Lou, It's remarkable, this was considered a plain looking car in its day yet it has more style than 90% of what is on the road today.

My thoughts exactly. Your so right about that! Today's cars certainly don't have the style like back in the days. It's all computer generated and microchips on wheels today. I suppose it's all in the name of safety. You can thank Mr McNamara for going on that bandwagon. As one guy[I don't remember his name, can someone remind me] put it, today's music ain't got the same soul like "old time rock and roll". Its the same with cars IMO. Gr8 car and owner. Have a blessed day.

Thank you Mr. Boyer for sharing your beautiful car with all of us! The 1964 Ford Falcon has always had a special place in my heart! I was born in January of 1964 and my late Father bought my late Mother a brand new 1964 Ford Falcon Futura sedan in June of 1964. My Mom's Falcon was "Springtime Yellow" with a gray/silver interior. It had the 170 C.I. in line six cylinder engine and three speed manual transmission with the shifter mechanism on the steering column. When my Dad would reflect on the events of 1964, he would talk about my birth, and buying the Falcon. He mostly talked about the Falcon! :)

I had a brand new 65 Galaxie 500-XL and it had plain chrome strips in the back of the seat and one day I got in it after it had set in the California sum for a few hours and I had a blister on my back the size of that badge and I was wearing a shirt.

My first car in 1967 was a ‘64 Falcon two door sedan that was purchased new at Johnson Ford in Chicago. I bought it from a family friend who brought it to California with lavender “Land of Lincoln” plates. It could hold six people and weekend luggage for them, but the 144 CID engine was just not powerful enough to get up hills without downshifting to second gear (three speed stick). As I remember, the ignition switch was on the left side (unlike this red convertible), and the one speed wiper switch was on the right, next to the cigarette lighter (which I replaced with a four-way hazard switch). My color was Prairie Bronze.

The 1964 Falcon with a 260 cu was the precursor to the 289 cu which followed a year later in the Falcons in 1965. With a little tweaking (4-bbl carb and a larger lift cam) those 260's did alright. But the 289 was the preferred engine to build for racing. My Brother-In-Law had a Dixie Boat (Inboard/outboard) with a special built 289 cu by Holman-Moody. It would run 70 mph flatout. That was a sweet boat!

Squint yer eyes on the front of that falcon and u can see a Lincoln and Imperial, dodge polara front end. Not a bad looking car. Flip the indentation over in the center of the hood, and u have a 68 firebird beak. Rear end is good looking too. The car looks better than other year falcons.

Unfortunately, someone who didn't know any better resprayed it in the all-too-common Resale Red. This car would be a real standout in the original Raven Black.

MANY STOCK WERE "Rangoon Red". What facts do you have that it is not the stock color??? Sorry!! Door tag says "Raven Black" . Please give me a second chance.
