Grew up in Pa. Saw them 25/30 times. They put out a VHS of a concert in a gym and im in it dancing 💃💃 I legit can't keep my body still when they're jamming 🎉🎉🎉
this song fucking rules, ignore the video, ignore what the band look like, close your eyes and listen to this with headphones, focus on the music. My god, this song just fills you with energy
I used to back my car up to the quarries on a hot sunny day and crank this album out and everyone would love it ! Swinging from the rope swing great times
This is excellent music.. You know that feeling when you're dancing to a song and you kinda get the feeling oh no.. it sounds like it's gonna end now and i'm so much in the flow.. and then the song goes on. Pure bliss
You know, I only watched this video because it was in the "More From: RustedRootVEVO" column on the right when I looked up "Send me on my way by this band. Now, I am totally fucking hooked on these guys. Dave Matthews, I love ya, bro, but Rusted Root's got you beat six ways to Sunday. Woo!
I saw these guys at a festival in Northern Michigan called Bliss Fest. They were the headliners of the three day festival. I can tell you that they put on one he'll of a show. Such Fantastic music☆
When I was in high school and college in western PA I saw these guys live about a dozen times. They were always tight as hell, and there were always a ton of very "free minded" chicks at the show, too.
The Root were awesome on hot Summers in Chicago at street fairs.. late 90's & early 200's entire street dancing. Never see that again with this generation and addiction to mobile phones.....
Take away your paper & pen Stacks of money and your foolish grin And go Get me off the backwards ride Take away your greedy way and go See the woman standing at the door World gone by ... Again and again See the blisters growing on your feet Pushed on... Pushed on World gone by
I totally forgot about Rusted Root! Omg, how? I used to trip balls as a teenager in the early 90s and blast the When I was Woke tape! Yes, I said tape 🤣🤣🤣 and I remember every word! rock on guys! 🤘 💥💫💗✨🌹
Get me off the backwards ride Take away your greedy way and go See the woman standing at the door World gone by ... Again and again See the blisters growing on your feet Pushed on... Pushed on World gone by
This band played at a little hippie fest concert almost literally in my backyard about 12 years ago.. it was raided by the State police and the Drug task force...lol
@@christophercarlone9945 yeah it was called "The Church of Universal love and music" Ed Helms did a Story about it for The Daily show back in like 2003
My friends older sister introduce me to Rusted Root around 1996. Surprisingly that was the exact same time I was introduce to alcohol and drugs... I know weird! Around 2000 I had loaded some Rusted Root on Napster and my younger brother who was about 15 at the time heard me listening to it and said in a joking manner “Wtf are you listening to?”. I’m pretty sure I was listening to ecstasy. So fast forward a couple of weeks he and his friends made a CD with Rusted Root on it and all his friends were listening to it. That’s how I always viewed the band they just had this sound that everyone could get down to once they heard it. A couple years later Send me on my way was featured in Ice Age and they became a little more popular.
Talking heads...I get a real Talking heads vibe from this band..I believe that they are a big influence on R.R...? both very good bands and music..🎶🎙🥁🎸
if you were stoned in 1995 this shit was fire. the posts ripping them are funny, but that doesn't change how good this album was then and now. i really liked what they were doing, and nobody else was doing it either. the video is stupid though. play the whole album on a nice summer day and see if you get it.
This band deserved much more.

I love how this band combines salsa style rock with tribal style instrumentation. This is truly alternative rock.
its stoner music
No Approval Needed amaZing been following them since 91!
I call it alternative tribal music
Revisiting this song years later, I can hear some Talking Heads influence too
No this is truly garbage

Would you like to come over sometime?
Damn I can't sleep And I'm watching this lol
They're a lot cleaner than hippies, they're more like spiritualist musicians.

Agreed. The video is so bad but the song alone is phenomenal.
This is the way! Turn the lights down and the sound up. The entire album is moving.
Yes. Video is a little distracting and disturbing. Lol
I used to back my car up to the quarries on a hot sunny day and crank this album out and everyone would love it ! Swinging from the rope swing great times

They opened up for the Allman Brothers in Toronto in 93 or 94, what an excellent show.
