@JohnBarnes you are charming! It's been a stressful time for me...watching you work is relaxing...thanks! I'm adopting your sanding, drilling and clamping style from this and your other videos. Keep up the good work! Enjoying your humour
I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up ruclips.net/user/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.
After seeing you build it with such ease I got the courage to build one for my self... turned out perfectly just waiting for the boards to finish building. Thanks for posting the video was really helpful.
That is an awesome workbench! I’m trying to get inspiration to build one for my husband to surprise him! This is an excellent design! Thanks for sharing!
I was planning to build a work bench soon and your second level is a great idea. Always need more storage area and a it's good place to put some bright work lights. I will make something similar. Keeping it real with the fall at 7:12.
I just finished my first workbench. Real chicken and egg problem going on there. But now I can use it to build a better workbench. This is giving me all kinds of ideas. Good build my guy!
I dig it, good space for detailed projects that need good lighting. Inspired me to add a 2nd lvl over part of mine. Thanks! I'm glad you left the "oops" in too. Makes it real! haha
Hell yeah - someone else who uses the pipe clamps like I do! Better than the cheap expensive waste of money clamps that break because half of it is plastic the other half is the weakest metal or aluminum! -- Oh and I dig the top of the bench with the lights! Thanks for the inspiration on this bro! #Subscribed !!!!! At 7 minutes in, what happened? lol - had to rewind and watch it a few times haha - it happens! I'm almost done with mine - I added a shelf in the garage - well another level down from the ceiling - and im going to put a 2 light track light under it! Had to come back to this video and let ya know that this was the inspiration for it! - I'll make a vid and put in on youtube and drop the link as a reply to this comment!
I had to watch right to the end because your design is really a bunk bed. Maybe not a bad idea: when the missus is grumpy you can sleep in the workshop!😊
Nothing I couldn't shake off haha. I'm thinking of replacing the existing fluorescent bulbs running down the center ceiling with LED's. The only thing I'm worried about with LED's is the strobe effect in slow motion.
Ouch, hope you're alright after that fall. I know the feeling. With that wide angle lens I thought you were working in outer space on the space station.
+Mariano Aguirre Thank you. Funny how this was one of those projects I almost skipped because I thought it would bore people, yet it turned out to be my most popular video
I really like the workshop you made since my workshop is on the outside porch under a canopy this would be an excellent choice to still be able to work on rainy days I do use a marine varnish to weather proof covers for some of my items the rain repels and the varnish is great for any outdoor project. Thanks I will start on this project soon since I sell my crafts at flea markets rain or shine it pays to look at RUclips.
great idea..but those lights will be shining in your eyes and casting shadows ....maybe if you move them to the front and let them shine towards the rear
Thank you for the video. I was looking for ideas of another workbench with some sort of shelving and I think I am going to use your basic design but change it up a bit to fit my need. Thank you again, great video. PSS. I occasionally wear my slippers as well :)
As a suggestion, you may want to add another 2x that goes lengthwise from left to right. I framed mine just like yours (the bottom section) except that I ran my front to back supports every 16" on-center, and over time, the top has sagged. Like you, I used 3/4 plywood. Hope this helps.
We're all in this together, buddy. Glad someone can benefit from my misfortune. On my next bench, I'm going to laminate 2x material together and drill dog holes and put a vise on it. It won't sag then. LOL.
.......the overhead storage shelf, it would be better to build shelving on one side of the shop. For one its height, harder to reach. It is best to be minimalistic in the shop. It saves $$ and space.
With me, coming from a carpentry background, now that I am in a shop space, I struggle to "remember/make myself" always square up four square sides on my dimensional lumber. I was wondering what your thoughts are about squaring stock for stuff around the shop. That said, you got some nice moves, looks like you have been doing this for awhile. I like your use of clamps to install the top rack. I especially approve of the level of badassery you managed to get up to in your slippers. Keep on keeping on.
First off, thanks for the comment. Glad someone appreciates my badass slippers as much as I do. I think it's important to keep in mind that while squaring up all sides leads to accurate dimensioning all around, it adds much more time and eats away at the girth of your lumber. Yeah you can then go and glue up your freshly squared stock, but again, much more time. For me in my shop right now, I just want the table heights to all be level across the room. I want them to be sturdy, and I don't care about the aesthetics. Down the road, when I build my own carpenter's workbench, I will follow the laborious steps to produce a thing of beauty and precision. Until then, I'm happy throwing something together in an afternoon that will easily last for years.
I've been researching the best workbench on RUclips, and this one is a great design! I'm not sure if I'm going to go with it just yet though. I like the storage on the "roof" of your workbench. Very cool!
You crack me up the way you build stuff in your slippers, because that's just what I do. To lazy to change to my boots, just walk straight into my workshop which is connected to my house ;-)
@JohnBarnes you are charming! It's been a stressful time for me...watching you work is relaxing...thanks! I'm adopting your sanding, drilling and clamping style from this and your other videos. Keep up the good work! Enjoying your humour
Thank you so much! This comment made my day. Happy building
@@johnbarneswood same to you!

Thanks Nugget! Enjoy the build!
Dude you are awesome! You could have edited out the fall but you showed real backbone leaving it in! Good job and thank you for being real!
Very nice looking work bench!
I subscribed simply because you didn't edit out the fall
Nice job. Great recovery on the fall also.
Great workbench and awesome bunk beds. Seriously nice work.
+Bob Jazzman
Maybe I should change the title of the video haha. Never considered bunk beds ;)
Dude !!! You are awesome !!! I love your design . Thanks, Gerry fom Raleigh, NC
HEY! The trick w the clamps was simple and really smart-thanks!
I love this workbench. Unfortunately its not what I'm looking for but its great for the space you have. You did a great job.
I've been looking for an idea for my new bench. Just a couple alterations to fit me.,..This is it, Thanks. Love the sounds and not music.
+Barry H.
Thanks Barry! Glad you enjoyed it

+Farmercl's Woodshop
Thank you. And I plan on it!
The best 'edited' video on woodworking. Great job with the project. You gave me an excellent idea. Thanks!
Absolutely hilarious. Thank you for leaving that in, made my day.
I dig it, good space for detailed projects that need good lighting. Inspired me to add a 2nd lvl over part of mine. Thanks! I'm glad you left the "oops" in too. Makes it real! haha
+C Johnson
Do it careful and avoid an "oops" of your own ;)

Thanks for the kind words man! And yeah, we all eat crap from time to time haha.
Can't wait to see your product!
the roof over the work bench is a nice idea... can store tools/lumber and occasionally catnap on it!!! Liked the video and subscribed!
I have been searching for pull up videos and this come up! :-) Nice workbench. I am going to copy that. THX
+Honza B
That’s really funny. I️t was pretty epic ;)
Thanks for watching!
Your Workbench came out nice! Throw a small foam mattress on the top shelf plus a extra brace you got a nice napping spot!
The work is serious and necessary. Good luck!
Hi everybody. 😁 hahaha wonderful job congratulations very good video 👏🤝👍🇺🇸
Yup good job
Bravo friend 👏👍🇬🇷 from florina Greece and Western Macedonian
That's a good looking workbench. I need to either build myself another one, or clean out my garage... maybe I'll have to do both?
+Stephen
Do both. It will be worth it
Great build. Seems sturdy
Wow that went up quick!
+rhugh02
If you're looking for an eight minute project, I highly recommend it! ;)
I had to watch right to the end because your design is really a bunk bed. Maybe not a bad idea: when the missus is grumpy you can sleep in the workshop!😊
Haha good idea! Or she can sleep in there ;)
I feel so inadequate. I'd take 3 weeks to build that, and you do it in just 8 mins. Great job.
Thanks for leaving the fall in!
+yapbird
Haha no problem
Great vid mate. Great lighting overhead for special jobs. 💎💎💎
Good job buddy
Thanks dude
EXCELLENT IDEA FOR A STUDYBENCH OR DRAWING !
I hope you didn't hurt yourself. I would have put LED 4 foot light above in center better lighting. I liked what youdid
Nothing I couldn't shake off haha. I'm thinking of replacing the existing fluorescent bulbs running down the center ceiling with LED's. The only thing I'm worried about with LED's is the strobe effect in slow motion.
Lots of support beams
Nice job mate!
Thanks Tobba!
Sweet bench, definitely taking notes
Plans are now available in the description
Ouch, hope you're alright after that fall. I know the feeling.
With that wide angle lens I thought you were working in outer space on the space station.
Another one of those, "Why didn't I think of that" moments. Well done. Just what I need.
+grey enjoy your build :)
Nice design and execution, bro.

Exelente trabajo amigo y muy buena idea. Saludos desde Argentina.

Thanks Mario!
good good very very good. thanks.
عمل أكثر من هايل ورائع . شكرا لك
great idea..but those lights will be shining in your eyes and casting shadows ....maybe if you move them to the front and let them shine towards the rear
Or better still, have two sets mounted top right and top left, shining down on the angle from each side. That would be perfect lighting.
Wow !! ! Nice 👍👍👍👍
Very nice 👍
Fantastic & great!
Thanks Penny Lane :)

Thanks eddy!
Glad I watched this video before installing my own wall mounted bench. Much easier to build the frames first and then attach them to the wall.
This is fantastic.
Very cool work bench .
I’ll try and build a smaller version.
Lights were a good idea
That was kool and funny with the slip you had
I should do it more often
very nice work. liked it
Thanks for the share. It gave me inspiration.
I'm glad it did! If you decide to build one of your own, send me a link

I'm going to link mine when I finish it tonight! Total inspiration! A bit different but along the same lines as what you did Jonathan!

Thanks, Mark! Whatever you decide to design and build, I'd love to see the final product.

I'm glad you didn't edit out your fall.. I wasn't expecting that and lmao! Nice work station! That got you a new subscriber lol
Thank you! And I wasn’t expecting it either lol
Amazing dude! Thanks for the video
You crack me up the way you build stuff in your slippers, because that's just what I do. To lazy to change to my boots, just walk straight into my workshop which is connected to my house ;-)
+Rob Man
Maybe we should start a business selling steel toed slippers? ;) “Lazy Toes”
=) I wear my slippers in the shop too
Very cool brother
Your fisheye lens had me cringing! Hahaaa awesome build.
Good job mate.
The first top would be much better if you made it swivel type to gain more space when it is not in use.
That's an awesome idea! Especially for a workshop as small as mine.. Sounds like a fun weekend project to convert it.
Impressive as hell dude.
+Justin
Appreciate it man!
Thanks for not playing some crap music in the Background!
And sick project, by the way :)
+Philipp Bretz
Thanks, man! Trying to find a good audio balance can be a little tricky
Nice 👍🏻
Ficou muito bom 🤘🏽😎🇧🇷
This is superb. It won’t be for everyone but I can not see any reason for a Thumbs Down.
👍🏾 up all the time from me.
Thanks Ashley!

+Lewis Ragsdale-Lowe
Thanks, Lewis. Sometimes boots just aren't the right shoes for the job
Safety Sleepers...that makes a big difference!!! :D
Nice work bench Jonathan! Thanks for sharing it with us.😎👍JP

( 7:38 ) Job site footwear regulation !? Haahhaaahha
Thank you for doing this video. Best storage space efficiency idea. I learned a lot
Wish i could work that good and that fast... Very nice!!
7:39 - But those slippers though!!!
So I am not alone with wearing slippers while working!
Its dangerous...you can slip. Lol
