Yes, peanuts in the coke is a southern thing. Many ppl did it more in the 70's. I rarely see it anymore. My mom always made me do it as we went to the country to go see my grand-dad. It was always a special treat to stop for peanuts and a coke. I did it bc my mom made it a big deal and a special tradition. I didnt care for the taste but the fact that my whole family did it felt comforting.
