Couldn’t agree more. Really balanced and sensible as always. We should also remember that Spurs are around a decade ahead of other clubs in terms of infrastructure. Chelsea and Man Utd have rubbish stadia and will need to invest in them over the next decade: we won’t and should be able to invest more consistently in the squad. Removing Ange would be maintaining the status quo - ie removing a manager every year - this will not work, we must stick with him.

Appreciate the in depth analysis as always! You make some good points. I think this season people can't expect everything to suddenly turn a corner. However they can expect an improvement in consistency that would see Spurs back in the top 8 which they can build on next year. I don't think this squad was ready for Europe, but here we are. COYS

What fans need to realise is Ange signed a 4 year contract. He went into this job with that in mind….hence…he would be thinking that improvement really starts in the 3rd season….with regular top 4 spots and domestic trophies by the 4th season. His style of play requires very specific players….it will take a minimum of 2.5 - 3 seasons before his squad represents what he requires to perform his brand. The trouble is….english fans are freakin delusional…and expect instant success. Does NOT happen. Just look at what is happening at United….they want to sack their new coach after 10 games !!!….now that’s absolutely pathetic. The idea of Long Term…no longer exists with fans…it’s all about instant gratification. All I can say is….get a life !!! There should be more to your life than football. I feel sorry for you if there isn’t…..wake up.
I loved ange from his appointment and want him to stay as long as possible. The only thing that is a deal breaker is whether the players still have his back. I think that’s the truth at any club and frustratingly is almost impossible to ever truly answer. You’d need to look into the mind of each of them and see if they are still willing to listen to his message despite the noise surrounding him. The moment they give up on him/stop believing his way works then it’s done. I’d love him to succeed for us
Very balanced review. Sacking managers mid stream has never worked well for us. We do not want to go back to square one of yet another rebuild. I think Levy will probably review our season at season's end and make a decision on Ange's future then. That will be about half way through his 4 year contract term.
I hope Ange watches this and gains some encouragement. As an Ange fan, I'm annoyed with the negative reaction of some of the Spurs "supporters", and have total confidence in Ange leading Spur's decimated team to significant victories.
Top 4 this season will be a bit of a stretch. I would like to see our form noticeably improve in the league and make progress in the cups - ideally winning one of them - but not the end of the world if we don't win one as long as we go as deep as we can and are competitive.
Positions is tough this season. Mid table team got stronger and not playing in Europe, helped them out. Our squad is ok but not a top 4 team. If fans want top 4 then we should sacrifice the cup games. If we want trophies then the league needs to be sacrifice. We don't have a squad to complete in all competitions, just be realistic. 1 starting player and the rest teenagers didn't prepare us for this season.
The time to move a manager on is when/if we get involved with the relegation zone - then Levy will have no choice - it really is as simple as that. So many fans will know this, but not want to talk about it. I predicted we finish in 12th this season, for one reason and that is playing 2/3 games per week destroys any squad either with injuries or fatigue. Many forget that for much of last season Ange had one game a week ! It may sound negative but some clubs suffer from the success of getting in Europe when for most the squads are just not deep enough when injuries hit. ✌ I completely disagree with your opinion on Ange and his system at this level, it also does not impress me when you mention anything regarding Celtic and Brisbane this is not the same level, you are not comparing like with like. I am hoping that we end up with the likes of Marco Silva a decent tactician. ✌
Fortunately teams like Southampton and Man Utd provide some reassurance that it would take the poor run to continue all season for us to be threatened by relegation 🤞
@@OhSoSpurs Famous last words eh ? but either way we both know that if it becomes 'squeaky bum' time levy would move. I would never forgive him as piss poor judgement would leave a new manager coming in with Ange's Jan window players - an utter cluster LOL.
There were issues before the injuries started to mount. These weren't issues related to a lack of quality, they were issues related to Ange's style and system of play. Anyone can see he simply doesn't prioritize defending the middle of the park. That's not a problem of personnel, that's a problem of philosophy.
No defence. .get a new Director+ coach Crying OUT for Players??? until December - you didnt play Spence a single min. You have played close to 0 minutes on the U21 players except Gray. You hv some many others out on loan. Match Management= 0 First XI players management = 0 Squad management /reserves/loans = 0 Injury Management =0
Sorry yes I am an Arsenal fan but your take stinks of delusion... Isn't Ange's record over a 1 year period very average at best..... you havent had an injury crisis for a year....Ange's in game management is atrocious..Simples...
It's easy to forget just how bad the squad was Ange inherited just 1 year ago. We came 8th with peak Kane and Son. Those two carried a side that was below mid table to 8th. Kane is gone and Son being 33 has fallen off a cliff since losing his pace. There were big signs of progress before Romero, VdV, Vicario and Bentancur were all ruled out simultaneously for months. I think it's easy to forget how long it took Arteta to turn arsenal around. At Christmas in his second season Arsenal were 15th in the league.
@OhSoSpurs I hear you However look at the squad Arteta inherited and compare it Ange's.....also a manager must be flexible during the game.... situations change.... example ..as soon as Arsenal finished our blitz and got the 3rd goal vs Brentford the game was over due to Arteta making tactical in game management decisions to manage the risks.... your manager is severely lacking in this department.... In game management really is a mandatory requirement at the top level
@curtiswalker3135 I think Ange has a worse or similar squad situation. He has sold and released 16 of the 25 man squad in a year. Ndombele, Lo Celso, Aurier, Dier, Sanchez, Skipp, Winks, Gil, Rodon, Lloris, Sessengon and Tanganga were his senior players. They've mostly had to be released. On top of that he lost Kane. The squad overhaul has been enormous
The club is a total embarrassment to real THFC fans. The worst owners in football. A League One manager. A squad full of trash players. The weakest fanbase in football. Daniel really has turned us into ENIC FC.

think i said towards the end of last season on this channel , i expected spurs to do worse this season and struggle , i think my exact words were , ange may have actually over performed .
two main reasons,
one, based on player performance attributes for the squad, other clubs with less spending power have used moneyball tactics very well , and spurs barely have a top 10 squad let alone a top 6 or 4. thankfully newcastle this weekend are one of those squads within spurs reach , but eddie howe has them improving . re building spurs is a 4 year job not an 18 month job , and we probably wont see peak ange until year 3 or 4 in his contract . even if spurs go really big in a summer transfer window with moneyball , the fruits of that wont be seen for 12 months.
two, the rest of the league is winning the tactical arms race with angeball. ange is correct to point out that there has been underlying improvement , but spurs net xg has been falling recently , so its only good enough to get them 5th at the moment . the two main problems have been, spurs defensive organisation in and around their own box , and how to beat a midfield block playing a high line , which has collapsed spurs xg. ironically against the big boys like chelsea , liverpool etc, spurs score goals because the other team doesnt care about blocking , they decide to go toe to toe .
fix both these tactical problems , and they are fixable on the training field , and spurs fortunes will improve considerably , but i see precious little evidence that the coaching staff and data guys at spurs are even close to dealing with it . the worry is , if i can see the issues , so should they , but they are being over ruled by ange .
there have been glimses of pragmatism , but even a simple tweak where spurs dial down the press a fraction , given the lack of troops in defense , seems to be beyond them , and its still charge of the light brigade stuff. tweaking the press alone , will see immediate improvement.
none of this amounts to a change of philosophy , just tweaking and refining
so in a nut shell , i have my doubts that a decent winter transfer spend and spurs getting back to full strength in defense will fix anything this season unless tactical lessons are learnt.

Injury Management =0
Sorry Jim but I can not agree with one reason . I really hoped I could because I don't think Ange is going anywhere right now.
@@paulkirk6989 which reason Paul? I hope he stays
God our fans are so delusional, his not doing a good job ffs
Really, me thinks you're another couch coach who thinks he knows more than he actually does.
The club is a total embarrassment to real THFC fans. The worst owners in football. A League One manager. A squad full of trash players. The weakest fanbase in football. Daniel really has turned us into ENIC FC.
As a season ticket holder of 15 years and counting. Am I not a real fan?
Sustained success is a journey not a switch. The challenge for the doomsayers is to seperate the past from the current project🧐😂 (OK a bridge too far) A lot of the Ange out and critical of player voices are acting as if they are Gunner fans not Spurs supporters #coys 🦘 2025 year of the Cockerel, believe 🥰
There are no benefits to booing your own manager and players. We've got to stick with them through the hard times. COYS
