i use to work on a transmission shop doing only r&r and you start getting use to it and having air compresor and tools is so easy. for honda civics it takes me about 1 hour to pull it out and for example for chevys or astros it takes me about 40 minutes to pull the trans out. once you are in the heat everything comes so easy.
I’ve done a few of these Non Supercharged mini clutches. Just remove the whole front end (Bumper, Radiator) & the crash tube on the transmission side. No need to remove the subframe - you can then wiggle the transmission out.
Great video. Thanks. The dealer charges 5 K to do this and they say they remove the engine/trany assembly. They probably replace the flywheel and rear main seal along with the clutch parts. This video shows you must do this on a shop with a lift. It is not an easy job.

Here in your video at 00:50 it shows your manual trans flywheel and I wanted to know, are the CVT torque convertors sealed or does CVT trans oil run through where if replacing my CVT with a new trans would I get old CVT trans oil in my new CVT trans and cause future damage to my new CVT Trans? I am so sorry but we never worked on a mini with a automatic transmission. So i cant tell you anything about automatic transmissions. Try calling a transmission shop first.
bought transmission repair kit complete gear and bearings from england, will start soon, if you have the midland trans (2002-2004) which is a rover trans, the bearings are not so good compared to the getrag trans (2005- present)

so, just remove the mini from the transmission and go from there. Disconnect the steering, the strut, the control arm, sub-frame,battery and fuel. Oh and the tire/axle and brakes. And bumper. I love my mini, but damn.

Not complicated, working on a lifter....working on tbe floor will be a pain on tbe beck, that one is "easy" because is a stick shift. Automatic dont worth the work even paying 1000 bucks for a Mini. AT are about 550 bucks used and risky,rebuild is about 1800 bucks. Same crap with New Beetle. They (manufacturers) screw up 2 b-tiful brands and models. VIDEO DONT SHOW CRAP!!! JUST A CAR ON THE AIR AND A TRAINNY ON FLOOR....SORRY!!
