Angela, I will make a bulbophyllum care video soon. Thank you for the suggestion! I keep my bulbos warm and with constant access to moisture. A plastic pot with bark is good because it allows air around the roots while the plastic creates a humid environment for them. Plants with long rhizomes are tough, what I do is plant them in a deep basket or wide pot, but only fill the pot half way (or less) with bark, so the plant is contained within the walls of the pot. That way it has to climb a little to escape the pot, and you can redirect the new growths as the rhizomes lengthen. Like Bulbo Bonsai :) You got two amazing bulbos, the inunctum especially is awesome in my opinion. Good luck and thank you!!

A look at the rooting and growth hormones used on my orchids. They receive regular doses of growth as well as rooting hormones including KelpMax and Indole-3-butyric acid. I mix 2 tablespoons (30 mL) of Kelpmax with 2 teaspoons (10 mL) of fertilome liquid root stimulator to 1 gallon (3.8 L) of tap water. I do this once every 2 weeks. Great information William. I need to try some of the rooting hormones for some of my orchids. You're catasetum orchids look great. I've been extremely disappointed in mine this year. The cool wet spring coupled with early fall in Michigan they did not have a very good growing season. It was the middle of July before they wanted any water and now a couple of them are already showing signs of going into dormancy. Everything has been moved backinside and into the sunroom for the fall/winter season already, so light levels will be lowered and everything will start slowing down. Where did the growing season go? Luckily most everything else is doing well and I've begun to get first-time Bloomers on some of my seedlings.

Kelpmax is available at firstrays.com/ , the fertilome I bought at my local garden center, and the stimulant in the small bottle can be ordered from www.fantasyorchids.com
If you use all three of them simultaneously, how can you tell which ones are necessary? I can’t buy all three of them so I looked into the seaweed extract but some people are saying that it does not work.
Michael, does your greenhouse sell the small bottle? I’d love to buy some. My husband was pulling down a 12 ft screen on the patio and it pulled right off the wall and it crushed my orchids. He just left it there until I got home, so that made the situation even worse. Talk about shocking plants (40 orchids)! I’ve had to repot everything and I need a way to stimulate root growth. I’ve ordered the fertilome and have kelpmax. I’d just like an idea on how I can get the smaller bottle of growth hormones. I still can’t believe every plant is set back after the trauma of being slammed by a 40 pound patio shade. All the tags were tossed around, broken leaves, broken pots. It was a gruesome scene. 😭

wow, 140 comments, this is why I'm not a youtuber, reading through that many comments on every video must take some dedication. I was trying to see what happened to your old grow space, I know you moved, I wanted to see what happened to your old collection but I will carry on browsing your videos as I'm sure you mention it somewhere. I think your plants look the healthiest they have ever looked in this video and I know you swear by your K-lite feeding but look at your Neofinetia in this video compared to fed with K-lite. It's lacking something since if you ask me. I myself feed 50ppm N and 75ppm K for my Neo's all year but I am always interested in following other people's results. In this video you mention you used 2 teaspoons per gallon of the 4-10-3 root stimulator. I know at the time you won't have realized what you were actually doing. Yes of course you were feeding the root stimulator but you were also feeding a fairly potent fertilizer, equally as strong if not stronger than K-lite... at 2 teaspoons per gallon. I know you are more clued up about the TDS and fertilizer since this video always sticking to 25-30ppm N which using K-lite provides about 3ppm P and K respectively. But did you realize that when you were using this root booster you were feeding 200ppm Phosphorous alone. You were probably adding your regular fertilizer on top. Long term this might have become a bit strong but your plants responded phenomenally by the looks of it. Maybe you stopped because you didn't realize how strong you were in fact fertilizing as a result. But I think the sweet spot is somewhere between the 200ppm Phosporous you used to give in this video and the 3ppm Phosphorous you like to stick to since growling indoors. Just thought I would post my observation. I don't see you using these boosters anymore so if there is a reason, and you have found the time to read my comment it would be great hearing if you stopped using them for a reason.
i don't use them any more because I'm general i don't feel i need to. But as it's always an experiment i sometimes will give a dose of the fertilome just to see what will happen and it really does make roots branch like crazy. but it's just not necessary.
I am in awe honestly. Great video & fantastic orchids with their porn roots.....Been struggling to grow roots in water culture... Can i use the rooting hormone diluted to encourage roots in water culture. Please reply as I am desperate. TIA
Thanks for sharing your root potion! I've been relatively happy with Kelpmax, but I'm definitely not seeing as much root growth as you are having. Maybe it's because I've been giving it to them once a month in 1tbs/gal. I'll look in to adding the fertilome too.
Ray suggests once every two weeks, I'd give that a try for a couple months first. The addition of the second hormone does seem to have kicked root production into another gear!

Even on your slipper orchids!!! I need to give it a try...😉
Works pretty well!
I am in awe honestly. Great video & fantastic orchids with their porn roots.....Been struggling to grow roots in water culture... Can i use the rooting hormone diluted to encourage roots in water culture. Please reply as I am desperate. TIA
I don't have much experience with water culture, but if I had a plant without many roots, I would go with sphag 'n' bag method.
@@MyGreenPets Good point. Thanks!
Good morning from Grees!!!!!!

wow! so many roots! does this also mean that flowering will also be extraordinary?
I don't know, but it can't hurt...right?
Que pena que yo no sepa inglés...😔

My Green Pets nooooo, no sabía ni q eso se pudiera hacer 🤦♀️

Ya vi dónde se hace. Pero no me da la opción de hacerlo al español. Muchas gracias 🙏

Thank you, interesting video, it’s good to connect Russian subtitles please
Try changing the CC to Russian, and let me know if the translation is decent, please!

Interesting.
Thanks for viewing 👍🏻
Does stimulating rooting suppress flowering?
Nope
