You mean the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society? I hope they have that whistle, as well as the 2012 one, which is my personal favorite whistle btw.
Alco, huh? I’ve always thought that these Berkshire locomotives were built by Lima. Now that I think about it, the C&O Kanawha locomotives (built by Alco, just like the NKP 700 Prototype) had a very similar design. Not just the wheels, but everything else.
They used the wrong grade of brass in the wheel bearings, meaning that they all need replaced before it could move again. However, I suppose they could put a fire inside her but it would be inpractical.
1:50 sounds like 1522
The 3 chime from 765 was also used in 1982
0:02 GTW 6325’s 6 Chime

765 has a new whistle from an unknown 700 class and I got to blow it on the 2nd
765's current whistle is a steel cast nathan 6 chime, last used sometime in 2009(?) for a coca cola commercial
1:19 I Can Hear Part of the K&L Berk Enginesound
765 originally had 1225's whistle???
Both locomotives have Nathan 6 chimes, so it’s hard to tell if they share the same whistle.
Does 6325 still live?
Yes. In the age of steam roundhouse
