I have NO LOVE for PC Gamers. They steal and emulate everything and think they have a right to do it. So I hope Sony finds a way to get this done their way and hopefully they WILL
honestly i dislike seeing ads from raid, but good that you mark it as such
Dear god, the spam of AFK Journey is reach level of raids shadow legend bad...i know people need to eat but god damn this mobile scam is getting annoying
AFK games has to be the most boring concept there is,you literally play not to play. All that effort to know how to make games put into some bad cash grab.
Entitled PC gamers are always on the spectrum and always angry.

Remember when you use to be able to buy a game and just play it and not have to worry about corporate bullshit? Yeah I miss those times.
Tie Fighter, on multiple floppy disks.
I miss you my love
yeah remember playing resident evil 4 on ps2 and you unlock things after beating the game while now you buy it as DLC.
still do i buy retro games on gog and having a blast with KKND Krossfire 2 search & destroy
huh?, you still can do that, not with modern consoles, but I still remember going on a buying spree for my old DSXL... all pokemon games even the ranger ones, a few rpgs, buying, regretting and exchanging both zelda games and finally playing the fire emblem remasters, it's not like you are chained to your newest console, i mean, i still play oblivion and skyrim.
Its like everyone forgot about region locking, drm and buggy broken games
IDK about anyone else, but I have become fully comfortable with not owning Ubisoft games anymore.
Haven't bought one in yearrrrrrs. Didn't even bother getting deep into, much less finishing, some AC game epic gave away for free. It wasn't even worth free.
Haven't touched ubi since.
You're not missing anything. Ubisoft Connect is basically malware. And the games are copied every release. Every AC game is the same. Far Cry since the third one has also been just copied. And people still buy it... Well they're waking up to it now.

NOO, NOT MY RAYMAN 2!!!
Yep last game I played by Ubisoft was Farcry 5 and seen friends play some newer games all are soul less crap.... ubisoft Farcry 5 had some ok moments but even that game felt empty and dead after missions were done.... Ubisoft's open world games suck!!!! Not buying any ever again.
"We're sorry you're reacting negatively to our decision."
This gaming bubble needs to burst. Now.
It is. Which is good. It started with BG3 releasing a month before Starfield. Consumers got to get a good game right before an expected 1 in dev for a decade. We saw the Crack in the armor. Then lethal threat, then palworld and then Helldivers 2. Gamers, consumers, are done. We don't owe any studio anything and finally people are voting with their wallets. The winds are shifting in the industry.
Keep stead fast brother. We are not even into the thick of it but trust, we're not alone in it. Keep your money close to your chest and wait a couple weeks before spending a dime on anything. If we don't maintain control of our wallets, we will continue to fall prey to their tactics.
Once more into the breach my friend!
What's astonishing is that this isn't even the first time some lizard-person helming a predatory publisher has said those exact words. They really don't understand that that's the last thing they should be apologizing about in a situation where they screwed their paying customers over. As Gabe Newell said, pirates don't steal cause they gotta choose between games or groceries, they steal because of publishers screwing their players over.
@@BoinkrNanisThis has been going on for years now. Way before BG3 released. I still can’t believe Watch Dogs looked nothing like we thought it would. Gamers are being robbed and lied to, sold unfinished games. Take Two robbing people and many other things and companies.
@@BoinkrNanis I have ignored Playstation Studios on Steam.
The industry is currently too big to have a crash like it did in the 80s.
If the gaming industry is fine with screwing over customers, I'm fine with playing my old consoles. Why? Well, modern gaming is ONLY about money. Nothing else. I have to work for my money too, you know. 250$ for a game????? Nope! I'm not the target audience anymore. But then again, who is? "Don't ask questions. Just consume product and be excited for more product!" Not my way to experience and embrace gaming. And don't get me started on in-game ads!
I won't take your crap anymore. My money, my decision.
Truly waiting for modded consoles to boom into their own golden age, and for us to have to buy them in backalleys from people in shades and trenchcoats because of these companies finally starting to rage other them.
Also, as for a $250 game... Look up how much ES Arena originally cost.
I just play it for free these days or just play the old game as well
If buying digital games isnt ownership than piracy isnt stealing!
@@BajatheChickenMan Such a tired old argument. What exactly do you feel you should own buying digital? All there is, is software / code with digital so there's nothing for you to own. Stealing - "the action or offense of taking another person's property without permission or legal right". Didn't buy it? No legal right to have it.
Ubisoft needs to get comfortable with people not buying their games anymore! (previous The Crew owner)
Just like every other AAA dev/publisher they will keep on doubling trippling etc down until they lose it all. The concept of 'we effed up' does not exist in their eyes... they are used to the idea that their users will put up with anything because that has been the case for the last 10 years except people are really starting to get fed up with this AAA industry BS because you get back home from work and want to escape life since everyone fraks you left and right just so you have to deal with game developers/publishers doing the same thing.
Read Steam's ToS. You already don't own any of your digital games on the PC unless you get it from GoG.
Heck my bro got AC Revelations physical disc and they still stole his game for some fking reason fk Ubisoft.
@@gulox8241Which is a federal crime. It is literally destruction of property to brick the game like that.
@@VydijaRuksana This is 100% false. ToS, T&C, EULA, whatever you want to call them, are civil contracts. They DO NOT surpass the law; in fact, the law is always superior to them. When you purchase a game, you are purchasing a digital good which is a product. When you purchase a digital item from a cash shop, you are purchasing a digital good, which is a product. Any time you make a transaction for a one time purchase for any kind of program, you are purchasing a digital good, which is a product. Access to a server itself, to a game library, to temporary increases in gold/exp gain, etc are services. Those are the ONLY services.
Games themselves are products and under federal law of most nations, the moment you purchase a product, it is YOUR property. If you are required to pay a company to access your property, that is extortion. If you are unable to access the game because the company bricks it or makes it impossible to access without an account/server, that is destruction of property. Software licenses that remove your access are not actually legal because software is a good, thus a product, thus your property. A license may cover a failure to update the software on the part of the developer or cover the relationship between the software and the servers of the developer overall, but removing access to a good you paid for is strictly illegal. The only reason companies have been getting away with this is that no one has challenged them in court yet.
Let me give you an example. Games like The Crew and Helldivers 2 must be paid for. These are not marketed as subscriptions; they are marketed as goods. If you lose access to those games because the company does not let you play them without a server or because they legit bricked your copy, they have committed a crime. WoW is similar in this regard - the subscription is for accessing the server, but the game and expansions are goods; WoW is breaking the law by forcing you to pay a subscription to play the game and expansions you paid for. Season Passes that grant in-game items are also goods, not services.
Stop trying to defend these companies. They are breaking the law. They have always broken the law. And they need to finally pay for that. Digital products are still products. They are still property. A license is just a civ agreement - you cannot pay for a license. You can pay for a good or service. Stop perpetuating the lie.
Remember:
"We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem." - Gabe Newell
This is what Gabe (Steam CEO) says.
He is correct. I live in Belarus, and in 90 there a lot of piracy. People made copy from ninfendo/sega carthridges, and sold them for cheap price. Than was PC era with piracy disks, than people find internet and lan, and send copy games for each other.
Than we got steam, and people start more buy games, due comfort + all games in one place, cheap price, etc.
Now many companies does restriction to steam, so, people just start piracy again, because if you don't want money, why we must find a way how to pay you? Thats no sense.
This, Piracy was a pricing thing back in the 90s or early 2000s now it's about getting way better framerate because no ANTIpiracy software or always internet requiered.
If I wanted to buy Stellaris and all its content, to be up to date, on steam, the game would cost me €322.79 (~$346).
On pirate bay it’s free.
This is a pricing problem
@@bestintheworld4850 f Denuvo
It used to be my financial problem. When a game costs 5th of my salary, of course I don't buy it.
Times have changed, though, economy grew, I'm doing much better. Quit piracy. Now they don't want my money. Ok then, saves me 70, 60 or whatever the game costs now.
Triple A is and was never meant for us. Triple A is or was rather a marker for Investors that it was a safe investment with good return prospects. Triple A does not mean of high quality it just means a lot of money is involved. Triple A needs to collapse, it's unsustainable. Indie is the future.
What a stupid take. Not everyone likes indie games and that is ok.
I see where you're coming from but it's obvious that triple A games currently aren't made to be fun. They are all attention whores trying to chain you to the screen and print money. They don't care about you. From my view I've enjoyed mostly indie games rather than Triple As recently.
Whenever I see "AAA" advertised for any company or game, I immediately think "Wow, this games is definitely a money laundering scheme"
@@rocketman3285 Whenever I see Triple A or even Quadruple A games in the advertisement I already look forward to it less. And that's also a bad thing. The rep of a triple A publisher these days already makes and breaks the success of a game before it even released.

Forced PSN linking on PC is literally Sony leaving money on the table. Missing out making millions from countries without PSN support
All to fudge numbers and lie about player statistics.
The one winning here is just the mobile games.
KEK, each year they seem to transform into bigger and bigger while sacrificing the pawns due to bad publishers.
Then why is it okay for MS, Acti-Blizz, EA, Ubisoft, Epic, and many others to enforce account linking?
I think it's dumb and dislike doing it. But I just find it strange that PC gamers haven't revolted against the other publishers

Cyberpunk was obscene by but thematically appropriate... well except for the racing quest, you know they added that for DEI for sure.

As a developer who uses AI daily.
It sucks and will not help at all on the level suits think it will.
You still need someone who knows the topic to use the AI or you are just going to get nonsense.
bro suits don't think... they are not there to get the job done! Suits are there to sell someone an idea find investors to give them money so they can turn around and give you an impossible task which YOU have to fulfill. They will lie and promise the world and then make you create it in 2 days for 2$ per hour because 'we are a small company and yes I know god created the world in 7 but you see we have to do better than the competition and hey! If you pull those extra hours in and put all that effort in I will give you a better pay of .50 cents per hour!' ALL of theme are like that!
This. I've used AI a ton recently and unless its directly copying off wikipedia (and sometimes even then) it constantly hallucinates.
It's a tool that can work as a force multiplier... but it requires constant supervision, human oversight by those knowledgeable enough to spot it's screw ups and hallucinations and is ultimately just more advanced autocomplete. You've used autocomplete person reading this, you know how bad those can get.
Wait does it suck or does it just need someone else who is actually good at it?
@@lliamthrumbleAI is great. But it's like replacing positions that make things from scratch to positions that can play I Spy and fix typos all day. The main difference is that you're the editor, not the writer; or in another sense, coders always write bad code they have to fix, and instead AI is writing the bad code that the coders have to fix. AI done right massively speeds up development.
The issue with using AI is that these companies simply won't hire editors, just like how they refuse to hire proper QA, or at least refuse to let QA cook fully before launch. This is why so many games are buggy messes on release - the execs are too cheap to give devs time to proofread. Now imagine that but with AI making the games... execs will release seven fingered monstrosities instead of having any devs on salary.
CDPR needs to stay in their lane. Yeah Ubisoft calling Skull & Bones a AAAA game was ridiculously beyond tone deaf, but CDPR is just one DEI/ESG pandering title away from crashing, and considering some of the things they've said recently, that trainwreck is coming sooner rather than later.
News to me that DEI is what’s destroying gaming and not corporate greed. Fucking clown 🤡
Agreed. I think the next Witcher will be DOA.
Witcher 3 was their Magnum Opus. They'll never make anything better and CDPR is most certainly going to go downhill.
lol @ the Fox News viewers embracing the conspiracy theories around diversity. A bridge collapsed? Must be DEI. A black city called Baltimore having a black mayor? Must be DEI.
Why do you think CDPR is at risk of DEI pandering? I would’ve thought an Eastern European company like Poland wouldn’t really care about that stuff.
@@Nikkska They included a god awful racing quest in Cyberpunk 2077 that exists solely for DEI pandering (and it is painfully obvious in the writing, because that quest fucking sucked). I've played through that game many times and I always avoid that quest, it's that bad.
Sony is not done with Helldivers. The linking requirement is still on the store page and the game is still delisted in many countries. They will try again.
I actually think that might be a Steam move more then anything. Until Steam can get clarification about PSN connection requirement and restrictions, they are probably playing it safe by placing restrictions on any country they can find that is restricted by PSN. Mostly to avoid chargebacks and fees from refunds going forward.
The linking has always been required. Steam screwed up.. and it's all about how many refunds they are gunna give out.. and so far steam has been doing everything in their power to avoid redunds..

Enjoy the ability to pirate while you can. Publishers and younger gamers are pushing further into the digital landscape. The digital purchase is the stop gap between physical and game streaming. Publishers' ultimate goal. You can't pirate what you don't have access to
I dont understand this companies. Do they not like money??? WB doubles down on live services games (when suicide squad failed and hogwarts legacy made bank), and now sony is trying their hardest to make as many people as possible unable to play their games so they'll receive less money 🤦
They like money TOO much. The reason they’re requiring PlayStation linking is so they get their player numbers up to look better for investir
they do like money, its just they get more money from their advertising overloads and selling your data than from actual game sales, so why would they care.
As P.T. Barnum once said, "There is a sucker born every minute." As long as there are morons who will spend money on valueless virtual garbage, this is not going to stop.
I think the issue is that people are too short sighted to see the big picture. I might be wrong but from where I am standing it is worth loosing all those customers IF it is normalized that only people in X countries will be able to play the game so Sony can take your data and sell it to third parties for cash. Once they normalize that the future profits will be much bigger in comparison to the potential losses of Helldivers playerbase. I am even willing to say that the end goal is to do what EA are doing... future ingame adds which will bring them in a lot more revenue in the future which they will be able to do through the PSN account. It is disgusting but at this point this is the LEAST I expect from all the AAA sc*mbags.
@frikabg they won't make any money if no one buys their products. This is shortsighted on a level that makes cartoon gag villains look like 4-d chess players.

There's no "thoughtful" way to introduce ads in games. Gaming is about immersion!
gaming is knowing sheep and whales will still buy your garbage so long as it looks nice, and they do, which is why we are where we are today.
In general I agree, but I wouldn't actually mind so much if it makes in-universe sense. For example, if you're playing a game based in Tokyo, if you've ever been to Tokyo you'd know how much advertising there is on buildings especially in places like Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara etc. - in that case even if it's advertising real products it wouldn't be jarring to put real ads up where they are in real life in that city.
Cyberpunk is a similar deal - there's fictional ads everywhere in that game, much like in Tokyo. It wouldn't be hard to conceive of a future where PepsiCo or Sony or any other big conglomerate still exists in a place like Night City, right? Thematically it would probably actually add to the capitalist dystopia vibe because it adds a sense of familiarity.
I'm saying this as someone who genuinely doesn't like ads. I block all online ads and have learned to tune out billboards while I'm driving. Having said that, to an extent capitalist economies depend upon advertising and I don't think all ways of implementing it is necessarily bad. It's just that when it comes to games it's always in your face.
@MaidenLoaf yea when it's incorporated into the world like that it's mostly ok. Like a sports game would just naturally have ads along the sides and on the stands.

Remember the rumors about Sony wanting their own PC platform like Steam? This is a precursor to that. Expect all future Playstation games to have linking, whether optional or mandatory. The big fuckup is them selling the game in those regions to begin with. Moving forward, Sony and Steam will just delist those countries at the start to avoid more confusion.
100% this and the fact they want everyone on a subscription.
Oh for sure, they only gave in temporarily with HD2 due to the backlash. They'll change their website again right when they flip the switch making it mandatory across the board.

Idk the last two final fantasy games (16 and 7) and stellar blade have been godly. BG3 is phenomenal.

I’m not touching Elder Scrolls 6. It’s gonna be like 5+ years before it starts to match Skyrim with mods. Same with Fallout. Broke mods, lost a 600 hour world with 10 characters in it.
@wr5488 Unfortunately, all the games I'm into and like are the shit companies. I don't buy anything unless it's got great reviews. Couldn't get into final fantasy myself, but I understand the appeal. Bethesda has been the biggest letdown. I can still some what enjoy their games, but usually, after getting mods for them.
I thought for a while I just grew out of liking the new games, but I go back and play the actual BANGER games years later, and they are brilliant, and I then know it isn't me, it's the games coming out these days....I started circling back to games I skipped instead of anticipating the games when they come out, and I like it so much better. I don't have a problem avoiding spoilers.
It's cheaper, and I know the game is going to be quality, and not scummy/scammy/greedy, I know it's gonna be one of those games that makes me feel like games used to make me feel. Going back and playing Read Dead Redemption 2 or Zelda Breath of the Wild for the first time years post release really is great, and I prefer that to supporting those kinds of games day 1, bc the release date "event" is what is being sold now--talking to other people about the "shiny new thing," not the game itself, the event you paid a ticket to is the product for most people, and that's not how games are supposed to be, it just isn't!
The games I go back to tend to have lasted the test of time and stand on their own merit. I don't have to enjoy them as a normie would just so I have something to talk about with half friends during the workday. Being a patient gamer is so much better. Better value proposition. As far as Hasbro is concerned, let them burn the entire DND franchise to the ground in their short-sightedness.
There are dozens of other role-playing systems that do the job better than d&d. A software developer will find one of those systems and develop a game around that rule set.
if ads start getting injected into games im just pirating everything.
I'm doing that either way. Repacks are lower file size anyway
@@FlamespeedyAMV living the fit lifestyle lol
Gamers just need to let these companies fail already. They are living on the goodwill brought on by the previous generation of developers. They are ALL trash now, only smaller publishers/devs seem to be capable of making a game actually meant for the players and not share holders.
*Addicts.
For Ghost of Tsushima. I'll a) wait for a freebooter without PSN linked to it or b) wait for a mod that removes the PSN restriction. But since Sony hates money from so many countries, I'm inclined in keeping mine.
In this digital Era, do game devs even need publishers? Video games don't need manufacturing and world wide shipping logistics anymore.
Spitz (the HD2 discord mod) was fired. Also him mocking the player was 100% deserved. He was a terrible CM, but that one comment was justifiable as many people pointed out the person he was responding to was nonstop harassing Spitz for a while before he responded. The dude then went to reddit to complain and was mocked on there as well.
Why are gamers angry? vote with ur wallet. if something sounds fishy or if u got scammed u get a refund and never ever buy something from the same company again... thats the only way they listen.
They won't listen no matter what we do, but we will be richer ourselves
Crazy to see Phil Spencer and Matt Booty dipping out and letting Sarah Bond catch all the heat 😂😂💀💀
So essentially what you're saying is Sony hasn't learned a single thing from the whole helldivers debacle, rather than make the linking optional for ghost of tsushima or create an incentive for PC players while they go back to the drawing board on a new strategy they're like "nah we don't care about the $ or the new players right now, we want that marketing data so we can make truck loads of money in the future"
they do care about the $, they get more from advertising and selling your data than game sales so why would they care?
@@disasterincarnate I agree, they can only sell you a game so many times but with your data, the possibilities are endless, it's a cash cow
Yeah, as soon as I saw that "We're learning about PC gamers", I said the only thing they are going to learn to is require the PSN linking upfront.
When are these devs going to understand that most gamers like quality over quantity.
Though Ubisoft is making it clear that they don't care.
The suits make the call unfortunately.
If that was the case, there wouldn't be over 14000 new titles released last year just on Steam alone.
@@lycanwarrior2137 Isn't it crazy how I haven't played any of those new 14000 titles?
@@lycanwarrior2137 are you talking about proper games and not just asset flips put on steam by scammers tryna make a quick buck and or college kids tryna make their first game
The irony of berating Ubisoft's monetisation policy minutes after spruiking a mobile game 🤣
Any third party account requirement automatically means I don't buy the game including Epic exclusives, as per Dead Island 2, I've blocked all content from the publisher as well, they've lost my future business.
The oversaturatation of AI games will be the death of the gaming industry... if it isn't happening already. People are already turned off from buying most AAA games, a flood of AI games isn't going to magically revitalize sales no matter how frequently they come out. People are going to get sick of them really fast after they all look and play the same and all have the same issues. And without any human quality control they will have tons of mistakes and wrong character models and lots of dialogue that doesn't make sense or sounds like Google search results.
Because AAA now look bad, and artist who draw it don't have taste. Like fable 4, or star wars. Who in right mind buy it?)
Sure wont work on me. My automatic reflex to ai is to hit the ignore button.
Is afk journey the new raid shadow legends? Cause I see it fkn everywhere.
I thought tiege hanley was
Seems like it. Annoying, regardless of the quality of the game.
Give sony the bud treatment; plain and simple
Xbox seems likely the same as well
all the AAA publishers/devs are the same are you kidding me? How are Ubisoft different or CDPR ? They think they have redeemed themselves ,,, on what ground? Says who?! The moment they start selling their company on the open market and investors jumped on board everything went to hell because INVESTORS care about MONEY not about good games. It is only a matter of time before the sc*ew up again and again. I don't give second chances to sc*mbags especially when these people don't deserve it. Keep in mind I enjoyed cyberpunk however once I learned how much CDPR promised and LIED to its customers it was the end for me... I will NEVER trust these developers and the main reason for that is because there are thousands upon thousands of indie developers who release GREAT games each year to the point where you can't keep up! A lot of those games light years ahead of whatever the AAA is offering so why would I bother with companies that keep on lying and deceiving their customers on every freaking turn instead of investing into someone who MIGHT lie to me ?
Yup. I put sony's creator accnt on steam on ignore. And not just sony.
Sony is still learning how to screw every customer in the most imaginative way.
I understand why people got mad about helldivers because it first stated psn acc is optional and then changed it to a MUST while fcking those wich cant acces psn in their countrys.
And while i don't like Sony in general i think it is their right to say you need a psn acc for coming pc titles, since pretty much everybody else does it we can't just say no to one of them. Even tho i really dont like it and most likely wont get Ghost of Tsushima because of it.
But our fellow gamers in countys without acces to psn getting left out is the thing that bothers me the most. Not the acc linking, that everybody can decide for themself. But not even beeing able to decide it for yourself because its not accesible for you is a no go. But this is something for Sony and the local gov to figure out i assume.
TLDR: Sony has a right to make psn accounts mandatory, even if i don't like it, i atleast have a choice. But beeing left out for living somewhere without psn is a no go.
I think WotC is severely mistaken if they think it was the IP that made BG3 interesting.
You KNOW. Theres no question about it 😂
Wait... i see Japan on the list sooo... this means you can't buy GoT PC in Japan?
JAPAN???
THEIR OWN COUNTRY???
WHY???
I suppose, there a simple logic by analytics. For example. Russia - is a PC country. Every family have PC, every russian know how to play dota and counter-strike. Japan - more console land, where everyone has switch or PS. They probably don't buy PC games alot. And russians don't buy console games a lot. The same with USA region, they probably more love CoD, instead counter-strike. You'll get logic.
Same with helldivers and PSN. Most of players are usa, europe, russia, chinese, which is probably 80% or more of all players. They better push them to PSN, and lost 10% players, than make happy all, but lost all potencial PSN users.
I think something like this, if i was soulless corporation, i would do the same.
@@fdnfdnasd7714 No, I don't get your logic, what you say makes zero sense.
My company is based in X country, i make a product and won't sell that product in my country (X) because... reasons. This is simple, not that random "logic" of yours.
Edit: another thing: why would i give up some possible money from pc players? Ok, there are more console owners in Japan (probably) but that doesn't mean there aren't a lot of PC players too, so I ask again: Why is Japan on the list??
@@fdnfdnasd7714 You are so deep in that copium mine you're gonna be meetin Balrog soon.
Logic is simple.
1) Sony have statistic who buy their game.
2) sony games on PC not sold super good (if compare with PS5), online is low.
So, i guess, the most of the consumer not from japan. Logic - get more profit from situation right now. And the second, probably in sony "general plan", get more PSN is more important, than get +50.000 copies from japan.
Doesnt japan have there own version of tsushima? No i dont mean another game equivalent to it. I mean that sony made a version of tsushima for japan that does not show up on western store fronts but they do have it available. Apparently thats the explanation i keep seeing
14:02 that's not why he got fired though. He got fired because he later apologized for his comments and instigated people to downvote the game and request refunds.

Skull & Bones is a joke, but CDPR will never have bragging rights again. I haven’t gone back to 2077, again, yet… probably will, eventually, but it’s going to take a while. The gaming industry really is imploding. Hopefully it’ll give Indy developers a better ability to compete. AI is where creativity goes to die.
Skull and Bones is a pirate game developed by Ubisoft, the game heavily encourages plundering, and PIRACY
@@mtt3000 I get your joke, but as an aside, it sure is a shitty pirate game coming from the company that had a hit pirate game, what a decade ago? It’s a sign of the times when the AAA publishers are killing the creatives, instead of allowing them to build on their successes.
RUclipsrs like this make me sick, they make a living from slagging off microtransactions.. then advertise a mobile game that is full of them..
I’m laughing at gaming, I remember back when monetization became a thing and I said it was horrible for gaming and I got crucified on boards back in the mid 2000s, now I see that gaming has turned into a straight dumpster fire and I’m laughing. I don’t game like I use to so I don’t care but man it’s really gotten bad 😂
Ironically I feel like all these big publisher screw ups is partially a good thing because it encourages still independent studios from taking buy out deals
baldur's gate 3 was good because of larian, the IP itself was dormant and nearly worthless I don't expect WOTC to make anything worthwhile out of it.
Just a comment to say, that I'm a regular on the channel, and this is just another great video I've been enjoying recently. Thank you for the good work and keep it up! !
People actively avoid Ubisoft games because they require a separate account from Steam. Why does Sony think they can push ahead with Ghosts without the same?
funny. Im 100% betting youre gonna preorder gta 6 which will require social club
I was watching the evolution of the game industry from its infancy through its adolescence, adulthood, and eventual decline. What we have now is a new concept: the greed industry. When developers were replaced by marketing teams and CEOs, and passion was traded for greed, the gaming industry died.
Never buying another Sony published game on Steam. Don't trust the buggers to not force PSN into it.
I put sony's steam creator accnt on ignore.
I had several games wishlisted, but ultimately I held off on buying any of them bc I expect this kind of thing from Sony, and I put my line in the sand like 10 years ago when EA and Ubisoft and all these 10+ big bad terrible games companies tried to worm their way onto my machine. I was thinking about helldivers 2 foreal, but I expect this kind of thing, so held off, nbd to me. It pays to be patient, you never get got. I'm glad this happened, now I know where they stand and I don't even have to think about Sony at all ya know?!
steam still says "Requires 3rd-Party Account: PlayStation Network (Supports Linking to Steam Account)"
I live in a country not supported by PSN, I will not be purchasing any Sony titles in the future. I don't know when Sony might decide to cut me off
I live in a country *with* psn. I sure as fuck am *not* giving my deets to a compamy that gets hacked as a rite of passage for new hackers. Much less for a console I don't, and will never, own.
Its morally permissible to pirate a game with AI assets.
True! Cant copyright it because its not human involved enough, thats a law. 😂
The Watch Dogs franchise could easily be a success. The fact they don't want to do the obvious is a sad state of the continued direction of gaming.
Agree.
1000%
I think another reason Sony is pushing this is because they want to brag about higher PSN member numbers, since it would force a lot of PC only gamers to add to the number of PSN users. To make shareholders happy.
the main reason is so they can sell data.
WOTC is delusional
CEO and stockholders think that the infinte money glitch is somehow real. growth will and can level off.
You have to understand your enemy my dude... they know growth isn't infinite but it is their job to make sure that it is and if that means ruining the product they are selling so they can show better quarter results MEH! So be it... they don't care! Once the quarter is up they can sell their shares/interests and move on to the next project which they will ruin. They are there to make short term money NOT invest into good products with good quality which will bring them long term profits. This is why EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN company that has become publicly traded has been ruined in a long run.

All those companies who don't want my money anymore. Don't have a PS5, won't subscribe to a "service" for a single player game, won't buy microtransactions. I bet UBIsoft arnt quite ready for us gamers NOT owning their games.
I'm calling it now, snoy will release their own storefront and launcher in the next 3 years. It will be the worst launcher/storefront in history for games, they will sell terribly, and snoy will stop publishing for pc in 5 years, most likely citing 'piracy'.
thats very possible.
Sony's decision to restrict the sale of Ghost of Tsushima in 180 countries may inadvertently fuel piracy, echoing Gabe Newell's observation that many gamers resort to piracy not due to affordability, but rather due to lack of accessibility in their region. This move also dampens the possibility of Helldivers 2 achieving Game of the Year status, given the dissatisfaction with Sony's handling of the situation and Arrowhead's implementation of excessive "balance" patches, which have detracted from the enjoyment of the game.
Remember: if buying isn't owning, then pirating isn't stealing.
If games are going to use ai to make less work, lower production cost and time, make things easier for devs and such, are games going to come down in price to compensate?
Idk why PC players think that sony gives a shit about them

Thank you for covering this. I'm from Serbia, one of the handful of Balkan countries that are sadly lumped into this restriction. Among places like Bosnia, Montenegro and Macedonia.
We've been able to create PSN accounts in our regions for years. Playstation Support has been advising people who live in unsupported regions to just select a supported country upon sign-up. Sony literally sells Playstations in these regions. Lots of people in Serbia pick PS over Xbox every gen, lmao.
I've waited 4 years for this game since I didn't own a PS5 or a working PS4 when it came out. I pre-ordered it on PC the week it came out on Steam. Had it forcefully refunded on Friday and it absolutely crushed me.
I hope Sony can either revise their TOS to *officially* allow unsupported countries to register (since their support already advises this, lol), or expand into more Balkan, Baltic, Middle-Eastern and other regions as soon as humanly possible.
