Mechanics are pretty much the beating heart of every mtb team. Without them, things would just stop working. Luckily for us (and you), they're also all incredibly cool, plus they have plenty of great hacks and tricks that they're only too happy to share.
Giacomo is head mechanic for Cannondale Factory Racing and works on the bikes of riders like Marco Aurelio Fontana, Manuel Fumic and Anton Cooper. Cannondale bikes require a bunch of specific spares, so Giacomo carries all of those with him. The coolest thing? He brings Cannondale's SI (System Integration) idea over to his toolkit, with one tool handling loads of jobs; something that's definitely worth considering for your own toolkit.

That compressor is really nifty and cool!
This is my favourite tool box video so far. Mr Angeli seems like right nice chap.
So far this was the best toolbox video - for me at least. :)
Best toolbox so far! Really cool guy as well. It would be awesome if you guys could make a "Travel comparison" video. Like where you physically show the pros and cons/explain the different characteristics of bikes with different amount of travel(Like Strive vs Spectral, Genius LT vs Bronson etc), and to whom the given "genre" of bikes would be appropriate for :)
i need that Bosch handheld compressor
+ferrarone I was thinking the same. In the uk, this looks similar:
www.tradecounterdirect.com/product/rothenberger-cordless-air-pump_type.html?gclid=CIK_tYTZ1sgCFUe3GwodB3sNOw
the other one is for the... LARRY. I want a larry too. best tool in the shop.
That part was funny
Seems like a top bloke. And has a wicked assortment of tool.
what a thoughtful mechanic! just brilliant
Nice to see a well organised tollbox with the the most used tools being ' First Order Retrievable ' :-)
Forget the CO2 cartridges, I'm taking that Bosch compressor on my next ride.
Hands down the coolest team on the circuit.
This is one very organized mechanic!
The Bosch handheld compressor is brilliant.
That mini compressor thing is something I wouldn't mind having in my toolbox.
I got those same Hoka One One shoes!
Well equiped
really cool video!
can you do a video on a tandem mountain bike on a trail pls
omg yes
+Scott Phillips watch this space...
+Scott Phillips Neil and Marc on a mtb tandem!
+Scott Phillips That would be soo cool!
Damn! I was already looking for the Bosch compressor....
well done! you have a socket set... :)
Crap, love the hand held compressor.
@GiacomoAngeli What is the new replacement for Bosch PAG-14.4V Air Compressor? Can you recommend something?
You can get those battery pumps still.
Preset torque wrenches... ooohhh baby.
Cool hand pump... though I doubt it can seat tubeless...
Top.
How about a video on the types of body armor? What is available and what really works? Thanks.
+David Wallace This is a good one.. but there is a dichotomy on this channel because the people that truly know the most about armour are NooBs who crash a lot; these chaps are far from it.
Personally; I recommend POC ;)
+Jason WD To some extent I agree with you. I'm new to the activity and I've had two hard crashes. However, I see expert riders with full face helmets, HANS devices, shoulder pads and some sort of chest and spine protection as well as the usual knee, elbow and wrist guards.
For trail riding not much is needed but for downhill ridge descents there is some need for protection.
+David Wallace Yup - I tend to just wear knees most of the time (even at my local Ski Hill), but most of the fast kids wear a Leatt Brace (AKA 'toilet seat' by my girlfriend).
I wore my full POC suit on the last day of the season because it was a cold day and was eternally grateful as I had a high speed crash on a double black diamond run and would otherwise have broken my shoulder.
Wear as much as you're comfortable with I'd say.

What is the brand of the toolbox on the table
I figure this would be a good place to ask this. I am a fairly new mountain biker and I would like to get some tools for any future problems or mechanicals and I was wondering what would the BARE essentials be? Probably stuff that would fit in a simple toolbox?
+Marcus Ching Guitar Covers Nice pump, allen key set, pliers, a socket set and screw drivers. Or you could just get a bike specific multi tool, some have tyre leavers and chain tool in them.
Bare essentials...Allen Keys 1.5 - 8mm, Pozi/Cross/Flat Screwdrivers, Torx keys (Multi) Pump(wheel & shock), Chain tool, Socket Set small, crank extractor, cassette tool and chain whip, spoke key. Should cover most issues.
+Marcus Ching Guitar Covers hex keys, chain link remover tool, tyre lever, screw drivers, spoke wrench. then later torx keys, cassette remover, crankset remover, brake bleeding kit
What socket size 1/2 or 3/8? Most of the sockets where i live are 1/2, but the ratchets are bit bulky...
Does anyone have any information on where i could get one of those drawer stacks they are using to make up their benches?
under 301 club ✌
heyy
