    Nice video. I want to retrofit a projector into my 97 mustang cobra reflector headlights. I practiced on a old housing /
    (Same design as the cobra) got the lense off just don’t know what projector to get for a 9007 hi/low beam same bulb. If I use one projector with a hid kit that has hi/lo will it have a actual low and higher beam? Can led’s be used in a hid projector?

    • @LightwerkzGlobal

      You don't want to use LED bulb inside a projector designed for HID. You can use a full LED projector though such as the MLED which comes with a threaded shaft which you can fit in a 9007 application lightwerkz.net/collections/led-projectors/products/bi-led-morimoto-m-led-2-0-lhd - Please email us directly we can supply all the parts needed.

    I’m about to embark on a retrofit for my 2005 Honda CR-V, I already received my Morimoto Mini 2.5” 8 Bi-Xenon H1 projector set, but I’m thinking about doing the high beams too. Do you think it’s possible? The reflector is pretty deep just not as wide obviously as the low beams. I ordered the second set, I can always cancel if it won’t work. Thanks for your input. After seeing the video, I am convinced I would have to do your nut and bolt method to recess the projector into the high beam reflector. I have sent emails and haven’t heard back yet. Hopefully I do soon.

    Bolting the projector is 100% better then using the stick weld. You get to position it perfectly without trying to rush things with the stick weld. Ive done several retrofits but only using the threaded shaft one's but later on i will go with an oem projector. Now for my 2012 mitsubishi outlander (GT not the sport model)not sure which projector to use since i would like to use a 100% bolt on swap with no modifications. So if anyone knows which projector i should use,please lmk. Thanks

    • @nolantsuchiya6602
      @nolantsuchiya6602 5 лет назад +3

      You're probably referring to how there is no 'seal' between the reflector and the projector. Keep in mind that this entire assembly sits within the outer housing and clear front lens, which would be water tight. The nut and bolt method doesn't present any issues with leaking or condensation.

    I just spent 1k on my retrofit headlight for my Xterra and they suck 😔. The company had them to low and I couldn’t adjust them any higher. They did let me send them back to get fixed but now the projector housing bounces around when I’m driving down the road. It’s worst when I hit a bump, railroad tracks, and an uneven road. It’s pretty bad when I turn them off when off-roading. Rather use the light bar that now bouncing around everywhere.

    Hi I was wondering, after you have the projector installed using the screws and nuts and you have it aligned and the screws epoxied in, how do you seal up the hole where the back of the projector goes through? Do you epoxy that hole shut once it's aligned?

      On most models you dont need too since the back is sealed with a housing/grommet. Like so- ruclips.net/video/pu0DQvH-CH0/видео.html OR if you have a housing you need to seal, you can use this type of method - ruclips.net/video/eLQ3pcNn8tY/видео.html

    the putty idea is probably the worst idea possible... even gluing the projector in is silly. as these things can fail, burn etc so replacing a projector unit would be needed..
    I'd stick with nut & plate method as required... maybe little trimming but I'd prefer to even make a custom plate to ensure fitment & if required to return back to original set up of required
    good vid tho

    • @retrofitwholesale9672
      @retrofitwholesale9672 7 лет назад +12

      Actually the putty method is the most used method to date! Its very reliable if done correctly. Many retrofitters use this method including me with no malfunctions. The putty only temporarily holds the projector on until you apply the epoxy. If some have problems its because they don't use the correct epoxy (non-quick set). I've used this method to mount ls460's, ls430's, Murano, RX350 and other projectors that are on the "heavy" side. No malfunctions to date with the oldest retrofit being an LS460 about 4-5 years ago.
      Bolt and nut method is still a great method, though it is very time consuming method available. Either way, I've seen malfunctions from both methods. Its really all about the retrofitter and his/her care and quality of work.
