Normally I'd comment saying that I'm putting off doing an assignment and watching this video but today I just finished my assignment on time and now I'm watching this video :). I've struggled with procrastination a lot and still do but your channel and others like it help when I actually put the tips to use. Thank you.
This is quickly becoming one of my favourite channels. I have a lot of respect for you man. You do these really difficult things, you stick to your goals and you come out of them with helpful conclusions and realistic expectations. This is science!

Before I realised this was a reupload I thought “when is he not working on a muscle up” 😂😂
Here are some notes I took from the video (it's still totally worth watching):
1) He read a book by this one doctor that was like: the answer to procrastination is to simply get started. The video guy said that this helped with some things, but when it came to the gym one morning, the motivation didnt follow unfortunately. Still finished the workout and seemed happy it was done.
2) Take breaks. You can get burnt out easily if youre doing task after task for long periods of time.
3) Procrastination exists. It's gonna happen sometimes, and that's okay.
4) Know that when it does happen, realize that you're most likely rationalizing bad behavior.
5) "Reduce stress in your life. The more stressed you are, the more likely you are to procrastinate."
6. Break projects into smaller increments so your workload doesn't feel overwhelming.
7. Good work leads to more good work. Ride that momentum!

Check out the book Mini Habits ... when it comes to just getting started, make your goal as simple as possible. For example, if you are having a hard time going to the gym, make your habit to just put on your workout clothes or drive to the gym. If you don't feel like doing anything past that, just skip it. That gives you an out if you really don't feel like doing something. But force yourself to just that that one first (very easy) step!

When people mention stretching I forget people have to actually do that. I have a genetic disease and one of the only perks (because in my case it is killing me) is that I don’t have to stretch because I am insanely flexible naturally.
Madison well I mean stretching feels good but yea that’s cool. What genetic disease is it? And can you go gym to do heavy weight lifting?
Sarmad Ghafoor It is called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. It is a genetic connective tissue disorder that causes my collagen to be mutated and therefore defective. Collagen is the glue like protein that keeps your body held together well. Collagen is in 80% of the body including the bones, ligaments, muscles, tendons, skin, organs, joints, and blood vessels. So my body if literally falling apart.
There are 13 types and I have the Vascular type which is one of the more rare types and also more dangerous types.
No absolutely not. My disease is a spectrum disease meaning you can be very mildly effected to very severely effected. I happen to fall on the very severe side.
My two major issues are severe widespread joint instability (I dislocate my joints 90+ times a day between my hips, knees, knee caps, toes and fingers, Ribs, Si joint, wrists, elbows and vertebrae; my shoulders used to dislocate but I had both of them fused, in which they make a 14 inch incision break shoulder and put it back together which a huge ass plate and about 12-14 screws and bolts, in the past year because my arms were becoming useless due to nerve and bone damage) and I have intestinal failure meaning my entire GI tract is paralyzed and I require a central line (IV to my heart, two feeding tubes, and an ileostomy (bag of my own shit) to sustain me a prolong the life I have left. I have another 23 diagnosed conditions, however those are my two major issues. Like I said my disease is killing me, I just turned 21 yesterday and I am expected to meet 5 to maybe 10 years at best.
Even before my huge decline once I was diagnosed when I was 14 (which happened just about 7 years ago) I was told high impact activities were not a good idea. I am allowed to exercise but my options are limited because they have to be low impact activities. So I am allowed to do things like biking/cycling, low weight lifting, swimming, walking/power walking, and elliptical/arc trainer. Now that I am so sick I can’t even do many of those things. Even if I wanted to/was allowed to do heavy weightlifting I couldn’t because again both of my shoulders are fused which limits the weight I am allowed to carry.
I am allowed 10lbs max on my right arm which I got fused in Dec 2018 and I just got my left shoulder fused January 2020 so I am still in a brace right now strictly for another 5 weeks at least ( I have already done 7 weeks in it). My range of motion is very limited because of the fusions. I can reach about 45 degrees forward max on my right side and it is expected I will have about 30 degrees max on my left side. So that limits the exercises I could do because of the limitations.

I agree partly, but driving is unnatural too. Driving cars allows us to get orders of magnitude further every day than if we only ever walked, jog or ran everywhere, so sometimes what's natural isn't always what's best.
I think it's only unhealthy if you don't schedule time to rest your mind and body

I literally don't have time in the day to procrastinate. I mean I'm at work for 9 hours I am asleep for 8 hours so that only leaves me 7 hours to do everything else! Why is life like this can we just stop, rest look up at the stars and enjoy the miracle of existing for a moment?
