Young 60. I love watching vintage and classic movies, wife keeps telling me I was born in wrong century 😂. She won’t watch these movies old movies with me, her lost.
Holy smokes! I've happily seen many, if not most, of Randy Scott's westerns. This movie has to be among his very best; with Scott showcasing his his considerable talents in pursuing old west justice. He rides along cliff-tops, cowboy-boots runs through many stunts, thinks before he shoots, never misses with his widow-maker (except when he wants to), knows how to quickly calm a cantankerous horse (11:00), takes a verbal slap or two from the ladies, sets a whole town on edge while following the leads chasing the bag guys, attends church, and hosts a surprise ending (and finally, a cameo by Fess Parker before his Davy Crocket or Daniel Boone days). Magnificent! Thanks for posting. I'm saving this one!!
"Intermission" now that brings back memories, when there was a short break and everyone rushed to the toilets and bought ice creams or drinks then scurried back to their seats for part two. No intermissions now of course, guess I'm showing my age.
Oh and Randolph Scott is one of the best cowboys that ever was … he had a ranch and lived the life when he wasn’t making money… he had cattle,, horses ,,, exotics,,, he was a rancher when he wasn’t making the money to keep his ranch going ,,, another thing he was a player,,, that man was a man’s man …. And made great movies….
This was 1954. No movies produced for any wide audience evinced verisimilitude by having the actors use vulgarities. R Scott may have very well been the type to cuss you out if he thought you were deserving of it, in real life.
So sorry, you had to experience such a loss. Nothing like losing a mother you are close to! My mother moved to heaven in 2013. Can't believe it's been 11 years already! But as the song goes, "When we've been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun; we've no less days to sing God's praise than when we first begun!" That's if we've allowed God's grace to teach our heart to fear the Lord and judgment for sin, which, if we do, His grace will relieve our fears when we realize all He asks is that we believe in Him and that He paid for our sins and wants to save us! Praise God, my mother knew the Lord as her Saviour, so I know I'll see her again!
Randolph Scott was the best western cowboy star for me ever. There was no one I liked better and I liked westerns very much. Scott had a certain believable quality about him that was not present in so many other cowboy stars.
His acting Always pulls you into the movie . Keeps you on edge the whole time. I have never seen this 1 before, glad I did, liked that twist at the end.
Definitely Scott was one of my favs. Have you ever seen Tim McCoy westerns on utube from 1936 to about 41? He was a real cowboy at 19 in Wyoming of the early 1900s, rancher, cavalry officer and Native American friend and advocate. Gun shootin expert in Cody’s wild west show and brought the Shoshone to Hollywood for flicks. I have to say I vote him best ever but just my opinion. Wrote a great book too Tim McCoy remembers the west.
@@GM-cf6jv I grew up watching all the old westerns before there was tv or computers. cut grass with a push mower not powered for 25 cents walked railroad tracks to town to go to a double feature. two lawns gave me 50 cents. Usually had a western double feature only in Black and white. 9cents to pay for movies 15 cents for large popcorn and large drink together. Left me 26 cents for hotdogs and chips and drink after movies and walked back down the same railroad tracks to home. Not an old cowboy actor i was not aware of, remember tim McCoy sure I do. Met several old western stars in person as they worked the movie circuit back then and appeared on stage for autographs and display of talents between movies. Those were the days. don't think there is any movies (westerns) that I hae not seen.
Really well done "little" Western. Quality production in all aspects. Good characterizations with none of the usual stereotypes but with subtle aspects of people's behavior revealed without drama. More than anything else its the authenticity that Randolph Scott brings to these roles in the Westerns he made, especially at the end of his career in the 1950's. I can't think of any other actor in Westerns, perhaps John Wayne or James Stewart, that walked the talk with such confidence and just solid good sense, without swagger or dramatics but with humor and a touch of irony. What a positive role model he must have been for so many young people and the rest of us. Thanks Randolph Scott, for the integrity of the characters you brought to the screen!
Thanks for the lively western about a bounty hunter. The first portrayal of a bounty hunter as a good guy, that I've ever seen. Very interesting scene with the mother, (Maria) of a dead youthful Mexican bandit, and Scot's bounty hunter character. Too bad the actress received no mention or credits that I could find for her great scene with Scott. Surprise to see Fess Parker for less than 1/2 a minute at the end of the show. Good scenes with Ernest Borgnine. He was in the "Wild Bunch" with another long time veteran actor, Dub Taylor. I really enjoyed this western. I'm always on the lookout for good westerns. I was raised on Saturday morning t.v. westerns and western movies. Thanks for posting. I signed up as a new subscriber. Keep them coming.🥰🥰
Hilarious: While they were shaving Randolph Scott in the movie with a straight razor a commercial came on selling an electric razor but started with a scene shaving a man with a straight razor! Anyhow this was one Randolph Scott movie I had never seen. Excellent as always.
I watched a lot of Randolph Scott movies; this one is really good. I really enjoyed it, I never thought that lady was one of the bad guys.... lol! Thanks for sharing!!
80 year old here...I was 10 when these movies were shown at the Saturday matinee, I think it was 50 cents for the movie, coke and popcorn...I watch then now to bring back good memories... Randolph Scott was my mothers favorite actor
This movie and a lot more like this one, is a great entertainment for the entire family. I wish someone would start making movies like this one again. No foul language and it has a story. Thank you for sharing and looking to find more of the same.
Was the first time I saw this one...like western that happens in town mostly...plot was week but actors were strong...thought a saw fess Parker there at the end...Randolph Scott cool in the 1950s
As a soon to be 70 yr.old male, I always enoyed watching movies with Randolph Scott, Gary Grant and Rock Hudson. All were very handsome ladies men. So I was quite shocked when it was revealed to the world that they were gay men. Still, I enjoy any movie I see with these 3 extremely solid actors. Gay or not. 🙏

Good movie. Wished my mom was here to watch this with me. Lost her last fall (2023). We watched westerns on YT every Saturday night.
Very Sorry your Mom passed. My Mom went to be with the Lord way back in 1997. My Dad in 1992. God Bless.
