I well remember The Flintstones. All names had to do with a type of stone. Their neighbors were the Rubbles. Baby girl was Pebbles. Fred an pal Barney worked at The Granite company (I think) Their name The Flintstone's had to do with FLINT a type of stone. They lived in the town of Bedrock. I even know the entire theme song to the show. Loved the show.
Funny, when I saw the logo on screen, the extra T looked weird, but on the other hand, it makes sense to be Flint, as it is a stone. Flin makes no sense. Still went with it, as the T in the logo bothered me. But now I see it written in your comment, it looks absolutely right with the T 🤯
I think this one has more to do with the way Americans pronounce words. I'm sure this happens in other languages as well, but since we're talking about an American show....well, anyway. People tend to be lazy when speaking. Most don't enunciate properly which can lead to misspellings. Think about it... enviroment vs environment; expresso vs espresso; perscription vs prescription; etc. Thus, a lot of kids grew up not pronouncing the "T" in Flintstone. @chrismacdonald7955, even you used the word "an" instead of "and" when typing, "Fred an pal Barney...". I've noticed using "an" instead of "and" has been the tendency for the last decade or so. I'm not sure, but maybe that has to do more with social media and messaging shorthand than anything else. I'd love to find out what others think about that. Sorry I've been long winded! ☺
I love how Cam just fell down the Mandela effect rabbit hole one day and STILL remembers all of the details of it when I can barely remember what I ate for lunch yesterday 😂
Blew my mind to find this out. I’m one of the ones who remember him dying in prison. My history teacher told us in class and then we all did projects to honour his memory and achievements. My dad remembered it too. But my mom didn’t.
I absolutely LOVE how knowledgeable Cam is about so many things. In so many of these Men Try vids, he's always bringing the facts and tidbits no one else knows. He's so well-traveled and experienced, it's amazing! It's like when we learned that he did missionary work in Latin America, and there he learned Spanish. He's just so multi-faceted and interesting.
90’s mama here, I remember Sinbad in that movie. Believe it was a Disney movie. I use to draw Pikachu for my kids to color, the tail was black! I don’t even want to address the rest, I’ve lost my mind 😂
I just turned on Star Wars: A New Hope, and C3PO's legs both look gold. I had to rewind and watch the scene again multiple times to finally decide that it was not gold. It's not really silver, either. It's so close in color that it's not noticeable.
@@margaretstidham3835 it’s a logical misunderstanding. I think it also has to do with the end ing of “people will come” and the line of car lights at the very end. But the voice is very much “he will come.”

I really enjoyed this episode... I LOVE Mandela effects.. and I've heard about more... if you do this again... look into these... 1) Sex in/and the City 2) Looney Toons/Tunes 3) Jif/Jiffy Peanut Butter 4) Curious George's Tail 5) Fruit/Froot Loops 6) KitKat/Kit-Kat 7) Chartreuse - Pink or green? 8) "Life is/was like a box of chocolates" - What did Forrest Gump actually say? 9) Mirror mirror on the wall - what did the queen in Snow White really say? 10) "Hello, Clarice" - didn't say it? 11) Song "We Are the Champions"... of the world? - apparently not 12) Ed McMahon and Publishers Clearing House checks - her never worked for them? (there's even a scene in movie Erin Brockovich that references it) 13) Tom Cruise in Risky Business - sunglasses or no? (again - referenced in movie Never Been Kissed contradicting what is claimed) Also, just an idea, but I know people's perceptions of things can be different, and maybe if you find enough of these you could make a video about it... ever heard of the dress? The one that some people say is white and gold and others say is blue and black? Or the Laurel/Yanny audio clip? Just an idea... it can spark a really good debate if people see/hear different things...
How I remember these: 1) Sex in/and the City ... I remember Sex & the City (remember them using the &, not writing out the word and) but pretty much always said 'n rather than and when it was on the air. Lol 2) Looney Toons/Tunes ... Tunes 3) Jif/Jiffy Peanut Butter ... Jif 4) Curious George's Tail ... I remember a tail. 5) Fruit/Froot Loops ... I remember it both ways. I just googled, and Froot Loops Cereal was invented in the year 1959 under the original name “Fruit Loops”. The cereal was then re-released in the year 1963 under the name “Froot Loops”. So this one actually was both ways! :) 6) KitKat/Kit-Kat ... I remember it with a space, Kit Kat. 7) Chartreuse - Pink or green? ... I always thought this color was an aqua blue/green color, though oddly I also remember it as a brown color too. The actual green color for it is much prettier than what I had in my mind for this color. 8) "Life is/was like a box of chocolates" - What did Forrest Gump actually say? ... No clue. I only ever saw this movie once and don't really remember if it was is or was that he said. 9) Mirror mirror on the wall - what did the queen in Snow White really say? .... I remember Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all? Don't remember her saying "magic mirror" - ugh! That is terrible. 10) "Hello, Clarice" - didn't say it? ... I don't remember him saying it in the first movie with Jodie Foster, but maybe in the other movie with Julianne Moore playing Clarice he did? I only watched Hannibal once, but I've watched The Silence of the Lambs many times. Love that movie! No Hello, Clarice in the first one. :) 11) Song "We Are the Champions"... of the world? - apparently not ... I don't remember the words to this song. I usually change the channel when this tune comes on the radio because I find the song a bit annoying, so I've never really listened to it. Lol 12) Ed McMahon and Publishers Clearing House checks - her never worked for them? (there's even a scene in movie Erin Brockovich that references it) ... I absolutely remember Ed working for PCH. Do some people not remember that? Edit: I just googled, and he worked for some other company that gave away money? I definitely remember him giving money away, but yeah maybe it wasn't for PCH. I was a kid; I guess it could've been a different company. I just remember him saying you could be a winner! Lol :) 13) Tom Cruise in Risky Business - sunglasses or no? (again - referenced in movie Never Been Kissed contradicting what is claimed) ... No clue. He probably wore sunglasses somewhere in the movie, but goodness I don't remember a specific scene with him wearing a pair. He definitely wore sunglasses in Top Gun. Can't really remember any in Risky Business though but wouldn't doubt he had some on. I've only seen this movie a few times over the decades since it came out, so I'm sure I've forgotten a lot of scenes in this one.
I actually have a story about the cornacopia. In 5th grade at thanksgiving my teacher was talking about a cornacopia and I asked her what that was and she actually said its the basket of fruit on the fruit of the loom.
I grew up watching Pokemon in the 90's and watched it before school. I am still a big anime/Pokemon fan. No Pikachu never had black on the tale. The pre-evolution to pikachu is Pichu. Pichu has a black tale. Just thought you might be combining the two.
I had shirts and underwear from fruit of the loom with the cornucopia. It absolutely did have hit at one point. I remember thinking it was stupid to have the "weird basket" on a logo.
My Fruit of the Loom "UNDEROOS" from the 80's HAS the cornucopia on it. I looked for it specifically when this ques came up once before. They're boxed up in storage or I'd take a pic to prove it.
Here is another STAR WARS one...Darth Vader never said "Luke, I am your father!". I got a great laugh from this one. Thanks guys great show as always..
Even though the Fruit of the Loom claimed that its logo never displayed a cornucopia along with the fruits, several users shared an image of a product from the brand, which clearly showed the brand logo containing one. Now it is unclear whether this image is real or altered.
I think the confusion with Pikachu is because Pichu has a black tail & Raichu has a dark colored tail base. Also, Jess said "A: Silver Leg - B: All gold"
This was so fun to watch. It’s amazing how our minds can trick us. I hope you’ll do it again sometime in the future. I saw that there are more Mandelas out there, but I didn’t read them.
According to my Pokemon original cards. Pikachu did NOT have a stripe on the TIP of his tail. It was at the base of his tail only. I checked both a card from mid-1990's and a card from 2021.
I’m 45 and I remember it as “If you build it, he will come.” We were supposed to think like him that it was Shoeless Joe Jackson he believed was coming but it was actually his dad. That’s what made the end so special 😭
FYi I have a copy of "the new hope" 1970. And he has 2 gold legs. I don't know where the silver leg came from but I don't think it was present in the first three movies.
I literally saw a tv show the other day, and they dressed as Lucy & Ricky and used the same line you, Cameron, & I believe was right!!! Then the Shazam with Sinbad bothered me too and IMDB says it’s true!!! For some reason it won’t let me post the link but I just searched Sinbad on the IMDb site and there it is!!
For spelling ones, It's most likley due to how we speak vs words. Like soap for example. We don't pronounce it like so-app, it's sope. Flintstones, the t seems to be silent cause the t in stones is prominent. A thing that might cause this are forein people who pronounce words as spelt where people who grew up with english made it silent. Donno though, It's just a theory I have. (also dyslexia is a thing so this could also be another reason) I've had it happen to me personaly with sword. I pronounce it sowrd. Others say sword. Take it I swap letters around sometimes or they just don't appear at all to me, so words are often mispelt or mispronounced
I'm 46, I remember him dying. It was announced over the speaker in high school. It was huge for a week or two. I remember the news feeds of the funeral and the wife. Crazy.
+1 Flintstones because flint type of rock *+1 Liberty Island -1 I Love Lucy-been ages since Nick at Nite -1 Field of Dreams (never seen it) +1 know Shazam is not real +1 Skechers-dad always called them “skee-chers” +1 Oscar Mayer because the lovely song Cam sang for us +1 Pikachu not Pichu (black tail) +1 dancin not standin +1 silver leg 3PO-I’m a new fan-never saw the movie until two weeks ago +1 STAIN-I used to ask my mom whyyyyy +1 Febreze lol +1 no cornucopia lol +10, -2, bonus +1 Liberty Island=statue because I’ve been there and Ellis Island is a whole separate building and island where people were processed. I’m an anxiety driven person that’s slightly obsessive and sooooo details always have been my focus lol
Y’all have no idea how interesting it is that y’all posted this today. It was needed. Badly. Austin, never change your answer unless you know 100%. “My brain hurts.” I feel ya, Austin, I feel ya! What about that stupid dress and Laurel/Yanny? “I don’t trust corporate America! Do you?” I’m right there with you, Cam. **I literally just looked up those lyrics. “I knew he must have been about 17.” “Can I take you home where we can be alone?” 😳
I google this found this about pikachu..... Pikachu has never had a black tip, in any official artwork it was never there or to be spoken of. This probably stems from the tip of his ears, they're black and to fill in the picture people believe there's black on his tail; For aesthetics.
But "flint" is an actual thing that makes fires and tools, so FlintStones make sense Skechers never had a "T" in it. I bought them for years. I think we are just forgetting things when we get older 🤷♀️
LOL got them all correct. Knew the Berenstain Bears because I helped in the library and had to type up the card catalog and checkout cards for all these books.
I asked my mom som of these questions especially the Flintstones one and she also said that its Flinstones. She also agrees that someone is trying to make people feel crazy and is going in and changing these things.
Cam is a smarty-pants! standing ovation for being able to remember all that let alone saying all that you said, hum..... that I can't even remember...... right now. But it was in the beginning of the video. 🤗 and in "I Love Lucy" he always said "Lucy you have some explaining to do"
Talking with my husband about this episode ... I may of married someone from an alt time line O.O' xD I swear there was a cornucopia. The C3P0 Leg one.... still swear its all freakin gold! Pikachu ... Agree!!! I swear there was a black tip tail!! lol. These are always so crazy and maddening and just .... UGH! lol. Flintstones though i knew ... because Flint Stones ... But basically all the others... mind blown. lol. Caused some arguments in this house xD ♥ Loved watching ♥
This was so interesting! I was wrong on most of them. And Jess did say A was the Silver Leg on C3PO and B was both Gold. I Googled C3PO and he was built with a silver leg, but there are several images of him having both gold legs. I also looked up the Fruit of the Loom logo and I saw that the company was brought through bankruptcy and somethings were changes...maybe that's when the cornucopia thing was removed?? There were some pics of t-shirts like Jess mentioned with it. I didn't know much about the Mandela Effect so I'm glad you guys did this one. Good job!
Hello! Love from the UK! I love the concept and genesis of the Mandela Effect. For me, it's fascinating that psychologists and sociologists created an entire concept as an answer to people unable to accept that they are simply wrong! It's a weird world we live in! 😂
Well, the reason they did is because it's a mass effect. If one person was saying Mandela died in prison, and the whole rest of the world was saying he didn't, we'd all just say that one guy was misremembering. But when about half the world population remembers him dying in prison and the other half doesn't (I remember him being freed), it's weird and so they gave it a name. It's not mass hysteria, but it's along the same lines where a wide swath of people have the same experience that others don't.
This gave me all the iconic moments and singing and authoritative tone I want definitely keep that going. Also shoutout to cam for his knowledge. I love his brilliance Austin your just as incredible and talented and Jess. How dare you be the best producer. Ever lol
That was the purpose of the Mandela affect. They eased any and everything of what we know. What should happen is that pictures (Polaroid). They can change that.
It's a well-known fact that once his career was well-established, Kevin Costner went around and bought every copy he could find of his first movie ( I forget the name ironically; I guess it worked) so he could basically erase it from movie history, it was so bad.
The "genie" in the displayed image on the vhs actually features the chest and arms of WWE wrestler Chavo Guerrero, with Sinbad's face digitally added to the scene:Despite the total lack of evidence that any such film starring Sinbad was ever made - no extant footage, no still shots documenting its creation, no news articles or movie reviews mentioning it, it has no entry in the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), and Sinbad himself has stated that he never played a genie in a movie called Shazaam - many people still they remember seeing the movie.
For me it's the Berenstain / Berenstein bears debate. I know intellectually the authors are named Berenstain, but my entire childhood we said Berenstein.
Yes because I was learning to read and the i before e thing was big plus I had to ask if it was pronounced with I sound or E sound like steen or stine would sound.
The Lucy line is explainable because it has been used many times in pop culture, like on Fairly Oddparents, SNL, etc. Many of us know this line as a famous one from the show, but it is just so often misquoted in pop culture we all take it as the real one.
I'm a 65 year old Brit so wasn't aware of a couple of the subjects eg Berenstain Bears, but managed to get 3 right! I amazed myself, especially as my memory isn't what it was. More of these please, love ❤ from UK 🇬🇧 PS "Lucy, you got some splainin' to do" & "Hey, Lucy, I'm home!" are the 2 things I remember from that show but as the first one is wrong, was the second also wrong?
I remember him saying Hey, Lucy, I'm home! too, but like you, I remember the Lucy, you got some splainin' to do phrase, not the shorter ones she listed. Lol :)
I had to rewind and check because I was adamant Jess did the silver leg on C3P0 as A (and I was right) but with all the Mandela effects I got wrong, I started to question myself! Don't mess with our heads like that 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Awesome video i swear i remember things that others dont haha, Hi from New Zealand! just wondering if you guys have had a snack pack sent from NZ ? cant find a video on it, If not we would love to send you one to try full of nz favourites
I must be from your reality cause I agreed with everything you think was real. The other one I find mind blowing is , I distinctly remember Ed McCann presenting publishing clearing house checks to winners, but supposedly did happen.
I might be wrong, but I think that Lucy one is because of that 70's show. There was a paridy of I Love Lucy and Fes said the line everyone thinks it is. Possibly caused the Mandela effect
there is a scene in the movie fools rush in with matthew perry that you can find here on youtube called the cactus scene where as they are coming into the house he says "Lucy, you've got some splaining to do!"
Sorry Austin but it’s you that will teach us something, we are the ones that will learn. I have just had to look at the Star War film photos of C3Po because this has blown my mind, why couldn’t I see this.😱🤯
The movie is real. It was released in June 1994. And finally on RUclips sinbad admitted it was real and the movie actually existed. this is what I have found so I dunno loll Were The Berenstain Bears ever spelled Berenstein? Why You Thought It Was The "Berenstein” Bears: Name Theory ... The confusion has been added to over the years as knock-off versions of some of the books have used the “Berenstein” spelling of the name, but it was definitely always The Berenstain Bears and the series draws its name and spelling directly from the authors who wrote it.
When Fred; puts the cat out for the night; something else that I know isn't right. I used to play a lot of the themes from t.v. shows. I loved the songs for t.v. shows, like the Dick Van Dyke show, Dean Martin, Ed Sullivan, The Get Smart show, Hawaii 5 - O ........etc. Mannix, Dragnet, Glen Miller, Woody Herman,.....
6:18 pretty funny that both ANC for I love Lucy are correct and the answer is incorrect. Because I remember hearing the answer in fairly odd parents on Nickelodeon. so that’s pretty ironic.
Austin was right Jess did do A as the sliver leg and b as two golden legs.
Actually, Austin was wrong he said a two gold legs was A. Jess had a as one gold leg one Silver Legs and B was two gold legs.
18:51 "A - silver leg or B - all gold "
19:55 Cam was so cocky about B being “silver leg” and that Jess confused herself after 2 minutes…but he was SO WRONG.🤣😂🤣😂

I got every single one of these wrong dang it, This was a lot of fun and i hope y'all do more of these.
(also dyslexia is a thing so this could also be another reason)
I've had it happen to me personaly with sword. I pronounce it sowrd. Others say sword. Take it I swap letters around sometimes or they just don't appear at all to me, so words are often mispelt or mispronounced
There was proof of Shazam on RUclips....I recorded some of it for a TikTok Mandela video. It's of the actual movie we all remember
I just saw one about Richard Simmons and NO headband but I swear all growing up that man had a sweat handband!
Yes it was red white and blue… but many are saying red. You never saw him without it sometimes he would where a fancy one. It’s too much. Lol
MY MIND IS BLOOOWWWWNNNNN right now!!!🤯🤯🤯🤯
I doubt everything I've ever thought I'd known!!!
Yall DEFINITELY need to do more of these!!!!🙌🙌🙌
I'm 46, I remember him dying. It was announced over the speaker in high school.
It was huge for a week or two. I remember the news feeds of the funeral and the wife. Crazy.
I saw so many comments on Bob Barker death posts last night saying he already died!

"Standing there by the record machine," per the version I sing in karaoke by Joan Jett
@@billieflowers1 hmmm
nelson Mandella didnt die until 2013, and its always been - The Flintstones, meet the flintstones, there the modern stone age family
Mandela died in 2013, gentlemen....you got it backwards.
18:10 I first thought it was Standing…then after multiple choice I thought maybe Hanging. Thought for sure it was NOT Dancing. 🫢
What is going on with Ladies and Lattes. Please just let us know if it’s not coming back
This episode had my mind all over the dang place!!! Love your videos!!
I literally got screen to nose yelling at Austin "WHY DIDN'T YOU DRAW PIKACHU!"
I google this found this about pikachu..... Pikachu has never had a black tip, in any official artwork it was never there or to be spoken of. This probably stems from the tip of his ears, they're black and to fill in the picture people believe there's black on his tail; For aesthetics.
I always remember Flintstones because the stone is called FLINT not flin
But "flint" is an actual thing that makes fires and tools, so FlintStones make sense
Skechers never had a "T" in it. I bought them for years.
I think we are just forgetting things when we get older 🤷♀️
It just sounds so weird when you sing it pronouncing it correctly lol
You did show the silver leg as A.
Wasnt c3po's silver leg like SUPER off silver... almost gold...
I definitely remember it as the Flintstone! Because of “flint” being a stone.
@@brendafrazier811 Same. Flint-stones. One of the only ones I got right! Lol :)
Easiest way to explain the Mandela effect is essentially playing telephone based on memory.
He is talking about his dad showing up in field of dreams
They were probably Saturday night live or other shows doing spoofs that had the quotes we remember.
6:08 can someone find the episode of the fairly odd parents were they use that line from Cosmo to Wanda? Does that still exist?
ruclips.net/video/D3RCEHGIoxs/видео.htmlsi=QzA8QaDF-cx6sdTt
Cam is a smarty-pants! standing ovation for being able to remember all that let alone saying all that you said, hum..... that I can't even remember...... right now. But it was in the beginning of the video. 🤗
and in "I Love Lucy" he always said "Lucy you have some explaining to do"
More of these videos please! This was a fun one. My brain is spinning.
It's definitely always been the Flintstones. With the T. Because they're cavemen. Flint was a material commonly used to make tools by early man.
Most people know that but names are also frequently changed for design
Question for Cam, do you have a VCR to play that Field of Dreams VHS???
Talking with my husband about this episode ...
I may of married someone from an alt time line O.O' xD
I swear there was a cornucopia.
The C3P0 Leg one.... still swear its all freakin gold!
Pikachu ... Agree!!! I swear there was a black tip tail!! lol.
These are always so crazy and maddening and just .... UGH! lol.
Flintstones though i knew ... because Flint Stones ... But basically all the others... mind blown. lol.
Caused some arguments in this house xD
♥ Loved watching ♥
I really found this interesting. I wonder what other ones there are. Would be cool to see another video of these.
Mirror ,mirror on the wall ..the lion shall lie down with the lamb ..
Hey guys is ladies and lattes coming back
This was so interesting! Good job!
Here’s another one for you guys: In the end of the movie Casablanca, does he say ”Play it again, Sam” or just ”Play it, Sam”. 😊
Ever lol
Who else was NOT ready for cam to nerd spazz 😂😂😂😂
That was the purpose of the Mandela affect. They eased any and everything of what we know. What should happen is that pictures (Polaroid). They can change that.
It's a well-known fact that once his career was well-established, Kevin Costner went around and bought every copy he could find of his first movie ( I forget the name ironically; I guess it worked) so he could basically erase it from movie history, it was so bad.
Love Austin and Cam but what happen to ladies and lattes ??
The "genie" in the displayed image on the vhs actually features the chest and arms of WWE wrestler Chavo Guerrero, with Sinbad's face digitally added to the scene:Despite the total lack of evidence that any such film starring Sinbad was ever made - no extant footage, no still shots documenting its creation, no news articles or movie reviews mentioning it, it has no entry in the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), and Sinbad himself has stated that he never played a genie in a movie called Shazaam - many people still they remember seeing the movie.
Guys, my husband and I LOVED this one!! Need more!
the Shazaam one Sinbad has said he made but it was when he was in a dark time so he had it scrubbed.
Man Austin and cam confused the hell out of me and Jess with C-3PO 😂
They probably found that Pikachu drawing, and the matrix caught up and erased it.
The Lucy line is explainable because it has been used many times in pop culture, like on Fairly Oddparents, SNL, etc. Many of us know this line as a famous one from the show, but it is just so often misquoted in pop culture we all take it as the real one.
Yup. It's right up there with "Luke, I am your father."
I'm a 65 year old Brit so wasn't aware of a couple of the subjects eg Berenstain Bears, but managed to get 3 right! I amazed myself, especially as my memory isn't what it was. More of these please, love ❤ from UK 🇬🇧
PS "Lucy, you got some splainin' to do" & "Hey, Lucy, I'm home!" are the 2 things I remember from that show but as the first one is wrong, was the second also wrong?
I remember him saying Hey, Lucy, I'm home! too, but like you, I remember the Lucy, you got some splainin' to do phrase, not the shorter ones she listed. Lol :)
You guys should definitely do this again!! With Curious George, the most famous Star Wars quote, etc.
I had to rewind and check because I was adamant Jess did the silver leg on C3P0 as A (and I was right) but with all the Mandela effects I got wrong, I started to question myself! Don't mess with our heads like that 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes fruit of the loom did originally have a cornucopia
Ed McMahon and publishers clearing house still gets me
Awesome video i swear i remember things that others dont haha, Hi from New Zealand! just wondering if you guys have had a snack pack sent from NZ ? cant find a video on it, If not we would love to send you one to try full of nz favourites
I must be from your reality cause I agreed with everything you think was real. The other one I find mind blowing is , I distinctly remember Ed McCann presenting publishing clearing house checks to winners, but supposedly did happen.
I remember it that way too.
Same.
I thought it was Ed McMahon or McMann
Your Spelling is correct
Yes Austin... thats exactly what Ricki said to Lucy!! I'm 53 years old and I sang it with you dude 💪
Lol I guess the logo with the cornucopia is a knock off
The line “Lucy, you’ve got some splaining to do” Matt Perry says in the movie ‘Fools rush in’.
We need more like this!!! Lol love this episode
The Star Wars guy is depicted as both gold leg and silver leg if you search him on the Internet
There are episodes of Ricky saying “lucy, you have some ‘splaining to do!!”. ! 😂😂
Cameron you’re doing great losing weight! Keep up the work sir
Sorry Austin but it’s you that will teach us something, we are the ones that will learn. I have just had to look at the Star War film photos of C3Po because this has blown my mind, why couldn’t I see this.😱🤯
"I'm gonna find that Pikachu drawing..." Lol! I loved this game!
The movie is real. It was released in June 1994. And finally on RUclips sinbad admitted it was real and the movie actually existed. this is what I have found so I dunno loll
Were The Berenstain Bears ever spelled Berenstein?
