I have a G-8900DGK. It has a clear case and strap. It must have sat in the surf shop I bought it at for years because the band already was yellowed. Clear G Shocks are fairly rare.
I bought 3 of the sets lol. I want to resell 2 sets and keep the boxes to store my collection. How much do you think each can sell for? I bought one of the silver mirror ones and put a silver bezel, bracelet, and bullbar on it. I'm a big fan.
@@WatchingCasio the mod is also much cheaper to do if you buy the mirror silver that comes on the standard black straps since for some reason the clear strapped versions sell for more.
@@WatchingCasio also idk about you but when I bought it there was a code 'savemore' that gave an extra 25% off the already for sale price on this set. I'm sure Bloomingdale's would price match instead of you returning and rebuying
i was just disappointed that the straps not the same colour as the bezel. i tried it on at a store. i must have seen the difference. i got it off ebay months later...
I just bought the dw5600sk-1 it's pretty cool and easy to match with all the outfit! I just wonder the transparent part with turn yellow or no, other than that no problem at all.
I have a black one and the one thing that really erks me about these models is the buttons are so hard to press. It’s a shame because they are really nice looking watches but i wont buy because of the buttons.
I think the uncooperative adjust/reset button is simply a manufacturing fault/QC issue. Have had it show up for the first time recently, on a brand new, completely standard DW-5600, and the same button is perfectly fine on another identical unit bought just before that one. Not cool, Casio.
@@WatchingCasio Aaaand... I may have just found a solution for this on my DW-5600. I removed the 4 screws to pull the module out from the bezel, and realized the button is nice, springy and responsive when the module is out. This brought me to a hunch that the bezel itself, or its fit to the module may be the root cause. With that in mind, I reassembled the module inside the bezel and tightened the 4 screws back in place. I then took a minuscule flat watchmaker screwdriver, and wedged it between the bottom of the adjust (A) button and the lower lip of the resin bezel just underneath it. I pulled outward and down on the lip of the resin bezel twice, to sort of stretch and extend it around the adjust button, thinking that it was overlapping the button, preventing it from going through the bezel all the way, and pressing down on it a bit to begin with (I suspect that was exactly the case). And low and behold... the adjust button now works perfectly on mine. An easy enough DIY fix, I think. Let me know if this works for you too. Good luck.

This bothered me quite a bit, and what got me to suspect the resin bezel as the potential culprit was the fact that the adjust buttons on two DW-5600s that I've modded with full stainless steel bezel and bracelet kits from AliExpress (beautiful products, by the way!) work absolutely flawlessly, and I know for certain that one of them was very difficult to operate in its original resin bezel prior to the upgrade. Yes, this fix is not perfect, and the button is still somewhat fiddly to work with when actually wearing the watch, though it really does work a hell of a lot better now with the watch off wrist. If you want perfect, get a stainless steel bezel for it. 🙂

Would never get those due to this problem you mentioned. In addition, clear watches pick up a yellowish hue over time and I don't really like that.
You can get rid of that hue with hydrogen peroxide. :)

So it's been a year... How's the durability been? Any yellowing?
Still functioning well and never change the battery yet but it's starting abit yellow.
Do these tend to collect more dust on the band than the typical Casio resin bands that do not have the gummy texture?
I wish I saw these in a store. I still see G shocks for a single watch in the mid 500's here for a basicish plastic G
