Hey Jason. Nice looking boards you got there.
I just got the groove skate carbon S (110cm) in orange. I love this thing. The color helps to find the board super fast in the water, and the volume helps keeping my aluminium cabrinha mast with varial small wing from sinking. verry pleased with the quality. Love seeing more video’s from groove products. Have a good one.

I have the Wave 123cm full carbon 2.6kg for 1.5 years now in combination with a Ketos foil and the Wave is by far the best board I know. Previously I had the Skate 120cm but the Wave is much more dynamic than the skate 120cm and also feels a lot smaller.
I have also a beautiful board 118cm from Ketos but my preference is really going to the Wave for carving.

Hi Jason. These boards look awesome. Did you ever try these boards without foil? Or would that be too hard to edge upwind?

Honestly I never though about it, I'm gonna have to try it next session!

    Hi Jason,
i have the skate M 120cm, in yellow fluo, is a super board quick and stable and light. i'm planning to get the xs paired with the new soul2 12, unfortunately her in dubai the average yearly wind is in the 8 to 12 kts.

You should be good in those winds with that kite and even with the XS. I use my Wave which is even smaller by construction in winds that low without problem. Just it :-)

Is it necessary to have such rocker?
Do you think the volume is benefiting in any way versus a no volume board?

The rocker greatly helps on touchdowns especially in the surf. Also the volume really helps during lulls, I can sit on the boat and it keeps me afloat while the wind picks back up. Also I don't sink immediately on touchdowns which greatly helps. The volume basically makes my board my one board quiver, good for 6kts-30+kts.

with th etime, what would you need "floatation" for? you are in the air anyway, so the thickness is just swing volume....... have a look at some really thin boards.

when there's a lull and you need to sit and wait for the wind to pick up is one good example. Also if you mess a transition and come off foil, there's another. Another is if I need to self rescue, it's great having that extra flotation. There's many benefits to a board with volume.
