@@busterandrews Kawhi got FMVP for the narrative. Siakam was the best in game 1 and 6. Vanvleet was the one guarding Steph all series and was the only one holding him under 50% -- and he was clutch.
I wouldn't say underrated. He was getting a lot of praise during that series. And rightfully so.

2019 Raptors were one of the greatest defensive teams of all time. Their starting 5 was basically an all defensive team with Ibaka off the bench. They had the perfect mix of veterans and young stars with Kawhi as the superstar, perfectly balanced team.

People act like the Warriors didn't have their core team from their record-breaking 72 win season during the finals vs the Raptors. Klay missed one game and a quarter, but they still got swept at Oracle.

Hey ESPN, thanks for the memories and all, but any reason you leave out Kyle Lowry coming out firing in the 1st quarter of game 6? He scored Toronto's first 11 points and assisted on Siakam's 3 before any other Raptor got on the board. Lowry started that game like someone who wasn't going to be remembered for that Game 5 airball that could've won it.

That was a great game for highlights, back and forth. They show none of Lowry's start and 1 highlight from Klay's performance even tho that was the defining part of the game ultimately.

@@kabagemayannick5097 They played 2 games with KD, Klay, Steph (in one) they lost both, one of them by 20 points (without Kawhi) and in the one KD scored 51 points. Unlike other teams the raps weren't affraid of GSW at all. And FYI Klay only missed 1 game.
@jo id People like you were saying the warriors were legit without KD when they beat the blazers in the conference finals. In 2015 they beat the Cavs without kyrie and Kevin love. So that "doesn't count". In 2018 if Chris Paul didn't get hurt the rockets would've won so that "doesn't count", and if the clippers didn't face a bunch of injuries same thing. The warriors have benefited from a lot of injuries its just part of the game. Warriors were lucky they weren't swept in this series

2015 Playoffs:
Jrue Holiday gets injured against them in round one
Mike Conley gets injured against them in round two after his team was up 2-1
Kyrie and Love get injured in the finals.
2017 Playoffs :
Zaza intentionally injured Kawhi
2018 Playoffs :
CP3 gets injured after his team was up 3-2.

Raptors still beat a fully healthy warriors team without Kawhi. in the finals every stacked superstar the warriors had was still not enough, they all played in that finals at some point and the only one you can say that missed a lot was KD, but warriors couldn't even beat the Raptors with Cousins, Klay, Curry, Iggy and Draymond plus a fully healthy supporting cast. OG on the Raptors was also ruled out by injury, Kawhi was just coming back from an injury the warriors gave him because they knew they could never beat Kawhi even when they were fully healthy and Lowry had a broken hand. The injuries weren't only stacked on the warriors, Raptors won fair and square if you don't think so then Warriors were never a dynasty because they only got to the fnals each year because they were going up against badly injured squads lol. The Raptors swept them in the regular season one of those games without Kawhi so I have no idea why people did not give them a chance in the playoffs. I’m happy they won and look forward to the playoffs this year.

The raptors won in their first game that season because curry and thompson did not play, only durant is the only superstar played in that team that game but still durant forces it into ot without curry and thompson, and even tho the raptors are all healthy. So if Durant played that series. We can never tell🤷♂️

Cleveland also beat the Warriors with an injured Steph, Iggy, and Bogut, and Draymond suspended, but nobody mentions that.
Houston only got the series that far in the first place because Iggy was injured in Game 3. Warriors were up 2-1 and then lost games 4 and 5 by 3 and 4 points. Iggy doesnt get injured, Warriors win both of those, and CP3's injury is irrelevant.
Steph was already on a 14-0 run when Kawhi was injured, they were already making their comeback. To anyone saying the Spurs wouldve won the series, you're dreaming. One game, possibly. Two at best. Just because you have one blowout game doesnt give you the series. The Rockets blew the Spurs out at San Antonio in 2017 Game 1. Didnt matter. The Warriors blew the Cavs out in Game 1 & 2 in 2016 by 30+. Didnt matter. The list goes on.

This was a historic title team for many reasons, first champion without a single lottery pick on roster, first champion to have trailed in the 3 series leading up to the final, first Canadian team, and not to mention easily the most dominant defensive champ since the 04' Pistons.
What an amazing moment, will never forget this title run as a fan. People will come up with every excuse to discount this win because their team lost!
2015, no kyrie and love and the warriors win. 2016 they lose. 2017, kawhi gets hurt when they're down 20 to the spurs. 2018 chris Paul goes down when the rockets are up 3-2. 2019? They ran into the NBA CHAMPION TORONTO RAPTORS

Same here; they were playing great when the season was suspended. I was aching for the Raptors to silence all their critics. Even so I still think the Raps can be legit contenders for as long as Masai is around and they keep their core unit together( maybe there might be some slight changes along the way )& perhaps lure another big name north of the border and hopefully help the Raps perhaps win another championship in the near future. :-)

I'm a Raptors fan but I hated seeing Klay go down like that. That was horrible to watch. It's bad no matter who it happens to, it's just terrible to see guys get injured that way especially when they are at the very top of their game.

Yeah it's stupid tho cuz giving yourself as much opportunities as possible to be lucky is part of the sport. Staying as healthy as possible and getting injured is just how the game works. A championship is a championship and all the games ammounted to this victory, not just the finals.

I don't think people realize how much better the Raptors played than the warriors in this series. Both of the warriors wins came down to the last bucket. Game 2 - Iggy hitting the three with 5 seconds left & Game 5 - Lowry's three getting blocked by Draymond to win the game. When in comparison 3/4 of the Raptors wins were by a decisive amount (Game 1- Raps by 9, Game 3 - Raps by 14, Game 4 - Raps by 13) it was only game 6 which was close. Yes, injuries were a factor, but you can't dispute the Raptors played much better than the warriors. Despite the Raptors winning in 6 (which seems close) the series was not as close as it seems. People argue that if the Warriors wouldn't have been injured they would've won the series easily, but in reality we'll never know who would've won.

As a Raptors fan, I never cheered for Durant getting injured, I cheered because Ibaka stole the ball and was going to slam it going the other way... was hyped about the score not the injury. Commentators making Torontonians look bad.

RebelDaSoundz Green was suspended for one game. Don’t know if Bogut was a factor in that series but after he was injured, the Warriors lost the last two games. Although Warriors only had Bogut at centre. Don’t know how effective Speights or Festus we’re during those games
