I think another reason was because every one was kind of in shock when his record happened, but with max it was so anticipated after 5 years that everyone was so happy
Also the reality is alot of racist cubers also didn't want to give due credit to a Chinese cuber from China for a mind blowing new World Record. They just couldn't deal with it.
A man got lucky and somehow the community got so skeptical about it and literally just attacking him? You are uploading a video that literally says he ruined the community because he is a good cuber who got lucky? The world record didnt ruined speedcubing, the fact that people just get salty when someone else did something their idol cant, ruined the community.
noble cubes: YuSheng’s video is blurry so it ruined speedcubing Also noble cubes: Asher’s sub 4 would be the first sub 4 in history!!!11! It’s not like it doesn’t even have ONE SINGLE RECORDING (nah we’ll ignore that for the video’s sake)
Technically, Yusheng’s WR wasnt the record that stood the longest, it is technically Minh Thai’s WR, since it stood over 20 years (apart from that, i believe it is the 0.49s 2x2 single that stood for 6 years)
China is a very isolated country, they basically have their own internet and own media. There was lots of media coverage in china when it happened, we just dont have access to their internet and their media networks.
They’re actually 15 three second solves according to the WCA and real life or nine year old I forgot what his name is broke. The world record average a day after and he got 2 three second solves 13+2=15.
Thats ridiculous. MSM mediia didn't want promote Du Yushengs win not because it was grainy at all. It was just discrimination against him because he was from China.. And until now people in the West still trying to cope with his long world record. So what if he was lucky? You think Max Park was also not lucky to get 3.13? Funny when China guy wins it is lucky but when an American wins it's skill? LMAO. Du Yusheng had so much discrimination against him . Even stupid RUclipsbers tried to mock him when his YS3M came out with a card in the ys3m box had his face and world record on. Du's world record was official. No need try minimize it.
the 3.47 is not the longest held world record. The first ever Rubik's cube 3x3x3 world record which was 22.95 seconds was held for 20 years because there's is no competition between.
Huh, that's curious. The world record of speedcubing is 3.47, and now I understood that the video about this record lasts 3 minutes and 47 seconds. thats funny.
Your point on his grainy footage preventing more publicity might be a little weak, because it might have been more widely spread throughout China instead of the Western world. (And China's community is thriving) And besides, Du's record only made people wildly practice more, so I feel that the top 10 averages today would be slightly slower without his 3.47.
But think, If YuSheng was was the U.S and Max Park or Feliks were at the competition, how would that have affected the World Record, because if YuSheng could get a 3.47, then imagine what they could do.
I suppose its kinda like when you break your PR by heaps and then it gets kinda boring for a bit cus you dont break it again for ages. no hate for getting lucky though.
I feel bad for Yusheng Du. Not because his record was broken, but because he didn’t get the same treatment as Parks record.
yeah i know i think its because people thought he averages like 10 seconds and just got super lucky but he acutally averages like 6 seconds
@@cubesquad Thanks for the info. Mark my words. There will be a 2 second WR eventually.
@@shang_psycho7414 yeah

It's a really cool pun

almost racist isn't it .
@@mustseenow991wtf bro, that is nothing racist, what's wrong with you?
@@mustseenow991how is that racist
I don’t think it is racist, but @mustseenow991 must say that because yusheng is Chinese
@user-nh3eh3pf2o yeah but most good cubers are Chinese so... what? How's that rascit
Getting lucky is not a crime - I remember people saying this when yusheng du broke it first
People actually started saying that back when Erik Akkersdijk got his 7.08 single (He broke the wr by almost 2 seconds)

3:30 that 3.99 from Yiheng Wang is the first ever counting sub 4.
Sure is
Dude this video was super well researched and put together. It felt longer than it was in a good way.
Wow. Really?! Someone broke a WR. Lasted 4 years, and was so hated for no reason other than he was not known much? That’s just unfair.
It’s unfortunate, but not hated, just sceptical
A man got lucky and somehow the community got so skeptical about it and literally just attacking him? You are uploading a video that literally says he ruined the community because he is a good cuber who got lucky?

That Australian TV clip is so funny
What an interesting perspective, never thought about this solves like that but makes a lot of sense
I love those videos of Feliks on TV. Was such a good era of cubing
