth, aged between 15 and 34, remain the most vulnerable with an increase in unemployment among this group having jumped to 4.9 million. At the same time, the number of unemployed graduates has increased to 11.8%. CEO at Afrika Tikkun, Onyi Nwaneri, unpacks concerns over joblessness in SA.

And how many people between the age of 36 to 60? Employers ask for candidates between the age of 18 and 35 only. Why no jobs for us outside that specification? Everyone in parliament is over 60 to 82 so what is good for us so it must be for government. A great leader lead by example.

Youth should be from 15 to 55 . All employers should not discriminate against people aged over 35 for employment since we have dinosaurs in our parliament !!

🎉its no suprise this clearly states what the government has done for young professionals in the last thirty years of democracy look at before 1994 job creation was much better now young people are taken as a joke. In some provinces there are zero jobs on major sites like indeed pnet and simplyfy hr. There are only three cities which are hiring cape town Joburg Durban which is sad. Others are hit hard with high levels of unemployment. Figures are also not correct they say 32.9 but we all know its much higher than that.
