Remove the windshields and replace with screen mesh, use a bungee cord the driver can reach and release to 'pop' the mud off. This, along with helmet tear-offs are what we used on dirt 30 years ago.
We all new the windshields were a bad idea. Anyone who has ever seen a race on dirt knew that. Nascar has not held a dirt race in 60 years and they don't know how. So you would think let's go to a place that does. Nope we will figure it out as we go. Saying nothing for taking one of the best tracks on the schedule and doing it there.

Ok I’ve been going to dirt tracks since the 1970’s for those that don’t know, dirt tracks are CLAY, not topsoil. Clay tracks are watered, run in and provide great side by side sideways racing. This is not that. You don’t race in mud, let alone with windshields. They should have just had the thing at Eldora.
The summer bristol race is almost always sold out and the spring race has been declining over the years for number of attendance so they tried something different that will draw in the fans to the spring race

That didn't kill NASCAR................This weekend won't kill it either I still want to believe this will be one of the best seasons ever and despite a stumble with the 500 and the bad weather from this race weekend so far it is, we have had different winners every week and I want that trend to continue.

What oversight? They just simply need to get the track dryer. They tried to see if we could get some racing in and we couldn't. Nothing needs reworked.

Take the windshields out. It's dirt for goodness sakes. Can't wait to see the mud jet dryers. There wasn't enough thought used in setting this up. The cars and trucks will never race with the current setups and design. Last week was the dirt nationals. My worst fears for this race have been realized. All that hype for both events for nothing. I do hope the races will be great no matter what days they end up racing but the ratings are going to tank. They'd be lucky if a million people watch on Monday. I want both races to succeed but all the negative comments from alot of fans (you know who are) are not helping one bit.
3 things you learn racing on dirt tracks: 1- windshields are useless. 2- you need ducting to get air to the radiators that knocks the dirt out of the airstream. And 3- you're going to wind up with dirt in places that you didn't think it was possible to get dirt into!
As an experimenter myself, I totally understand what its like everyone pointing the finger and laughing, but kudos for trying, I still have high hopes that a dirt race can be a fun show, sadly I won't be able to watch it due to obligations.

Put the truck series drivers in modifieds, Xfinity series drives in 602's or 604's and Cup series in super late models. Common sense says get rid of windshields on a dirt track.

but the mud cake the Front Preventing Air to get into the motor and there the motor will overheat and pop . Removing the Windshield fixs one issue
