Our entire starting rotation with the exception of Castillo at one point of time would have been prospects in our system. Completely disagree with that you have to spend money to win. There are plenty of examples of franchises that constantly go to the playoffs that spend significantly less than the Mariners. While we appear to have lucked out on the Castillo trade the Mariners have a long infamous history of trading away prospects at the trade deadline in hopes of helping us reach the playoffs only to see them excell with another team and help that team win a world series. True dynasties are built from within the organization. Trading away all your prospects or the spend money will fix everything attitude has proven to be a flawed strategy. One example is the Padres and the trade for Juan Soto. The real problem with the current state of the Mariners was a disaster of an off season in which the front office for some baffling reason decided to acquire players that had not shown they could stay on the field for more than 100 games in a season suggesting they were breaking down. Adding Polanco, Haniger, Garver and Urias all in one off season is downright negligent. Instead they could have kept Suarez a much more durable player signed more durable players like Carlos Santana and actually saved money and been a lot better.

Here’s a suggestion… If you are going to do a Mariner podcast, then take down the fucking 49er shit in the background.

He does daily 49er podcasts so I doubt he wants to constantly move his stuff.

@@bmillsisthemanI was moving stuff but the Mariners pissed me off at the deadline so now they don’t deserve the effort
