sure everton spent money but they never had monopoly on game richer teams like real madrid, barca, man utd, chelsea, city etc have in modern times. the leagues were much more evenly matched back then.

McLindon who scored that first goal later went to St.Johnstone in a part exchange deal for Alex Ferguson - whatever became of that player ?

left st johnstone for partick thistle. After a recent campaign Dan was presented with a SC winners medal from 1961 , although he didn,t play in the replay 2-0 win he played in the first game 0-0, at that time medals were only awarded to those who played in actual winning finals.
