Using Pulse with Ollie also helps get glims, because that spell always gets a 'nice'. So long as you can keep up your MP with magic glims you'll be fine. ALSO you don't have to switch the AI to "do nothing" once you get the all out commands, you can just keep telling them to defend. Likewise if you decide you want them to attack without changing tactics, all out attack makes them "give it their all".
you can just keep using mugshot if the golden glims aren't appearing. The golden glims just give a 100% chance to steal the RAREST items. If you're looking to steal something that isn't the rarest item..mugshot is faster.
Nope, all you do is catch about 100 familiars (which is pretty simple) and just level them, they all have 3 stages so that count towards 3 familiars, and you can just farm tokotoko's to rank up really fast or tokotocold's
An easier way to do this is to switch to Swaine at the beginning and just hit the square button to make the AI defend. When the option reappears, just press square again. Once you spam Mugshot and get the item(s), press triangle so the AI can help you finish the battle. It doesn't guarantee a rare steal like this does, but it takes a lot less time overall and it infinitely less boring than defending 8000 times hoping for a golden glim to appear.
Sometimes you actually do fight others tamers if the purpose is given in some events, like when Shadar summon's his familiar and stuff. There even is a colloseum where the only thing you do is fighting other tamers in a tournament, which is my favourite spot in Ni No Kuni so far. :D
I need some help please i only have one trophy leave which is the mad scientist. The problem i am having is stealing items, rare items to be exact i have been trying the gold glims method but i am having a hard time getting gold glims to spawn or appear can someone help me please? is there a item or accessory that cant boost the steal rate ?
Its13reezy Use Thunderstorm (Pulse on Automata enemies) because those spells always get you a "NICE!" so that gives you a good chance of getting gold glims.
I use the same tactic. I immediately switch to Swaine and mash the square button until I see the "!" appear above their heads, then I proceed to spam Mugshot until I get an item from all the enemies. After that, a quick triangle tap usually ends the battle within 10-15 seconds. I did it for a couple hours today and couldn't believe all the crap I stole. It's a simple strategy that I plan to use for the post game Alchemy trophy (when I hit that point, starting Ivory Tower now).
Me too. I've tried counter attacking for over 30 mins, and nothing. I've also tried defending and exploiting the enemies weakness. For anyone reading this, give up on side quests and getting trophies. I've spent 12+hrs just getting 5 scrolls of truths.

if you go into the creature compendium it will show you what items the familiars drop

what the mischief!
i must be doing something wrong i have been doing this method for hrs and i cant seem to get the gold glims i dont know what else to do
it does not...but you will get the best item that enemy has to offer.
Also, I can only imagine the tame 250 creatures trophy will take about 200hrs + :(
omg, thank you so much. i was so desperate
might be a silly question but how do you know if the familiar is carrying an item?

very much like Pokemon except you don't fight other trainers (in this case tamers)
Does light fingers work more then one time per battle on the same enemy?
Taislinmaosdela No. You can only steal one item from an enemy.
@@spectrethefox5450 a little late don't you think?
Lol, same.
Why not just use Mugshot? Costs 1 MP and appears to have 100% success rate.
Nice

loving it :)
That's not true. I platinum-ed the game in just over 112 hours.

No offense but, is it like Pokemon i guess? I haven't played it or watched enough videos of Ni No Kuni to make a conclusion
