I just passed my California RE exam on 01/25/2024! On my 1st try 🎉 your videos helped so much, but this one specifically was the last one I watched before my exam & I'm so glad I did! Bc although I understood zoning I had never even heard of the word "set back" & there was at least 2 questions that included the word set back & other questions relating to zoning! And all I can think of was how thankful I was for your video that day!!! Thank you so much for all the help you offer with your videos and knowledge! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you. As a person that dyslexic there are certain ways these real estate terms need to be explained to me. 1st test I failed I was six questions shy from passing. Now I’m more confident.
Great informative video! I was searching up subdivision regulations to prepare myself for my planning internship interview today. You did a great job explaining land development and how zoning may affect land use.
Hey Joe! Love this video, there are a few terms such as "Nonconforming Use, Overlay District, and Spot Zoning" that I would like some more clarification on! If you could make a short video about those that would be awesome, thanks.
My study book says "The comprehensive plan, also known as a master plan, is not a regulatory document, but a guide that tries to anticipate changing needs." But then my online study course in KEY realty school gave a True or False quiz asking: "A master plan and a comprehensive plan are the same in realty." I marked True, from what i read in the study book, but got it wrong bc the test says that its F and they are not the same, and the Master plan is the INITIAL set up. I am so confused bc even when i try to look this up online, and thru your videos they are all telling me that they are the same. I just dont want to get this wrong if it comes up on PSI. What is the correct answer? Is my school incorrect?
I wished your videos kept playing after one is finished and go to next video. Some people have that feature! I don't know how to do it on my on videos but I would totally watch all ur videos more if they were on auto play!!! :)
That sounds good! I am taking all my courses online and have done half so far. The lowest grade I got so far was on contracts. Guess it gets a bit harder the closer you get to finishing the online classes. I still need to do Finance as well.
So in a gridiron subdivision, that's why the houses are set back the same.🤔 This also keeps homes from encroaching on roads that are used for emergency transportation. Wow.🧐
Thanks for the info. I wouldn't agree that zoning makes neighborhoods nicer. Places like Mexico have much lighter rules and have much better looking communities.

I teach Property Law for undergrads. I did not expect to find a video that helped explain zoning and the 10th amendment. Glad to find this one.
I never comment but thank you!!!!! I swear by your videos. I can’t thank you enough.

So down-zoning is basically destroying a commercial estate to make way for a residential estate. Did I get that correct?
Thx for this post. Currently working on a project and the study of the info is a bit dry. But yr post absolutely helps to understand the topic better.
I had a questions on my real estate exam.
Asking who’s in charge of the zoning law?
a) federal government
B) state
