Hello, Thanks for tutorial. I want to know the size of gyroid unit cell, How we can do? I found neither box size nor voxel size decide the gyroid size exactly. For example say I want to define gyroid unit cell size 10 mm, what I have to do?
Hello! On the Sample Voxels (min. 5:37) I get this message: 1. Solution exception:Could not load file or assembly 'KDTree, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Suggestions? I'm using Rhino 7 WIP. Thank you.
How can I use this definition to fill a specific volume? Or better put , how could I increase the number of gyroids that fill a specific volume. (gyroid as a unit cell)?
Thank you for this tutorial and your chanel , really helpfull and clear explications. If at the end of the tutorial if we want to try to give parametric thickness to that gyroid what would be the best way for it ?
Hi, thank you for the tutorial. One of the great things about gyroid is that it an print in one conseccutive line when 3D printing, but when expanding this specific pattern with a cell array, the pattern doesn't align. Is there a way to make it all a single pattern? Thanks!! :)
This is helping me a lot, thank you, but is there a way to fill up the volume "intrapped" by the surface, instead of thickening it? I've found this video because I've seen that a person was able to do it using Rhino and Grasshopper. With the gyroid is pretty hard to explain, but with a schwarz primitive (cos(x) + cos(y) + cos(z)) it's pretty easy to see what I mean with "volume intrapped by the surface". So how can I creat a solid model in this way?
Hi there, not entirely sure I understand the question, but the step before the mesh split actually gives you an entirely contained volume (8:10 in the video)
Hi! The tutorial is very helpful. However, I have came across a problem when I was plugging in the value into the Effective Range in the VixelSample button. It said it could not find the file. After that, I could not make the script work even tho I followed every procedure carefully. Do you have any idea what might cause this to happen? Thanks!
Hi Kelly, have you copied the KDTree.dll file into your grasshopper libraries folder? Chromodoris requires you to copy both the gha file and dll file to work
The best way to add thickness would be through the weaverbird plugin for grasshopper using the 'Mesh Thicken' component. If you want to export to an STL, just back the mesh into Rhino, hit export and change the file type to .stl, hope that helps!
@Deliana Carolina Monsalve Sánchez Sorry for the late response! The above is a type, I mean BAKE the mesh into Rhino (so select the component, right click and bake)
Yes most of the time it works, but some time plugins doesn't work .Just try to put it in the component folder and restart rhino and grasshopper more over this one works on mac.
sin(x) * cos(y) + sin(y) * cos(z) + sin(z) * cos(x)
amazing! thanks a lot
I get completely the same script from tutorial video but in the rhino 7 it doesn't show any thing except of rad x cube. May i get some help ? thanks~~
Just the thing I needed! Thanks!
Awesome, glad you found it helpful!
'Pretty simple' - my foot! 🙂
Very impressive, but not for ordinary humans.

yes i have the same issue and problem KD tree

Hi there, make sure you copy the accompanying KDTree.dll file to your components folder to get the plugin working :)

Hello, Is there anyway to make this shape into a rectangle? I’m looking to add specific length width and height measurements in it
I have a problem of getting the box parameters, what might be the reason for that?
Thank you sir
No problem ;)
