Wow now that we have 7 openings (and ending 8) I realize that watching the openings before watching the show is a very bad idea cause it spoils a lot of plot points if you pay attention 😂
Yeah. AoT openings are known for being spoiler-rich if you haven't seen the show yet. The 6th OP "Boku no Sensou" (My War) has basically no notable characters/events on it besides the random explosions (and the Attack Titan at the end), but that still gives off spoilers if you have the slight idea where the show was heading lmao.
The 8th is not an opening. The song "Under the Tree" is the music theme for this part. What you watched is basically an "official" AMV , which is why it's heavy on spoilers.
My first reaction to Op6 was close to "what the hell is this", but after listening to it a couple of times during the duration of its season, it grew on me exponentially - now one of my faves in the series!
My top is the following: 1-Op8 Under the Tree (It has than sense of finality, while feeling very personal as well, on top of that it is a freaking COOL song). 2-Op7 The Rumbling (Simply epic, great visuals as well, and the lyrics hold so much significance at what is happening through a characters mind really well). 3-Op1Feuerroter Pfeil und Bogen (Simply iconic, full of energy, and it is a great introduction for the show and story overall). 4-Op6 My War (I love this one, visually is definitively the worst, but the song is so good, very disturbing as well. To many it is very alien to the rest of the op and the series, but that fits perfectly story-wise, since just like the song things just go even darker from here. One thing many declare, and I include myself in, is that this op gets better and better the more times you listen to it). 5-Op5 Shoukei to Shikabane no Michi (Before the Final Season this was my favorite op, it's a culmination of everything we've seen before from story to the music itself, it is as if all the previous Link Horizon's songs had a baby together that pays homage to its parents, it feel very climatic and it fits the story up to that point perfectly). 6-Op3 Shinzou wo Sasageyo! (Just like op1 this is very iconic, no one can deny that, great visuals, great song; however, to my taste, it isn't as special to me as the ops in higher spots). 7-Op4 Red Swan (Great song, it holds in my opinion the best visuals of all the ops, but I don't feel this song as iconic, as good, and as compelling to hear again as the rest of the ops). 8-Op2 Jiyuu no Tsubasa (Again, despite being at the bottom I don't think this is a bad song at all. My reasoning for it being here, it's that it feels very inferior to the rest of the ops, because each op is either iconic, tries something different, is epic, is very catchy, or in the case of op5 it makes a mix of all the previous ones, but op2 it's very continuist to op 1, the guitar goes crazy and I really like that, but when I think of Aot, this is the very least song that comes to mind).
Op 6 def is underrated. The lyrics in that opening are impactful and full of meaning. The line "children cling to their very last coins" always hits me right in the feels. But I'd have to say my favorite "opening" is the last ending Under the Tree. The final part of season 4 was split into 2 parts, 2 episodes each. We just got the first 2 eps, in which there was no opening, but Under the Tree played at the end during the credits. What you watched was snippets of those 2 eps. We'll get the last 2 eps that end the show in Oct probably.
Since this has a lot of spoilers, I would recommend waiting a bit to start watching aot again so that you forget most of the stuff in this video by the time you watch it. Aot is an absolute masterpiece but spoilers heavily affect your first time experience of this anime.
Fr it isn’t even really an opening, it’s more of an AMV of a theme song/ending of the movie with footage from the show. He didn’t really spoiled much tho cause he still doesn’t know 99% of the show and all the cooler plot twists

It's better if you watch the whole series again from start to finish ASAP... if you want to know and understand the story... and maybe after that... watch the live concert of the opening of the first season of it, I'm sure that you won't regret it at all.
The 5th opening is actually borrowing elements from all of linked horizons other openings and endings for the show, almost as a send off for the shows first act and linked horizons contributions to it. The end of the opening even combined the the titlular phrases from the other songs to form a new sentence which is really cool

Just giving my feedback since this is my first and prolly last video watching you but i cant stand it when people talk over the thing they are reacting. Either pause it one or two times to give opinions or wait till its over, its 1.30mins anyway. In my war the lyrics give context about the season and there were in fact titans in that opening. Seemed like you wanted to react more to the visuals and not the song itself which i was disappointed given the title. No hate, just honest thoughts and feedback.
Opening 6 "Boku no Sensou" (My War) is the most unique of all the AOT openings. You also need to watch the previous seasons to understand what's going on because unlike the previous OPs and the OP after this (which holy sht the title is a dead giveaway to what's gonna happen), OP6 doesn't give any characters/events that may spoil you. But once you already catch up to Season 4, it's the only opening that tells a lot without even telling anything, if that makes sense. The marching soldiers will always give me goosebumps. Also, my favorite op would be OP5 "Shoukei to Shikabane no Michi" because you are right it is basically the combination of all the songs made by Linked Horizon, especially at the end part of the song. OP1 is the best opening, and OP3 is basically the anthem of AoT, but OP5 hits different (probably because of the events that took place on that season (Season 3 part 2); people are saying it's where AoT peaked, and I may have to agree with that).
It really bothers me how people create these OP compilation videos (the one you reacted to). They make it 60fps, when anime is usually meant to be I think 24fps. I think it's for fair-use reasons, but it looks so awkward and sped up, which completely changes the feeling of watching it.
If you do end up reacting to the show, you should probably start from the beginning. I definitely wouldn’t just start season 2 after watching season 1 several years ago like you said. You’ll probably be lost at a lot of points. Since it does seem like you forgot a lot of things.
Yeah, opening 6 and 7 you need context for both imo. 7 is a bit more clear, but really both you need more context to appreciate than the others. You can't just listen and watch them with no context and appreciate them.

bro you just watch a amv with the recap of the final part not an op lol
the last two are the best
You messed everything up .😂 Know AOT for you is like just watching a normal show .. 🥲 .. when you know whats happening in the show during opening 7 ,your body will start rumbling when rumbling song plays 😂
All of these openings I wouldn't mind listening to except op 6 its just so bad in every aspect (visuals AND song), op 7 is my favorite out of all of them
You're braindead if you don't like 6
To continue with the anime means certain emotional damage is in your future….beware.
