@ 8:50 I dunno if you're just explaining it poorly, but the range extender option doesn't power the vehicle and there will not be an ICE powered option. It's still a fully electric vehicle and powertrain. Range extender is just a way to charge while you're moving. It's not gonna be some V6 plug-in hybrid. It's gonna be a small-ish generator that runs at a very specific power output and does nothing but charge the battery.
please bring this to Australia ... happy to test and review it in all conditions down under and our family would create RUclips videos on MEDA Family channel
If it does come, it'd be like the Ford lightning and cost a fortune. Unfortunately y'all guys are going to be stuck with Chinese EVS for a while. Luckily some of them don't seem that bad at first glance. Let's see how well they hold up. We need some partnerships with American brands In Australia to set up factories. You guys have all the materials. As an American, one of my favorite car was an Australian Made Pontiac GTO. I hope Australia starts importing some of their cars back to America again.
How are people going to get that 35' tire and rim down? Most small build people have issues with a regular tire and rim that is almost 2' off the ground.
So, is it a battery with a gas generator that charges the battery while driving? Or is like a hybrid with an actual gas engine and battery that gives it extra mpg?
Is this a re-badged, re-arranged Rvian? Similarities are striking 🤣 given VW's $5BN investment in Rivian, this is not as crazy as it may sound at first. Still a pretty cool duo...
It’s not actually returning for at least two more years. I understand the hype, but can we tune it down a bit? And we’re talking roughly 60K. Can’t we make a more reasonably priced product?
Most exciting vehicle in the last 30 years. Bench sest made in America most parts replaceable by owners. This will be my next purchased truck when my 202q tundra dies
@@Sornadilophosarus how so. It is a concept. I drive my cyber truck every day. Will it catch the cyber truck sales . When ford GM and rivian can't make a profit. So how is the concept better .
BOO That's the only thing that makes them actually interesting to use. It would be soo sad if it's just some legacy based design and some boring 4 Banger and FWD based drive train. It would be a massive waste of a brand.
@@Neojhun You have no idea what you're talking about. Waste? What waste? It's a dead brand. Had this been a continuous nameplate, an all EV lineup would've be certain disaster for the company, like it's been a disaster for all companies that pledged to go 100% electrification but are now backtracking with hybrids because of market conditions and the rejection of EVs by mainstream consumers. If they wanted this brand to be truly interesting, they wouldn't done the exact opposite of EVs. They should've given it a fat, simple N/A V8 engine and basic 4x4 system. Literally, all your average consumer wants. Cut out this potpourri EV nonsense.
Wow the Scout traveler and the Rivian R3X are the EV's im most looking forward to

That is perfect. Why would you want all the other junk?
Looks awesome well done vw and smart thinking with adding a range extender
Absolutely love it!
wow been eager for the R2 but that Traveler def has my attention!
Brother! It needs a true sole ICE variant.
Love you highlighted engineered and assembled here in US 👍
Starting at $60,000 still means this is only for well to do.
LOL you wont find one for 60k, they will sell over 100k the 1st year
Li auto already makes range extender vehicles. The Byd shark made in Mexico has a gas engine for extended range. So it’s been done

LOL RHD is not going to happen anytime soon. I dream of having that Harvester version.

Much credit to VW for that interior. If only regular VWs can have an interior like that.
They need to make a full gas version it would sell
😂 They already make full gas versions of stuff like this. Raptor and Wrangler 392. They get 10 MPG. NO THANKS!
EVs already sell a lot, you are delusional
Gas isnt the future.
What was the name of this venue or event center? A tour of some of these reveal sites would be a cool bonus video.
Will The Harvester™ Range Extender be able to charge the battery to 100%?
Honestly, by 2027, when this comes out, you will want the "Modular Reactor" option, not this gas turd option
How are people going to get that 35' tire and rim down? Most small build people have issues with a regular tire and rim that is almost 2' off the ground.
Super dope, i think Electric+gas (range extender) is a great idea , thats what i chose for my reservation. Should seperate them from the pack
It's a SERIES hybrid, there is no mechanical connections between the Engine and Wheels. LESS things to Fail.
So, is it a battery with a gas generator that charges the battery while driving? Or is like a hybrid with an actual gas engine and battery that gives it extra mpg?
@@WarNoodle85they’re saying series, so a generator that charges the battery with no mechanical connection to the drive system.
Have other manufactures used something like this? The gas range extender I mean. It seems like a good idea that should’ve been tried before
@@TheMilkMannnn The Chevy Volt.
Yeah that price in 2027 good luck
Are you sure those are 35" tires? They look like 31" or 32". I suspect that the 35" are optional.
Wow
The Scout motors website claims 91" wide. Is this a typo or are they including mirrors?
I believe with mirrors. Otherwise it would need the triple running lights like a raptor

Bro, that looks NOTHING like a Rivian
can they do OTA updates?
Yep
Can these be serviced at VW dealers?
Hopefully not.
Hopefully they cut out the stealerships.
This is what Bronco should’ve done
Next time shove the camera underneath so we can validate the non soft roader bits underneath.
Those two models have a lot of options you would have to pay for. That incentive is just a tax credit the following year.
It looks damn good
what is this location?
I’m excited

Broncos and Wranglers similarly equipped are going for the same price. Why would they undercut ICE competitors.
Come on, the original was offered as a 2 door. They can do a 2-door with the new model.
Nobody wants that
Bronco and Rivian had a baby…
Most exciting vehicle in the last 30 years. Bench sest made in America most parts replaceable by owners. This will be my next purchased truck when my 202q tundra dies
Badge engineered, jellybean soft-roader = most GM EV's including the Acura ZDX & Honda Prologue.
Very nice but electric??? Why…sales would be huge if you offered a non aspirated gas engine and 5 speed for the off-roaders.
Thank God the door handles are made for normal humans.
dress up the Terra Truck with the Colorado Bison goodies and then a nice paint job... you couldn't make enough of them...
I prefer rivian
Those are good looking vehicles, your friend gets in the way and needs to learn to better stay out of camera view.
50,000 is awesome? Must be spoiled or something
These look like the Ford bronco 😂
..🎉
Volkswagen scout
They tried to copy Rivian and Ford?
The Rivian R1S has always looked to me a lot like an old IH Travelall, which was basically the extended, four-door version of the IH Scout.
@@Zobeid Oh good to know!
By buying a Slice of Rivian. Starting with an initial investment of $1Bill from VW to Rivian.

Not presently planning on a dealer network. Direct to customer is the plan.

Electric will be the downfall of this truck.. no Scout fans will approve of this.
Why?
Almost every truck on the road is almost electric. Even the steering is electric on all vehicles. Nobody runs power steering pumps anymore.
